Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey Introduce
For local users in Pennsylvania and those near the Hershey area searching for a well-regarded "camping near me" experience, the Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey, located at 11 Lickdale Rd, Jonestown, PA 17038, USA, presents a compelling option. As part of the Kampgrounds of America (KOA) network, it benefits from a recognized standard of services and amenities. You can reach them at (717) 865-6411 or their mobile number +1 717-865-6411 for inquiries and reservations.
The environment of the Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey appears to be a significant draw for many visitors. One reviewer specifically loved their spot "on the creek," indicating that the campground offers creek-side campsites. This suggests a tranquil and scenic setting where local campers can enjoy the natural beauty and soothing sounds of flowing water. The campground also boasts "lots of space to stroll and unwind," implying a layout that encourages relaxation and exploration within the property. Its easy access off the highway is another environmental factor, providing convenience for travelers and local users alike.
The facilities at this KOA seem to be a strong point, with one reviewer stating it is "one of the best KOAs we have been to over the years." This suggests a high standard of infrastructure and upkeep. The bathhouse is specifically mentioned as being "very neat and clean," which is a crucial aspect for camper comfort and hygiene. The camp store is described as "well stocked," indicating that local users can likely find a wide range of necessities, snacks, and perhaps even souvenirs without needing to leave the campground. The presence of a deli within the store is another significant service, offering convenient meal options for campers.
However, one reviewer noted some areas needing attention, such as potholes in the drive paths and the need for a fresh coat of paint in some areas, including the camp office. They also mentioned that some campsites could use updated systems. While these points suggest areas for potential improvement, the reviewer still indicated a willingness to stay again if a creek spot was available, highlighting the appeal of that particular environment.
In terms of staff, opinions were somewhat divided. One reviewer praised the "great staff" who "work very hard and are happy." However, another reviewer found the staff to be "not very personable," which they noted was unusual for a KOA. This suggests that while some staff members provide excellent service, there might be inconsistencies in the overall guest interaction.

Jonestown / Hershey NE KOA Journey Reviews
What a great STAY! This is one of the best KOAs we have been to over the years. Great staff and facilities. You can tell the staff work very hard and are happy. The bathhouse was very neat and clean. The store was well stcoked and we enjoyed our food from the deli.
Mar 22, 2025 · mikeWe loved our spot on the creek. Easy access off the highway. Lots of space to stroll and unwind. The actual drive paths have some pot holes and need addressing. The staff wasn’t very personable which seemed odd for a KOA. The camp office and some areas need a fresh coat of paint and some campsites need updated systems. We would stay here again if a creek spot was available.
Apr 02, 2025 · Fredy FindsVery easy to get to from I-81, very easy to get to Hershey from here and I believe they run a shuttle to Hershey Park in the summer. Last year we had an issue with our camper when we arrived. They directed us to a Man that did on-site repairs. He was able to do the repair so we could leave on time to our next destination. Each person I met working here was very nice.
Feb 04, 2025 · Commander-RRThank you to whoever assigned our site on 4/24. We booked online, checked in after hours and left early. Our welcome packet was ready as promised and our site was easy to navigate and park late night.
Apr 26, 2025 · Geoffrey GraysonThe staff here deserve 5 stars plus. Genuinely welcoming and very helpful. They thanked me for my patience, although I just had to wait a few minutes. Our propane was filled cheerfully, right away. They escorted us to a space and stayed awhile to make sure everything was in order, which is far above average. And compliments about their kindness and hospitality really meant a lot to them. The layout is good, location easy to find. This was our third visit, however the first two were late arrivals. This time, it was a pleasure to interact with such nice, helpful staff. I am grateful.
