Salisbury Beach Campground Introduce
For local camping enthusiasts seeking a "camping near me" experience with direct access to the coast, Salisbury Beach Campground in Salisbury, Massachusetts, located at Salisbury, MA 01952, USA, and reachable by phone at (978) 462-4481 or mobile at +1 978-462-4481, offers a location-centric option. Reviews indicate that its primary appeal lies in its proximity to Salisbury Beach and the convenience it provides for beachgoers and those interested in boating. While some aspects of the infrastructure are noted as older and worn, recent improvements in cleanliness and boardwalks suggest an ongoing effort to enhance the guest experience. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the environment, services, and features based on the available customer feedback, allowing local users to make an informed decision about this coastal campground.
The environment of Salisbury Beach Campground is undeniably its key attraction, with reviewers repeatedly highlighting its location near Salisbury Beach. The availability of inlet beachside sites offers campers direct access to the beach, a significant advantage for those wanting to spend time by the ocean. The presence of a boat ramp is another notable environmental feature, providing convenient access for boaters to launch into the water. One reviewer mentioned that the boat ramp was often empty on weekdays, even during the peak season of August, suggesting ease of use for those with boats. While the overall setting is coastal and offers the natural beauty of the beach, some reviewers noted that the campground can get very crowded during peak season, potentially impacting the sense of peace and privacy. However, during the end of the season, one visitor described it as peaceful and quiet. The improvements in boardwalks and beach bathrooms suggest an effort to enhance the infrastructure related to beach access and convenience. Despite the age of some infrastructure, the focus on cleanliness in recent times indicates an ongoing commitment to maintaining a pleasant environment for campers.
The services at Salisbury Beach Campground include essential amenities for a comfortable stay. The availability of hookups at the campsites is mentioned, catering to RV campers and those who require electricity. The presence of bathhouses with showers is noted, although one reviewer pointed out issues with drainage in the showers of at least one bathhouse (B/A) and the absence of shower curtains, which could affect the overall usability and comfort. Coin-operated laundry facilities are typically expected at campgrounds, although not explicitly mentioned in these reviews. The presence of a boat ramp is a significant service for those with boats, providing direct access to the water. While not a service, the reception or office would likely handle check-in, provide information, and address any concerns. The fact that the campground accommodated a last-minute one-night stay at the end of the season suggests a degree of flexibility in their service. However, the high price point, especially during peak season, is a factor that local users should consider in relation to the services provided.
The features of Salisbury Beach Campground are primarily centered around its coastal access and boating facilities. The direct beach walk access from the inlet beachside sites is a major feature for beach lovers. The boat ramp provides a valuable amenity for those wishing to engage in boating activities. The availability of hookups caters to RVs and campers needing electrical connections. The improvements to boardwalks and beach bathrooms aim to enhance the convenience and comfort for beachgoers using the campground. While the campground is noted for having a large number of sites, which can lead to crowding during peak season, this also means ample availability during less popular times. The fact that the campground is open for seasonal camping allows local users to enjoy the coastal environment for an extended period. However, the high cost, especially during peak season, might be a deterrent for some, particularly when weighed against the age of some of the infrastructure and potential lack of privacy due to the number of sites.
The provided reviews do not explicitly mention any specific promotional offers or discounts for Salisbury Beach Campground. However, for local users considering a stay, it would be prudent to inquire about seasonal rates, weekday specials, or any potential discounts for residents of Massachusetts or nearby areas. Given the reviewer's comment about the high price ($80 for one night with hookups at the end of the season), it is clear that cost can be a significant factor, especially during peak times when prices are likely to be even higher. Local users should check the official website or contact the campground directly at (978) 462-4481 or +1 978-462-4481 to get the most accurate information on current rates and any available promotions. Inquiring about off-season rates might also be beneficial for those with flexible travel dates. Additionally, checking with local tourism boards or camping associations could reveal potential discounts or packages that include a stay at Salisbury Beach Campground.
In conclusion, Salisbury Beach Campground offers local users a prime coastal location in Salisbury, MA, with direct beach access and a convenient boat ramp. While some of the infrastructure is noted as older, recent improvements in cleanliness and boardwalks are positive developments. The availability of hookups caters to RV campers, and the peaceful atmosphere reported during the off-season can be appealing. However, the high cost, especially during peak season, and the potential for crowding are factors to consider. Local users who prioritize beach access and boating convenience and are willing to accept the older infrastructure and potential lack of privacy during busy times might find this campground suitable. It is recommended to contact the campground directly to inquire about current rates and any available promotions to make the most informed decision for your "camping near me" experience.

Salisbury Beach Campground Reviews
We have been camping here for many years, mainly for the location. The cleaning this year is much improved over last year, but some of the infrastructure is very old and worn. Showers in B/A bathhouse don't drain and there are no shower curtains so it's hard to keep your towel and clothes dry. Boardwalks and beach bathrooms have been improved. Boat ramp is handy and pretty much empty on week days even in August.
Aug 03, 2024 · Bryn DewsCame at the end of the season for one night in our 25' self-contained on our way to Nova Scotia - it was peaceful and quiet and well maintained. Had an inlet beach side site. Beach walk access is close and convenient. There are LOADS of sites though and it was around $80 for one night with hookups - these are very high city prices for s state park. Although it was mostly empty when we stayed, we personally would never pay this much during peak and are grateful we didn't have to endure the massive crowding that is surely potential here. If we weren't in a time bind, we would have stayed elsewhere for better value and better privacy (depending on the time of year).
Oct 08, 2024 · Tim HarringtonHaving the beach at a walking distance is the only positive side of the campground. Beware last time we went there we paid around 40$/night. Now it's 84$USD which is waaayyyy too much for what it is. We pay this kind of price for a private where we will have a pool, a game room, etc... There is no privacy, you're in a field, you need at least 4 hoses and a 75 ft electric chord to reach your outlet. Disappointed with the exaggerated price increases...
Apr 15, 2024 · Mathieu GalipeauWe stayed for 2 nights and loved the campsite. You can walk to the beach, enjoy the beautiful views all around, and the kids can have fun at the playground. The restrooms were clean and convenient but the only issue we had was that the toilet paper wasn't fully restocked in all the stalls one of the mornings. Bring your bicycles for more fun! They have a camp store for any essentials needed.
Jun 14, 2023 · Punam PatelHad a wonderful overnight stay in a tent-only site in a nearly fully booked weekend in early August. We arrived early so they just have us a beach parking pass for the weekend until our site was clear. Shockingly clean bathrooms, and a little cash only camp store with most of the essentials including firewood. Helpful and chill staff at check in, much like one would expect at any state campground. The site was big and included a water hookup, waist-high charcoal stove, ground fire pit, and electricity (!!). We had an amazing view of the marsh at sunset, and a little tree where we hung our rain fly. Perhaps I was lucky being in the tent area but despite the fact that it was packed, everyone was very respectful of the quiet hours. Minutes to the beach for swimming, and boat launch where we used our kayaks to look at amazing wildlife including cranes, herons, sparrows, cormorants, and the occasional seal!! I will definitely be back!!
