Lilly Lake Campground

What a beautiful view. The shoreline is very marshy and muddy, but there is a small launch area that makes it easier to get your inflatables and small boats in. Mosquitoes were mild, which I found relieving. The public toilet by site 1 was one of the worst smelling I have ever been in. So, if you want a relaxing view and have your own toilet, you are set. Camp hosts were great to work with and very accessible. - Gail Singley

Lilly Lake Campground Introduce

Are you searching for "camping near me" and dreaming of a picturesque lakeside retreat in the stunning Uintah Mountains near Kamas, Utah? Lilly Lake Campground, located off UT-150, Kamas, UT 84036, USA, might offer the scenic beauty you seek. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground boasts breathtaking views and helpful staff, but also presents some environmental and amenity-related considerations that potential visitors should be aware of.

One of the most consistently praised features of Lilly Lake Campground is its undeniably beautiful view. A visitor enthusiastically exclaimed, "What a beautiful view." Another reviewer who didn't camp but fished and explored the area described it as a "gorgeous location in the uintahs!" They specifically noted that "the campground over looks the lake which is gorgeous in the morning with bright yellow lilies all over the lake, I've never seen anything like it before!" This vivid description paints a picture of a truly spectacular setting, particularly during the morning hours when the yellow lilies are in full bloom, offering a unique and memorable visual experience for campers and visitors alike.

For those interested in water activities, Lilly Lake offers some accessibility, albeit with certain limitations. One reviewer mentioned that "the shoreline is very marshy and muddy," which could make direct access to the lake for swimming or wading less appealing. However, they also noted that "there is a small launch area that makes it easier to get your inflatables and small boats in." This suggests that while the natural shoreline might be less conducive to general access, there is a designated spot for launching small watercraft, allowing visitors to enjoy the lake from the water.

Insect activity is a common concern for many campers, and one reviewer at Lilly Lake Campground found the mosquito situation to be surprisingly manageable. They stated, "Mosquitoes were mild, which I found relieving." This is a significant positive, as mild mosquito activity can greatly enhance the comfort and enjoyment of an outdoor camping experience, especially during warmer months when these insects are typically more prevalent.

In terms of facilities, Lilly Lake Campground offers public toilets, but the quality of at least one of these has been a point of concern. The reviewer who commented on the view also noted that "the public toilet by site 1 was one of the worst smelling I have ever been in." This is a significant drawback and a crucial piece of information for potential campers, especially those who rely on campground restrooms. If the condition of this toilet is representative of others in the campground, it could detract significantly from the overall camping experience. The reviewer's subsequent comment, "So, if you want a relaxing view and have your own toilet, you are set," strongly implies that having a self-contained toilet facility (within an RV or portable toilet) would be highly advantageous when staying at Lilly Lake Campground.

On a more positive note regarding services, the camp hosts at Lilly Lake Campground received high praise. The reviewer who mentioned the smelly toilet also stated that "Camp hosts were great to work with and very accessible." This indicates that the campground staff are helpful, responsive, and readily available to assist campers, which can greatly contribute to a positive and well-supported camping experience, especially for those who may have questions or require assistance during their stay.

The overall impression of Lilly Lake Campground is one of stunning natural beauty, particularly the unique sight of yellow lilies on the lake, set against the backdrop of the Uintah Mountains. The availability of a small boat launch allows for some enjoyment of the lake despite the marshy shoreline. The mild mosquito activity is a welcome bonus. However, the potentially poor condition of the public toilets is a significant drawback that campers should be prepared for. The positive interactions with the accessible and helpful camp hosts are another important factor to consider.

For local users searching for "camping near me" who prioritize breathtaking scenery and are equipped to handle potentially unpleasant public restroom facilities (or have their own toilet), Lilly Lake Campground could be a worthwhile destination. The opportunity to witness the yellow lilies on the lake, especially in the morning light, is described as a unique and unforgettable experience. The accessibility of the camp hosts also provides a sense of support and assistance during your stay.

However, potential campers should be prepared for the marshy and muddy shoreline, which might limit direct access to the lake for certain activities. If swimming or extensive shoreline exploration is a primary goal, Lilly Lake might not be the ideal choice. The significant issue with the smell of at least one public toilet is also a factor that cannot be overlooked, and it would be prudent to inquire about the condition of all restroom facilities when making a reservation or upon arrival.

To gather more specific information about campsite availability, the condition of all facilities (including toilets), and any current advisories or recommendations, local users are encouraged to contact Lilly Lake Campground directly using the provided phone numbers: (385) 273-1100 or +1 385-273-1100. Speaking with the camp hosts or management can provide valuable insights into the current conditions and help potential visitors make a more informed decision about whether Lilly Lake Campground meets their specific needs and expectations for a "camping near me" experience.

In conclusion, Lilly Lake Campground offers a visually stunning location in the Uintah Mountains, renowned for its unique display of yellow lilies on the lake. The camp hosts are reported to be great to work with and very accessible. However, the marshy shoreline and the potentially poor condition of the public toilets are significant drawbacks that prospective campers must consider. If you prioritize scenic beauty and are prepared for these limitations, Lilly Lake Campground could offer a memorable camping experience. Don't hesitate to contact the campground directly for the most up-to-date information before planning your visit.
