Greenwood Lodge & Campsites Introduce
For local residents seeking a picturesque "camping near me" experience in the heart of Vermont, Greenwood Lodge & Campsites, located at 311 Greenwood Dr, Woodford, VT 05201, offers a compelling option. This small, family-owned business, reachable at (802) 442-2547 or +1 802-442-2547, has garnered positive feedback for its stunning scenery, well-maintained sites, and exceptional hospitality. If you're looking for a tranquil escape nestled in the mountains with easy access to local attractions, Greenwood Lodge & Campsites might be the perfect local getaway.
When considering "camping near me," the environment and the quality of service are often paramount. Greenwood Lodge & Campsites appears to excel in both areas. Multiple reviewers have highlighted the "scenery" and "stunning views" associated with the campground, emphasizing its location nestled in the Vermont mountains. This suggests an immersive natural environment, ideal for local users seeking a break from urban life and an opportunity to connect with the beauty of the Green Mountains. The description of it as a "small quiet campground" further adds to the appeal for those desiring a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
The positive experiences extend beyond the natural surroundings to the service provided by the owners. One reviewer specifically mentions being "greeted by Chris who shared many details about our stay and local attractions, hiking trails and information on our stay." This personal touch and willingness to provide local insights demonstrate a commitment to guest satisfaction and can significantly enhance the overall camping experience for local visitors who might be looking for recommendations on how to best explore the area. The fact that it's a "small family owned business with depth and attention to detail" suggests a level of care and personalized service that might not always be found at larger campgrounds.
Greenwood Lodge & Campsites caters to a range of camping preferences. The mention of "RV sites" and "Easy RV access for travel trailers with some larger spaces for class A rigs or large fifth wheels" indicates that the campground is well-equipped to accommodate RV travelers. This is good news for local users who own RVs and are looking for a conveniently located and accessible campground. The specific mention of accommodating larger rigs suggests that the sites are reasonably spacious and can handle a variety of RV sizes.
While the reviews primarily focus on RV camping, the term "Campsites" in the name implies that tent camping is also an option. Local tent campers seeking a scenic and quiet location in the Vermont mountains would likely find Greenwood Lodge & Campsites appealing. The well-maintained nature of the property, as mentioned by one reviewer ("Everything was so clean and well taken care of!!!"), suggests that tent sites would also be in good condition.
In terms of services and features, the reviews provide some valuable insights. The availability of information about "local attractions" and "hiking trails" is a significant feature for local users who want to explore the surrounding area. The emphasis on cleanliness ("Everything was so clean and well taken care of!!!") indicates a high standard of maintenance throughout the campground. The easy RV access is another key feature for RV owners.
However, one important service limitation is explicitly mentioned: "Only downside is no sewer hookups." This is crucial information for local RV owners planning an extended stay, as they will need to manage their wastewater using other means, such as a portable waste tank or by utilizing dump stations located elsewhere. This lack of on-site sewer hookups might influence the length of stay or the type of RV setup that is most convenient for campers at Greenwood Lodge & Campsites.
Despite this one limitation, the overall sentiment from the reviews is overwhelmingly positive. One reviewer stated, "We had such a wonderful experience! Chris and his family were so kind and always made sure we had what we needed." This reinforces the theme of exceptional hospitality and personalized service. The fact that this reviewer will "definitely be visiting again" speaks volumes about the positive impression left by Greenwood Lodge & Campsites.
In summary, Greenwood Lodge & Campsites offers several appealing features for local users seeking "camping near me":
- Stunning Scenery: Nestled in the Vermont mountains with beautiful views.
- Friendly and Helpful Owners: Chris and his family are consistently praised for their kindness and provision of local information.
- Well-Maintained Sites: Clean and well-cared-for grounds and campsites.
- Easy RV Access: Accommodates travel trailers and larger rigs like Class A and fifth wheels.

- No Sewer Hookups: RV owners need to be aware of this limitation.
While specific promotional information is not provided in the reviews, the positive word-of-mouth acts as a strong endorsement. The emphasis on the scenic beauty, friendly service, and well-maintained facilities suggests that Greenwood Lodge & Campsites offers a high-quality camping experience that justifies a visit for local residents. For those looking to take the "scenic route" and immerse themselves in "Vermont’s beautiful views," this campground appears to be an excellent choice.

We stayed here for one night and were blown away with the scenery, RV sites and location. We were greeted by Chris who shared many details about our stay and local attractions, hiking trails and information on our stay. This is a small family owned business with depth and attention to detail. It is a small quiet campground nestled in the Vermont mountains with stunning views. Easy RV access for travel trailers with some larger spaces for class A rigs or large fifth wheels. Would highly recommend this place for people looking to take the scenic route and enjoy Vermont’s beautiful views. Only downside is no sewer hookups.
Sep 10, 2024 · Garrett KraalMy partner and I just spent the long weekend here. We had such a wonderful experience! Chris and his family were so kind and always made sure we had what we needed. They gave us some great recommendations around the area as well. Everything was so clean and well taken care of!!! We will definitely be visiting again.
Oct 15, 2024 · Irmina ChrzastekIf I could give this place 10 stars I would! There's no way I'll fit all the good things I have to say about Greenwood Lodge, the Sheas, and our time there into this little box. But in short, the accommodations were wonderful, the view and scenery sublime, and the hospitality was out of this world.Chris was so helpful in every aspect of our trip. Without going into too much detail, he stuck around to give us pointers about our RV (first timers) and went far out of his way to make sure things were all set for our visit. His parents are an utter delight to talk to as well! Ed swung by as we were leaving, cracked a delightful joke, and wished us well.Ann was a pleasure to speak with and not only provided outstanding customer service, but she was so responsive, friendly, courteous, and an all-around joy to deal with. I wish Ed and Ann the best of health and longevity, and will enjoy seeing them on our future visits for years to come! The grounds are just stunning. Excellent places to walk, hike, fish, and just take in the scenery. The camping spots where we parked our RV had all the hook ups we needed (INCLUDING WIFI!) and were private enough to make it feel like we were on our own adventure with little interference from other guest. We stumbled upon Greenwood Lodge by accident, but we will certainly be coming back to stay as soon as we can!TL;DR this is one of those places that I'd prefer not to review, because I rather people don't know about it, so we can keep it all to ourselves. However, Greenwood Lodge is something that everyone should experience. And most importantly, the Shea Family are people who everyone should meet.Until next time!
Sep 17, 2024 · S WSA medium sized park with water/electric sites some set in the open and some in the trees. There are no sewer hook ups but there is a dump point. There are several ponds that add to the ambiance. The bathhouse was modern, clean, and functional. NOTE: After making an online reservation they will send you an email with directions into the park. Follow these, NOT your GPS. You’ll understand after you arrive safely.
Jun 11, 2024 · John DaleBeautiful and peaceful stay. Owners were friendly and kind. The sites were very nice and the grounds could easily be explored through the paths and trails. Clean showers and bathrooms too. Would definitely stay again.
