Blackhawk Campground Introduce
Looking for the perfect camping getaway right in your backyard? Blackhawk Campground, located at 3407 E Blackhawk Dr in Milton, WI, offers a diverse camping experience for both short-term visitors and long-term residents. Situated conveniently for those searching for "camping near me," Blackhawk Campground provides a range of amenities and natural beauty, making it an appealing option for families, RV enthusiasts, and anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors.
Nestled in the scenic landscape of Wisconsin, Blackhawk Campground boasts a prime location with direct access to Clear Lake. This picturesque lake is a significant feature, offering opportunities for various water activities. According to visitor feedback, kayaking on Clear Lake is a particularly enjoyable experience. Imagine spending your days paddling on the calm waters, surrounded by nature's tranquility. The campground also features a nice fishing pier, providing a dedicated spot for anglers to cast their lines and enjoy some peaceful time by the water. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or just looking to try your luck, the pier offers a convenient and accessible way to engage with the lake.
Beyond the natural attractions, Blackhawk Campground offers a variety of services and features designed to enhance your stay. For families with children, the well-kept and clean pool is a major highlight, providing a refreshing escape during warmer months. The presence of a nice playground further adds to the family-friendly atmosphere, giving kids a dedicated space to run, play, and socialize. These amenities ensure that both adults and children can find enjoyable ways to spend their time at the campground.
Blackhawk Campground goes the extra mile to create a vibrant and engaging community atmosphere, especially on weekends. Visitors have raved about the food trucks that frequent the campground, offering a diverse range of culinary delights without having to leave the premises. The weekend activities are another significant draw, with events like movie nights featuring free popcorn, and fun games such as candy bingo. These organized activities provide opportunities for campers to socialize, relax, and create lasting memories. The activity center is another valuable amenity, housing ping pong, air hockey, and foosball tables, which have proven to be a hit with younger guests, providing hours of entertainment.
The campground offers accommodation primarily for RVs, including spacious sites capable of hosting larger rigs, such as a 40-foot 5th wheel. While one reviewer described the campground as having a "trailer park" feel due to a significant number of annual residents, this can also foster a strong sense of community and a more settled environment. The presence of long-term residents can sometimes offer a different dynamic compared to campgrounds with a more transient population, potentially leading to a quieter and more predictable atmosphere in certain areas.
In terms of facilities, Blackhawk Campground provides essential amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The bathrooms and showers have been noted as being nice and well-maintained, which is a crucial aspect for any camper. The staff has also received positive feedback for their friendliness and helpfulness. One reviewer specifically mentioned the staff's assistance in relocating their RV site when leveling issues arose, highlighting their commitment to customer satisfaction.
However, like any campground, Blackhawk has areas where improvements could be made. One reviewer noted that the lodge appeared to be closed or used for storage, suggesting that a potentially valuable communal space might not be readily accessible to guests. Additionally, concerns were raised about the garage and overflowing dumpsters during one visitor's stay, indicating a potential need for better waste management practices. Site conditions can also vary, as one reviewer experienced a muddy and uneven site with standing water after rain. While the campground cannot control weather conditions, ensuring proper drainage and site maintenance is important for overall guest comfort.
Another point of feedback concerned off-leash or unattended dogs in the areas with annual residents. For pet owners or those who prefer a more controlled environment, this is a factor to consider. It's always advisable to inquire about the campground's pet policies and designated pet areas to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for everyone.
Despite these points for consideration, Blackhawk Campground offers a compelling option for those seeking "camping near me" in the Milton, Wisconsin area. Its proximity to Clear Lake, coupled with family-friendly amenities like the pool and playground, and engaging weekend activities, make it a potentially great destination for a local getaway. The friendly staff and the sense of community fostered by the long-term residents can also contribute to a positive camping experience.
For local users looking for a convenient and enjoyable camping experience, Blackhawk Campground presents a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Blackhawk Campground Reviews
My family and I enjoy staying at Blackhawk. Clear Lake is great for kayaking, the pool is well kept and clean. There are food trucks and various activities each weekend like movie nights with free popcorn, and candy bingo. There is also ping pong, air hockey, and foosball games in the activity center that our kids spend hours playing.
Aug 27, 2024 · Josh Nurczyk40 foot 5th wheel. Full time familyI would describe this as a trailer park with some RV spots. Lots of annuals which is not a bad thing but does have a different feel to it than a more traditional RV park with a more transient crowd.Pros:-Very nice fishing pier-Bathrooms and showers were nice- Nice playground- Staff was very friendly and helpful. We had to move sites because we couldn’t get our rig level. They were very helpful.Cons:-Lodge didn’t seem open or usable. Kind of looked like storage.- Garage seemed to be a major issue. They dumpsters were overflowing for most of our stay.- Our site was a sloppy mess and was mostly mud. We had a little lake in front of our site. The campus couldn’t control this obviously but still affected our stay.- I wouldn’t walk my dog around in the annual sites. Encountered quite a few off leash or unattended dogs outside.
May 31, 2024 · Emily OrserWe stayed in a cabin. Their computer glitched without their knowledge and they ended up putting us in a cabin that wasn’t ready. So things weren’t that clean. There was a TV but we had a hard time getting it to work. The WiFi worked. The pool heater was broken also, that was something we were looking forward to. However the grounds worker went above and beyond to make sure that everything went right. He switched the propane tanks so our stove worked. He checked the cabin over to make sure things worked. Another worker stopped by and made sure we had fresh towels. He gave us free dry wood. Unfortunately we had to leave early because of severe weather moving in. Overall, we felt very welcome and would camp here again.
May 25, 2024 · MkaMee MLWe had a very eventful weekend with having to not get any sleep the first night because the people across from us were screaming, playing music until 4am,and smashing beer bottles in the fire pit and having there dog run around barking all night! Then the following day i did go to the office and they spoke with the people and asked them to leave, also that day my family and i went down to the pool and basketball court and my son ended up spraining his ankle and we ended up having to leave (sat) to go to the hospital for that so we ended not coming back until Sunday to gather our belongings to find our brand new cooler gone, our underwater camera gone and our tent sliced all up (unrepairable)! At that time I immediately went back down to the office filled a report with the manger on and also called the police and they came out and took pictures and said they were going to do an investigation and make a report. At that time the manager said that I would be refunded for the weekend and also an insurance company/corporate would be reaching out to me and I called over 25 times and have yet to get any kind of solution.
Aug 23, 2024 · Cheyanne MarieThey overall experience for this place was pretty good. We stayed in a very nice cabin that was right next to the pool, which was nice, but unfortunately, it wasn't really the cleanest inside, and the beds were awful ( I see what all the reviews were talking about for the beds). 3 lakes to pick from if you like fishing, swimming, or going out on a boat. Golf carts are pretty decent priced, and just about every campsite has one. They have cool events that go on every few hours if you want extra things to do.
