The provided reviews offer insights into the experiences at Willows Campground and Sulphur Campsite, both apparently managed by Go Camp Utah. One reviewer, who stayed at Willows Campground on June 17 and 18, 2024, had a surprisingly positive experience, particularly noting the cleanliness and maintenance of both the campsite and the restrooms. This is a crucial aspect for many campers, as clean facilities significantly contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable outdoor experience. The reviewer specifically mentioned campsite #6 as being a "great spot" for hammocks and offering ample space for tents, indicating a variety of camping preferences can be accommodated at this location.
A standout feature of this stay was the helpfulness and pleasant demeanor of the camp host, Taylor. According to the review, Taylor provided excellent hiking recommendations when the reviewer's son expressed interest in a hike, and the recommended trail was thoroughly enjoyed. The positive interaction with the camp host highlights the potential for personalized assistance and local knowledge that can enhance a camping trip. The reviewer concluded by expressing anticipation for a future stay at Willows Campground, indicating a high level of satisfaction.
The second review also expresses strong positive feelings about camping at a Go Camp Utah managed site, stating, "We absolutely loved camping here and can't wait to go back!!" This enthusiastic endorsement suggests a generally positive experience with Go Camp Utah's offerings. The reviewer specifically commends Storm, identified as the "best area manager," for being "so friendly." This reinforces the theme of helpful and friendly staff contributing to a positive camping experience.
This review also provides valuable information about the environment of at least one of the campgrounds managed by Go Camp Utah, mentioning the presence of a creek nearby. While the proximity to a creek can enhance the natural beauty and offer potential for wildlife viewing and the soothing sound of running water, it also comes with a practical consideration: mosquitos. The reviewer advises, "Definitely don't forget to pack your bug spray for this trip since there is a creek nearby so of course there are plenty of mosquitos." This is an important tip for potential campers to ensure their comfort and enjoyment of the outdoors.
The reviewer also specifies their campsite as "Sulphur Campsite" and highlights its convenient location right next to the Whiskey Creek Trailhead. This is a significant feature for those interested in hiking, providing immediate access to a trail directly from their campsite. The mention of a specific trail name (Whiskey Creek Trail) allows potential campers to research this trail in advance and assess if it aligns with their hiking abilities and interests. The direct trailhead access from the Sulphur Campsite adds considerable value for outdoor enthusiasts.
Based on these two reviews, camping at locations managed by Go Camp Utah, such as Willows Campground and Sulphur Campsite, offers several appealing features. The campgrounds appear to be well-maintained and clean, with spacious campsites suitable for various camping setups. The staff, including camp hosts like Taylor and area managers like Storm, are consistently described as pleasant and helpful, providing valuable assistance and local knowledge. The natural environment often includes proximity to creeks, which can be scenic but also means campers should be prepared for mosquitos. Additionally, some campsites, like Sulphur Campsite, offer direct access to hiking trails, catering to those who enjoy outdoor activities.
While these reviews are positive, it's important to note that they highlight specific experiences at particular campsites (Willows #6 and Sulphur Campsite). The overall environment, services, and features might vary across other campgrounds managed by Go Camp Utah. However, the consistent mention of cleanliness and helpful staff suggests a general standard that potential campers can expect.
For local users searching for “camping near me” and considering Go Camp Utah, the information gleaned from these reviews indicates a focus on providing a clean and well-supported camping experience in natural settings, often with access to hiking opportunities. The presence of creeks might be a common feature, so being prepared for insects is advisable. The positive interactions with staff members like Taylor and Storm suggest that Go Camp Utah prioritizes customer service.
To get a more comprehensive understanding of all the campgrounds managed by Go Camp Utah, potential campers should visit their website (if available) or contact them directly using the provided phone numbers. Inquiring about the specific amenities at different campgrounds (e.g., restroom facilities, water access, fire pits, picnic tables), the types of campsites available (e.g., tent sites, RV sites), and any specific regulations or recommendations (e.g., regarding bug spray or hiking trails) would be beneficial. Additionally, asking about any promotional offers or discounts for local residents could be worthwhile.
In conclusion, Go Camp Utah appears to manage campgrounds that prioritize cleanliness, offer access to natural environments (often near creeks), and provide helpful and friendly staff. Specific campgrounds like Willows offer spacious sites suitable for various setups, and some, like Sulphur Campsite, boast direct access to hiking trails such as Whiskey Creek Trail. Go Camp Utah Reviews
Me and my son stayed at Willows campground on June 17 and 18 2024. The camp site and restroom was surprisingly clean and well maintained. The #6 site was a great spot for our hammocks and had plenty of space for tents. The camp host, Taylor, was very pleasant and helpful. My son wanted to go on a hike, and Taylor was able to make several good suggestions. My son enjoyed the hike Taylor recommended very much. I look forward to staying at Willows campground again.
Jun 21, 2024 · TimothyWe absolutely loved camping here and can't wait to go back!! Storm was the best area manager, and was so friendly! Definitely don't forget to pack your bug spray for this trip since there is a creek nearby so of course there are plenty of mosquitos. We also loved that our site, (Sulphur Campsite) was right next to the Whiskey Creek Trail head.

Aug 28, 2024 · Dan MaughanI camped by myself for the first time ever here last night, the staff is always driving around making sure everything is OK which made me feel safe. Misty came to check on me as I was checking out and took the time to talk to me a few minutes, she was so kind to me it completely turned my lonely trip into a great experience. I ran into Kathi, the campsite manager and Eric who is in charge of the boat loop and they too were very kind to me. I can tell everyone here takes a lot of pride in their work, the entire campground is clean and well maintained, it's full of people that are caring and sweet and this has become my favorite place to camp. Thank you so much, Misty, Kathi, and Eric for making this a great experience for me! ❤️
Jun 24, 2023 · Aly ZunigaDeb and Del are greatest camp hosts I have ever come across!!! I stayed with them at the Smith and Morehouse campground in the Wasatch National Forest.I camped all over the state of Florida for two months before making my way and camping from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. Staying in 11 different states and I can’t remember how many campsites; I had good camp hosts, friendly hosts, grumpy and reclusive hosts, campgrounds without any hosts and campgrounds I’ve stayed at for multiple nights and never saw the host. When I pulled into the campground after an extra day of unplanned driving I was tired, weary and in extreme pain due to my neurodegenerative disease causing extreme back pain but I pulled up to the Campground host sign 🪧 and could immediately feel a positive energy that was ever present during my stay there. They came and greeted me with big smiles and an open/friendly disposition which is always a pleasant contrast to the Authoritarian host who is excited to use every bit of their tiny influence to make your stay uneasy and to boost their ego.Deb and Del are the opposite of that!I felt the strange urge to give these strangers a hug when I first met them, and although I was able to resist the urge I don’t think they would have minded if I had.My stay over the next six nights was wonderful, and given my physical condition that should not have been the case.Due to traveling for so long I needed to have Telehealth appointments and was waiting for my medications to be picked up mailed in by family members; so I was hurting! Out of medications for three days prior and not getting refilled until the day I left put me in a spot where I was just trying to survive each 24 hours, yet to my surprise I was able to manage my pain and the related muscle spasms, entrapped nerves and strained ligaments and able to enjoy each day in the breathtakingly beautiful nature that I had traveled so far and so hard to get to experience. If Deb and Del were not my campground hosts I can say with near certainty that I would have been miserable the entire time, I would have suffered more physical damage and would have been seriously close to going to the hospital and perhaps having my trip ended entirely. Yet, I soaked up the nature, saw a moose walk 20 yards from me in camp and had such an enjoyable time at what was one of my favorite campgrounds on my cross country camping adventure!Just on Deb and Del, I have never seen campground hosts put so much loving effort into their jobs! I have a keen feeling of discernment and can quickly feel people’s energy and intent; Deb and Del leave no question that they are truly motivated and inspired to bring joy to those who visit their campground. Their intention is clear and pure, it is obvious that their reward is helping to make other’s days just a little bit better. There is little question that they do what they do for all of the right reasons and that they want….no they would love it if they could spread a little bit of that joy to those lucky enough to spend some time with them in the great outdoors! Thanks so much for just being you at a time when I needed it most. I got to spend 6 nights there in a nearly empty campground and would have stayed the max two weeks had the campground not been reserved and fully booked from the day reservations started onward!Maybe next year I’ll make a reservation or just try my luck with the First-come First-serve options. Heck, maybe I’ll make my way to Arizona in the winter and come find you guys there!Much Love,Geoff and Chico 🐕
