Lakeland Campground Introduce
For local residents in Wisconsin and the surrounding areas seeking a delightful 'camping near me' experience, Lakeland Campground, situated at 2803 E State Rd 59 in Milton, WI, comes highly recommended by recent visitors. This campground appears to offer a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, making it an attractive option for families, RV travelers, and those looking for a seasonal camping spot. Based on recent customer reviews, Lakeland Campground boasts a friendly community, helpful staff, and appealing amenities that contribute to a memorable camping getaway.
One enthusiastic reviewer expressed their love for Lakeland Campground, highlighting their repeat visits, once at the season's opening in April and again more recently. This return visit speaks volumes about the positive impression the campground made. They specifically praised the "seasonal residents" and all the staff they encountered as being "great and friendly," fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. For local users searching for 'camping near me' where they can feel a sense of community, this feedback suggests that Lakeland Campground excels in creating a pleasant social atmosphere.
The same reviewer also noted the spaciousness of their campsite, which comfortably accommodated their 30-foot travel trailer with "plenty of room." This is an important consideration for RV travelers, indicating that Lakeland Campground offers sites that can handle a variety of RV sizes. The mention of ample space suggests that campers can enjoy a comfortable setup without feeling cramped. Furthermore, the positive experience with the pool water being "great" adds to the appeal, especially for families and those looking to cool off during the warmer months. The presence of a well-maintained pool is often a significant draw for campgrounds.
A unique feature highlighted by this reviewer is the "permanent food truck on the grounds," which they lauded for serving perhaps the "best 'smash' burger I’ve ever eaten." This amenity offers a convenient and potentially delicious dining option for campers, adding a fun and flavorful element to the camping experience. Having a reliable food source onsite can be a significant convenience, especially for those who prefer not to cook all their meals at the campsite. The mention of a sunset over the beach being "beautiful" suggests that Lakeland Campground may also offer scenic views and possibly access to a beach area, further enhancing its appeal as a relaxing retreat.
Another reviewer, a full-time family traveling in a 40-foot 5th wheel, provided a balanced perspective, outlining both the pros and cons of their stay. Among the positives, they echoed the sentiment about the "very friendly and helpful" staff and the "very nice community" where people were "very pleasant and polite." This reinforces the earlier feedback about the welcoming atmosphere of Lakeland Campground. They also appreciated the "nice playgrounds," which are a significant asset for families with children, providing a dedicated space for kids to play and burn off energy.
Overall, this reviewer considered Lakeland Campground a "nice spot" and indicated that they "would stay here again" despite some concerns they raised. This willingness to return speaks to the positive aspects of the campground outweighing the drawbacks for their family. Their experience suggests that Lakeland Campground offers a generally positive camping experience, particularly regarding its community and staff.
However, this reviewer also pointed out a couple of cons. One inconvenience they noted was the absence of readily accessible dumpsters, requiring them to take their garbage to a "junk yard area." While they acknowledged it wasn't a "huge deal," it was still an inconvenience. This is a practical consideration for campers regarding waste disposal, and it might be worth inquiring about the current waste management procedures when booking a stay.
The second con raised by the 40-foot 5th wheel traveler was regarding the site being "big rig friendly." While they fit "just fine," they found the turns to be "very tight," especially when pulling out. They also had to be "creative in parking our truck." They further noted that if all the spots were filled, there might not be a drive-through option, potentially requiring backing out of their section. This is crucial information for RV travelers with larger rigs, suggesting that while the campground can accommodate them, maneuvering might be challenging, and site selection might be important. Local users with big rigs searching for 'camping near me' should take this into consideration and perhaps discuss site suitability with the campground staff when making reservations.
Based on the provided reviews, Lakeland Campground offers a welcoming environment with friendly staff and a strong sense of community. Its amenities include spacious campsites (at least for a 30-foot travel trailer), a pool, playgrounds, and a permanent food truck. The potential for beautiful sunsets over a beach area adds to its scenic appeal. These features make it an attractive option for families and RV travelers looking for a pleasant 'camping near me' experience in the Milton, WI area. However, travelers with very large RVs should be aware of potential challenges with tight turns and site access.
Regarding promotional information, the positive reviews themselves serve as a strong endorsement for Lakeland Campground. The repeat visits and the willingness of a full-time RV family to return despite some minor inconveniences highlight its appeal. For local users searching for 'camping near me' based on positive word-of-mouth, these reviews are valuable. To learn about current rates, availability, seasonal offers, or any specific promotions, interested individuals should contact Lakeland Campground directly using the provided phone number: (608) 868-4700 or +1 608-868-4700. In conclusion, Lakeland Campground in Milton, WI, offers a highly regarded camping experience characterized by its friendly community, helpful staff, and appealing amenities such as playgrounds, a pool, and a delicious onsite food truck. The potential for scenic lake views and sunsets adds to its charm. While generally accommodating to RVs, travelers with very large rigs should be mindful of potentially tight turns within the campground. For local users seeking a welcoming and enjoyable 'camping near me' destination, Lakeland Campground appears to be an excellent choice, well worth contacting for their next camping adventure.

Lakeland Campground Reviews
Loved this place! We went in April when the season opened, and then went back this past weekend. We absolutely loved it! The “seasonal residents” and all the staff we met were great, and friendly. Our camp site was large and plenty of room for my 30’ travel trailer. The pool water was great, and the permanent food truck on the grounds, may have been the best “smash” burger I’ve ever eaten. The sunset over the beach was beautiful. We will be back as many times as we can!
Aug 26, 2024 · brian memmel40 foot 5th wheel. Full time familyPros:- Nice playgrounds- Staff was very friendly and helpful.-Very nice community, people were very pleasant and polite.- Overall a nice spot, we would stay here again despite some of the concerns with the tight turns.Cons:- No dumpsters out so we had to take our garbage to their junk yard area. Not huge deal but an inconvenience.- I would not consider our site big rig friendly. We fit just fine but the turns were very tight, especially for pulling out. We also had to get creative in parking our truck. If the spots were all filled, we did not have a place to drive through and had to back out of our section.
May 31, 2024 · Emily OrserWe stayed in cabin 1 for a 2 night booking. We paid almost $700 for the weekend. We were able to bring our 3 small dogs (for $10 additional each) which is a huge plus. But overall, I’d save your money. I don’t think the accommodations are really worth it. I’d suggest that staff perform a walk through of the cabin prior to each new reservation. I’m thinking maybe they clean after someone checks out and then it sits stagnant until someone else checks in.There were 4 huge wasps on the inside of the cabin. I’m so glad my husband suggested we pack wasp spray just in case. I have a 10 month old so if he would have gotten stung … ugh can’t even explain what my frustration level would have been. The cabin definitely had an earwig infestation, so much so they were crawling on the beds. The cabin could definitely benefit from some type of pest control. Floors behind or under furniture were covered with cobwebs, trash and dirt. I picked up several used napkins underneath the main living room couch. The ceiling fans had about 1.5 inches of dust on the blades. The fan that I could reach, while standing on a chair, I cleaned because again baby and who wants to breathe that in?? Also one of the portable air conditioners was broken. The exhaust tubing was secured by duct tape. Staff was very quick to replace it because the tube had fallen off, making the cabin pretty warm when we first walked in.We spent like the first hour just cleaning the place up. We also brought Lysol wipes, very glad we did. Overall, the cabin has the potential to be a cute opportunity but I just don’t think it has been maintained very well. Also, who provides cooking utensils and a coffee machine… but no coffee filters? There’s also a weird sign above the sink saying none of the dishes etc have been sanitized? It gave instructions to use a specific tablet with water but there was no tablet provided. We had our own paper plates/ plastic silverware. But just kind of weird!Staff were pleasant but again, still not worth it to return!
Jun 30, 2024 · HayleyWe are staying in the 8 person cabin. It is beautiful. However, it smells horrible. When we checked in the toilet had urine in it and the shower was still dirty with human hair on the floor. They left a dirty cleaning cloth and bottle of 409 on top of the toilet. Like they were in the middle of cleaning, stopped to pee, and forgot to finish cleaning or flush the toilet. We have been spraying perfume in here constantly over the weekend to try to get rid of the offensive smell. The ceiling in the main bedroom has black mold. The ceiling in the living room has bead board and it is popping at the seams. The bunk room and the living room is missing some blinds on the windows. The sheets they gave us are yellow (should be originally white). The staff here is super friendly. They put us in the cabin directly behind the hall which was perfect for enjoying our campfire and the live band at the same time. Everything in the area is closed down so nothing really to do other than driving to another town or just staying within the campground. Undecided if we will come back again. We may. It’s just really tough getting past the smell and the feeling of dirty.
May 12, 2024 · Theresa RomanowskiWe stayed in Indian Acres this last weekend and the water smelled like rotten eggs. It was all the water spouts in that area (yes we checked). I didn't even want to shower and I had to brush my teeth with bottled water. Next we went to the pool and the public bathroom was disgusting!!!!! They smelled horrible, trash was over flowing, dead bugs all over the sinks, and hair in the showers. My husband said the men's bathrooms were the same with poop in the urinals. My 13yr son even commented on how gross they were. Definitely not worth the money to stay there.
