Are you searching for a "camping near me" experience that combines a potentially beautiful camping environment with outstanding customer service and the added convenience of boat rentals? Look no further than Shady Brook Campground & Boat Rental, LLC, located at 275 Campground Ln, Beavertown, PA 17813, USA. Even though one reviewer didn't get to stay due to a location mix-up, their interaction with the management speaks volumes about the welcoming nature of this campground. Combined with another glowing review highlighting exceptional service and a friendly atmosphere, Shady Brook Campground appears to be a top contender for local users seeking a memorable outdoor getaway.
The first review, while noting the camper's inability to stay due to a distance issue, provides significant positive feedback regarding the management. Brenda, identified as the manager or owner, is described as "more then patient and more then responsive" to calls and messages. Her understanding and accommodating nature when the reviewer had to cancel their reservation last minute left a lasting positive impression. The reviewer concluded by stating that Brenda was "just over all a delight to speak with," indicating a high level of professionalism and customer care. This initial interaction suggests that guests at Shady Brook Campground can expect to be treated with respect and understanding from the moment they inquire or book.
The second review offers even more detailed praise for the campground and its staff, particularly highlighting the exceptional customer service. The reviewer stated, "There are few places in this world that still have the customer service that this camp ground offer." This is a powerful testament to the dedication and care provided at Shady Brook Campground. Dave, presumably another key staff member or owner, is commended for going "above and beyond every day to insure his guest have everything they need." This suggests a proactive and attentive approach to guest satisfaction, where staff members are genuinely invested in making sure campers have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Beyond just addressing immediate needs, Dave is also described as having a "wealth of the knowledge of the area" and being "always willing to help you plan your day and give very good directions." This additional service can be invaluable for local users and visitors alike, providing insights into nearby attractions, activities, and ensuring that guests can easily navigate the surrounding region. This willingness to assist with trip planning adds significant value to the overall camping experience, transforming it from just a place to stay into a gateway for local exploration.
The positive atmosphere of Shady Brook Campground extends beyond the staff to the other campers. The reviewer noted that "the other campers are also very friendly and willing to help," regardless of whether they are permanent residents or weekend visitors. This sense of community and camaraderie can greatly enhance the social aspect of camping, making it a more enjoyable and welcoming experience for everyone. The willingness of fellow campers to assist one another fosters a positive and supportive environment within the campground.
Based on its name, Shady Brook Campground & Boat Rental, LLC, it's highly likely that the environment features a shady, possibly wooded area, creating a pleasant and comfortable camping setting, especially during warmer months. The presence of a "brook" suggests a natural water feature within or near the campground, which could add to the scenic beauty and provide opportunities for relaxation or wildlife viewing. The "Boat Rental, LLC" part of the name clearly indicates that one of the key features of this campground is the availability of boat rentals, catering to those who wish to explore nearby waterways, likely the Susquehanna River given the general location in Pennsylvania.
The address in Beavertown, PA, places Shady Brook Campground within the Susquehanna Valley region, known for its natural beauty and outdoor recreational opportunities. Campers can likely expect to be surrounded by the scenic landscapes of central Pennsylvania, with potential access to hiking trails, fishing spots, and other attractions in the area. The availability of boat rentals directly from the campground makes it particularly appealing for those interested in exploring the Susquehanna River or other nearby bodies of water.
While the reviews extensively praise the customer service and friendly atmosphere, specific details about the campground's amenities are not fully outlined. However, based on the fact that it's a campground and offers boat rentals, we can infer some likely features. Campers can probably expect to find campsites suitable for tents and RVs, although the specific types of hookups and site sizes are not mentioned. Restroom and shower facilities are a common expectation at campgrounds, although their condition and availability are not detailed in the reviews. The boat rental service itself is a significant feature, suggesting access to a nearby body of water and the availability of boats for guests to rent.
Other potential amenities that are not explicitly mentioned but are common at campgrounds could include picnic tables, fire rings or designated campfire areas, water hookups at some sites, and possibly recreational areas. Local users interested in specific amenities should contact Shady Brook Campground directly to inquire about their availability.

Shady Brook Campground & Boat Rental, LLC Reviews
We did not stay there because of my mix up with the locations of this one and another one 2 hours away, shady brook looks like it would be an amazing place to camp but it was a bit farther then we could manage to go, we hope to go someday as the manager/owner I’m not sure exactly Brenda was more then patient and more then responsive to my calls and messages, no problem when I had to cancel my reservation last minute and just over all a delight to speak with, thank you so much once again!

Sep 12, 2021 · Melissa fisherPlease save yourself the money and pure frustration.First and foremost, the new owners will make a lot of big promises… that so far have not came to fruition. Before the camping season even started there were a lot of promises about a whole new playground being fully completed, every site having septic… then opening season started and.. that’s when they STARTED the playground (still not finished) and only half the sites had septic. The playground is half done. Septic is half done. Haven’t seen their two workers in a long time and they packed up the heavy machinery weeks ago so it’s probably not getting done this year. The fishing pond never got started. Beginning of the season they released an activities page with themed weekends… they made it to FATHERS DAY before they just.. gave up. Even then they didn’t do half the stuff they listed. It consisted of a breakfast. They didn’t do the “crafts for dad” or anything else that was listed. The only consistent activity was bingo if there were enough players. Currently all the activities being done are being planned and hosted by campers. The one owner has been too busy dating his 20 year old girlfriend that camps with her family to care about doing the few things that should be getting done. And the other is perpetually on vacation or partying/gambling to be able to do anything. The pool.. is a struggle. It started good. Quickly went bad. Blamed it on kids jumping in the pool. Fixed it. And then past few weeks it has started to get green and gross again. And it’s definitely because of lack of maintenance. Which is a shame. It’s heated so it could stay open later in the season if they wanted to but they clearly don’t want the hassle of just dumping some chemicals. It’s because they’re sick and some family problems… except before that they had other excuses. They are chock full of them. The store is never open. People never get their electric bills when they should and it’s not uncommon to have to pay for multiple months at a time when they finally feel like reading the meters. Empty sites grass is never mowed. They rely on campers to do too much, campers who paid $3200 for no activities, and minimal amenities.. who paid $3200 to be consistently lied to for the camping season. Who paid $3200 for their kids to be blamed for things when it was just lack of maintenance. They aren’t upfront. The selling point was their 3 year plan. That has already pivoted to a 5 year plan. But you wouldn’t know that unless you’re on their Facebook page where they casually switched from 3 to 5 in comments. They must have realized how angry people are (I hear comments from new people every time we are there) and sense their money is in trouble for next season so the promises of doing better have started but don’t buy it. Even a week or two before opening this year they were promising the sewer would be fully done and the playground would be finished.. and it wasn’t. Their word means nothing.
