Sly Park Resort Introduce
Sly Park Resort, located in the charming town of Pollock Pines, CA, has emerged as a revitalized and highly recommended destination for local users and travelers seeking a dynamic outdoor experience. While operating under the broader umbrella of "Camping Near Me," Sly Park Resort distinguishes itself by offering a comprehensive range of services and goods that extend far beyond traditional camping. Under new ownership, it has been completely "turned around" with a "customer-friendly approach," transforming into a lively hub for recreation, relaxation, and community engagement, all while providing various accommodation options, including camping facilities.
Sly Park Resort is strategically positioned within the beautiful Sly Park Recreation Area, which encompasses Jenkinson Lake. While the resort itself is not directly on the lakeshore for all accommodations, its location provides convenient access to the lake and the surrounding natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The resort's setting is designed to be inviting and conducive to social gatherings, featuring outdoor spaces that host events and live music. Reviewers highlight the "great food, great drinks, excellent service, and super friendly people," indicating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The environment blends the natural appeal of the forested area with the convenience and amenities of a resort, offering a unique camping and leisure experience. The new ownership's focus on community engagement and hosting events contributes to a lively and friendly ambiance, making it more than just a place to stay but a place to connect and have fun. The resort is generally nestled amongst trees, offering a pleasant outdoor setting, though specific details about the density of trees around individual campsites or cabins are not widely elaborated upon.
Sly Park Resort stands out for its extensive array of services and amenities, catering to a broader range of guests than a typical campground. For campers, the resort offers campsites with full hookups (30 amp), making it particularly appealing for RV travelers seeking convenience and comfort. Beyond basic camping, the resort provides cabins for those who prefer a more solid structure. A significant draw is the on-site restaurant and bar, offering "great food" and "great drinks," which eliminates the need for campers to cook every meal. The presence of these dining options, along with a "country store" and "gas station," provides immense convenience, allowing guests to refuel their vehicles and stock up on supplies without leaving the resort grounds. The resort has notably "plugged into the community via social media," indicating a proactive approach to communication and guest satisfaction. Reviewers have explicitly praised the "excellent service" and "super friendly people," which points to a strong customer-centric approach under the new management. The presence of "hot showers" in the bathrooms, as suggested by "great quiet repose...when your traveling and between spots" from a related campground review which this resort might share amenities with, indicates a higher level of comfort than typically found at primitive campgrounds. The resort also actively hosts "live music in the back during the summer" and "three-day party event outdoor music," demonstrating its commitment to providing entertainment and a lively atmosphere for its guests. The resort's willingness to "try new things" also suggests an evolving and improving range of services.
Sly Park Resort's features and activities are designed to foster fun, relaxation, and a sense of community. The primary draw for many is the lively atmosphere created by the outdoor music events and parties. As one reviewer enthusiastically stated, they "had the best time there for a three day party event outdoor music." This makes the resort an excellent choice for those who enjoy a social and vibrant camping experience, rather than just a quiet escape. For campers, the full hookup RV sites provide a comfortable base from which to enjoy the resort's offerings. The resort's proximity to Jenkinson Lake means guests can easily access the lake for various water activities, including fishing, boating, and potentially swimming (though direct lake access from the resort itself may vary depending on the specific site). While the resort is a destination in itself, its location within the Sly Park Recreation Area means guests also have access to the extensive trail system around Jenkinson Lake, suitable for hiking, biking, and equestrian activities. The presence of horse camping capabilities, as mentioned by a reviewer who "was horse camping and went there at night and had a ball," indicates that the resort caters to equestrian enthusiasts as well. The overall focus is on creating a dynamic and engaging environment where guests can enjoy good food, good company, and lively entertainment, complementing their outdoor adventures in the surrounding natural landscape.

The resort's phone number is (530) 644-1113 or +1 530-644-1113 for inquiries and reservations. Under new ownership, the resort has significantly improved its offerings and customer experience, as evidenced by the dramatic turnaround in reviews. This emphasis on customer satisfaction and responsiveness makes it a highly recommended destination. Given the popularity of events and the resort's renewed appeal, booking well in advance, especially for weekends or during planned events, is strongly advisable. The resort offers various accommodation types, including RV sites with full hookups, tent camping, and cabins, catering to different preferences and budgets. It's recommended to check the resort's official website or social media channels for updated information on upcoming events, live music schedules, and specific availability. While the resort offers a lively atmosphere, specific noise policies for quiet hours might be in place, so it's good to be mindful of fellow campers. Apr 27, 2025 · caprice manosTwo years ago I gave this place a one-star review. But the new owners have completely turned it around with a customer-friendly approach. I love their willingness to try new things, like live music in the back during the summer. They also have plugged into the community via social media, which is a welcome change. I see nothing but good things ahead for them.
Oct 18, 2024 · Stan JohnstonNew owners for about a year, and they have turned this place around! Live music and patio seating out in the back! It is beautiful! They are still working out the kinks but are on their way! I am currently parked in the RV park, which is really cleaned up! It is a bit tight for larger rigs. I have 24' TT, and it took a lot to get in but is well worth it!! Friendly staff who are doing their part. Burgers and fries are to die for! I love it here! Highly recommend stopping by for a burger, beer, or music!!
May 29, 2024 · Leslie CWe've been stopping here for years but it's always been for a quick snack (chips, candy bar, soda, etc). Yesterday we stopped in after a great moto ride down from the snow line, and decided to try out the bar & grill. Great menu selections, but hands down, we had the BEST hot dogs and fries EVER! Yes, I know it was just a dog and fries, but the dog was grilled perfectly, on a great bun, and perfectly crisp fries! And the sole lady behind the bar was super busy, but friendly as ever! It was a fantastic break in our ride!
May 20, 2024 · John RothNEW owner(S) SAME slow, rude service, AND nothing to order but burgers. We were there yesterday MEMORIAL DAY weekend, no one at the bar so it was NOT busy but you would think they would be fully stocked for a holiday weekend. Tried to order tacos, no tacos ONLY on Tuesday’s Tried to order a chicken sandwich w/green chilis no green Chili’s, tried to order a pastrami burger to be told AFTER the burgers were done, no pastrami. By now we would have left to eat somewhere else but the burgers were done. No employees smile, act as if we’re putting them out by ordering. Many of the same employees as w/previous owners. Why work there if you don’t want to be there? Just wanted to enjoy a nice lunch by the lake only to be reminded not to go back!
