Lone Pine Campsite Introduce
Are you searching for the perfect "camping near me" in a picturesque setting with convenient access to local attractions? Look no further than Lone Pine Campsite, nestled at 52 Sunset View Rd, Colchester, VT 05446, USA. This established campground has been creating memorable camping experiences for generations, offering a blend of natural beauty and accessible amenities. Whether you're a local resident seeking a weekend escape or planning a longer stay, Lone Pine Campsite provides a base to explore the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture of Vermont, particularly its proximity to Burlington.
Environment:
Lone Pine Campsite offers a camping environment that aims to connect visitors with nature. While specific details about the natural landscape within the campground aren't extensively detailed in the provided information, its location in Colchester, Vermont, suggests a setting characterized by the region's natural charm. This typically includes a blend of wooded areas, open spaces, and potentially views of the surrounding landscape. The mention of "Sunset View Rd" hints at the possibility of scenic views, particularly during sunset. Being close to Burlington also means that campers have easy access to the shores of Lake Champlain and the Green Mountains, offering opportunities for hiking, water activities, and enjoying Vermont's renowned natural beauty just a short drive away.
Based on customer feedback, it's important to note that some reviewers found the online photos to be potentially misleading regarding the size and spacing of campsites. One review mentioned that the sites are "incredibly small," which might be a consideration for those with larger camping setups. It's advisable to inquire about site dimensions when making a reservation to ensure it meets your needs.
Services and Amenities:
Lone Pine Campsite strives to offer a range of services to make your stay comfortable. According to one positive review, the workers are dedicated to providing a "wonderful & genuine camping experience." While specific details about all services aren't listed, the mention of "bathrooms were somewhat clean" suggests the presence of restroom facilities. However, a point of feedback indicated that these facilities might not always be "kept up as it should be," which is something to be aware of.
The campground also features recreational amenities. One review mentioned playgrounds with swings, although it noted that these are "old and not kept up." Additionally, the presence of pools is indicated, with a reviewer mentioning that during a busy weekend, only one of the two pools was open, leading to overcrowding. This suggests that Lone Pine Campsite typically offers swimming pools as an amenity, which can be a significant draw, especially during the warmer months. It would be beneficial to confirm the operational status of the pools and the condition of the playgrounds when booking.
Features:
A significant feature of Lone Pine Campsite is its convenient location. The positive review explicitly mentions its proximity to Burlington, making it easy for campers to access "great dining and shopping." This blend of a camping experience with the accessibility of urban amenities is a notable advantage. You can enjoy the tranquility of a campsite while having the option to explore Burlington's restaurants, shops, and cultural attractions just a short drive away.
Another highlighted feature is the sense of community. The positive review notes a "great upstanding community" within the campground, suggesting a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for visitors. This can enhance the overall camping experience, especially for those who appreciate a social and connected environment.
However, it's important to balance these positive aspects with the feedback regarding the size of the campsites. If you value spaciousness and privacy at your campsite, this might be a point to consider further when planning your stay.

Lone Pine Campsite Reviews
Great place to stay! Worked here over the summer and can't say enough good about this place. The workers really care about giving people a wonderful & genuine camping experience. The owners have been bringing smiles to folks for generations at Lone Pine. Its close to Burlington for great dining and shopping. Not to mention a wonderful spot to stay all season with a great upstanding community. 110% recommend 👍👍👍
Feb 20, 2025 · Mi BouMuch to be desired. The photos online are misleading to say the least. Stayed over memorial day weekend, and the campground was packed. They did not have both pools opened so the pool was over crowded. The playgrounds with swings, are old and not kept up. The sites are incredibly small. I should not have to wait for the adjacent camper to leave so I can get my rig out. Employees were fine, bathrooms were somewhat clean, but not kept up as it should be. It is close to many area attractions which is appealing, and it is the nicest campground in the area, just wish the price matched the quality.
May 28, 2024 · Brandon CordeiroWhat a beautiful, clean, quiet, camp ground to stay at! We enjoyed ourselves there so much we would definitely stay there again! Easy access to the bike trails near by the camp grounds and two very clean well kept pools. The showers and restrooms are super clean! The people who run it are very friendly and helpful! What a great place to camp at we highly recommend Lone Pine Camp ground!
Jul 13, 2024 · Sonya SartoriWe love it here - it’s so close to everything. All the restaurants and bars and shopping (all within 15 min). For anyone complaining about the highway noise, you can see on google maps that it’s right off a highway so…kind of use your head a little bit here. We are the first spot in the upper lot. The upper lot is much quieter for sure but still noisy from the highway. Honestly don’t even notice it. We are right next to the pool so I guess we should complain about kids having fun too? 😂 Come onThis place has putt putt golf, pickleball, two heated pools and a dog park, lots of walking space and plenty of space between rigs, a convenience store that has all the staples and quarters for the laundry room. Laundry room is big with tons of machines. Scott (who works here) has been the most friendly guy we have dealt with at any campground since we started RVing. He came over at 9pm when we first got here to make sure we got in safely and hooked up. No other place has done that. Also, they keep the grounds spotless. There are bike trails across the street and the the lake is two blocks from here and an awesome gravel bike trail a few miles away that will take you halfway across the lake itself! Beautiful sunsets at the park which is a few miles away and there is volleyball basketball and other fields there as wellSo many places to hike and I’ve never seen as many breweries in one small area as I have here in this area of VT.I’ve been incredibly happy here and looking at booking a whole summer next yearI think they do a great job here - don’t listen to the naysayers!
Jun 19, 2024 · KimfogsScott is by far the BEST campground manager I’ve ever met. He was there at 9pm to help me park my rig, he came over with firewood when ours ran out, and he always greets you with a huge smile! the campground is phenomenal, nice big lots, grassy and not muddy, and great facilities. close to everything (town, bike trails, hiking, lake champlain).
