Liar's Cove Resort Introduce
For local users in Washington State searching for "camping near me" in the Okanogan region, Liar's Cove Resort, located at 1835 Conconully Rd, Okanogan, WA 98840, presents a camping destination with mixed reviews regarding its pet policies and overall suitability. While some visitors have lauded its value and the evident care taken by the operators, others have reported negative experiences, particularly concerning their canine companions and a perceived lack of family-friendliness. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the limited customer feedback available, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects to help local users make informed decisions.
The environment surrounding Liar's Cove Resort is likely characterized by the natural beauty of the Okanogan region in Washington State. Okanogan County is known for its diverse landscapes, including lakes, rivers, forests, and mountains. Given its address on Conconully Road, the resort is likely situated in proximity to Conconully Lake or the surrounding wilderness areas, offering potential access to outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, and exploring the scenic beauty of the region. The specific ambiance of the resort itself, whether it is heavily wooded, offers open spaces, or is situated directly on the waterfront, is not detailed in the provided reviews, but the general area suggests a rural and potentially picturesque setting that attracts outdoor enthusiasts.
Information regarding the specific services offered at Liar's Cove Resort is limited in the provided reviews. One positive review mentions the "bang for your buck," which might suggest that the resort offers essential camping amenities at a competitive price point. This could include standard services such as designated campsites for tents and RVs, potential hookups for water and electricity at some sites, restroom facilities (which could range from basic to more developed), and possibly access to potable water. The fact that a reviewer travels from British Columbia, Canada, multiple times a year indicates that the resort likely provides a sufficient level of service to attract repeat international visitors. However, the negative review concerning a potential charge for dog barking raises questions about the enforcement of pet policies and the overall atmosphere for pet owners.
The features of Liar's Cove Resort are also somewhat inferred from the limited feedback. The positive review suggests that the resort is well-maintained and that the operators genuinely care about the property. This could translate to features such as clean facilities, well-kept grounds, and a generally pleasant aesthetic. The location near Conconully likely provides access to the natural attractions of the area, such as the lake for water sports and the surrounding terrain for hiking and wildlife viewing. However, the negative review explicitly advises against visiting with children, which could imply a lack of specific family-oriented features or a general atmosphere that is not conducive to young families. The conflicting information regarding pet-friendliness is a crucial feature to consider; while the resort claims to be dog-friendly, one customer's experience suggests that this might come with strict and potentially costly conditions related to normal dog behavior like barking.
The customer reviews for Liar's Cove Resort present a dichotomy of experiences. One reviewer from British Columbia expresses strong satisfaction, highlighting the value for money and the evident care taken in maintaining the resort. This positive feedback suggests that for some visitors, Liar's Cove Resort offers an affordable and well-managed camping experience that warrants repeat visits from international travelers. This speaks to a potentially positive environment and a level of service that meets the expectations of these guests.
Conversely, the other review recounts a "very bad experience" related to their dogs. Despite the resort claiming to be dog-friendly, this customer reported an attempted $50 charge for their dogs barking, which they did not consider excessive. This negative experience led the reviewer to state they would never return and would not recommend the resort to families with children either. This feedback raises significant concerns about the actual pet policies, the tolerance for normal pet behavior, and potentially the overall atmosphere of the resort, especially for those traveling with animals or young families.
Given the limited and conflicting nature of these reviews, it is challenging to ascertain definitive promotional information or to fully understand the current offerings of Liar's Cove Resort. Local users considering this campground are strongly advised to seek additional information from official sources, such as the resort's website (if available), or by contacting them directly via phone at (509) 826-1288 or mobile phone at +1 509-826-1288. Inquiries should specifically address the current pet policies, any associated fees or restrictions, and the general atmosphere and suitability for families with children. It would also be prudent to look for more recent reviews on other camping platforms to gain a broader perspective on the experiences of other visitors.
In conclusion, for local users searching for "camping near me" in the Okanogan area, Liar's Cove Resort presents a location with potentially good value and a cared-for property, as indicated by one review. However, the serious concerns raised by another visitor regarding the handling of dogs and the recommendation against bringing children warrant careful consideration. The discrepancy in these experiences highlights the importance of seeking further information directly from the resort and other review sources to ensure it meets the specific needs and expectations of individual campers, especially those traveling with pets or families. Without more comprehensive and consistent feedback, a fully objective recommendation is challenging, and potential visitors should weigh these contrasting perspectives in their decision-making process.

Liar's Cove Resort Reviews
We had a very bad experience with our dogs. They say they are dog friendly but they are not. They tried to charge us 50 because our dogs barked. They weren’t barking excessively either. I will never go here again. I wouldn’t go with kids either.
Feb 11, 2025 · Melody OylearThese people really care about this place, and it shows! I come down here from BC in Canada at least a couple times per year! You cannot beat the bang for your buck here!
Apr 25, 2025 · Hayden KlassenVery nice campground. Lake access with free access to kayak, pedal boat and aqua cycle . Though some of them were old or not well maintained, the kids had a lovely timewe had our spot reserved but when we arrived somebody parked his truck in our space and had to wait an hour to have his car removed. It would be nice that they enforced that people park in the designated sitesState park close to the camping with a nice playground as the playground of the camping is very old
Aug 06, 2023 · Adriana BottiI can't tell you how amazingly inviting this place is! I spent Mother's day weekend here with my son-and let me tell you-it was the best Mother's day I have had yet! The owners were so warm and inviting, and everyone was friendly and cheerful. We spent the weekend out on the beach, at the playground, the docks, the town of Conconully...it was so perfect. My son and I had a blast and we are so grateful for the wonderful hospitality we received at this resort. We didn't get a chance to fish, but there were so many fish visible and the lake seemed plentiful. My son keeps asking when we'll be going back and although it's a five hour drive, I assured him we'll be going back to Liar's Cove as much as humanly possible. I would highly recommend visiting to experience the beauty and love this place has to offer! P.S. There are plentiful off-roading and hiking trails in the area. As long as you are respectful, this small town seems to treat everyone as their own.
May 12, 2022 · Keala CowellI really want to give this a higher review but it’s been twice in a row now where we had issues. We’ve been going here for years, the previous owners had this place running pretty smooth, we never had any issues. The first year the new owners took over we got covid and had to cancel, didn’t get our money back or at least some after we talked to them on the phone about it, that wasn’t the big deal though. The rest of the family that could still go got their whole reservation messed up because the lady on the phone after we told her several times the first name and last name on the reservation, cancelled their reservation instead of ours. So it’s been a couple years now, we figured they were still getting a system down during that first experience, no biggy. Went back for a day trip recently and rented some motor boats. They both had several large spiders in the boat, ruined the time on the lake because we had to keep dealing with them, a couple of the kids were really uncomfortable being around that. And one of the motors on the boat seized to top it off. We talked to the owner (male) and he got a little defensive and said they were “friendly” spiders, ok but who wants to deal with that? Especially when you pay $50…one of us got our money refunded… and the paddle boats looked like they weren’t being cleaned/maintained at all. One of them looked like it was sinking. This place is so beautiful, and we love the resort, I just think all of these things need to be more maintained, and pay more attention to detail when handling customers reservations. Not sure we will be back, this was sadly just our experience. Hopefully in the future it gets better.
