Strawberry Point Campground Introduce
For those seeking an idyllic lakeside escape when searching for "Camping Near Me" in the beautiful High Sierra region of California, Strawberry Point Campground at Ice House Lake emerges as a highly sought-after destination. Located at an Unnamed Road, CA, USA, within the vicinity of Ice House Reservoir, this campground is a favorite among visitors for its direct access to the water and stunning scenic beauty. It offers a distinct camping experience, particularly appealing to those who prioritize water activities and picturesque views.
The environment of Strawberry Point Campground is its defining characteristic and a major draw for campers. It is consistently referred to as "one of my favorite spots at Ice House," primarily due to its exceptional proximity to Ice House Lake. The campground boasts "multiple locations that offer access to the lake," providing convenient entry points for various water-based activities. The presence of "beaches that are great for swimming and kayaking" further enhances the appeal of the lakeside environment, allowing campers to fully immerse themselves in aquatic recreation. Beyond the immediate water access, the campground offers "Great views," likely encompassing vistas of the serene lake and the surrounding forested mountains. This combination of water access and scenic beauty creates a truly captivating and refreshing atmosphere. However, it's important to note the nature of the campsites themselves within this desirable environment. Reviews indicate "Very small spaces" and describe it as "Very compact camping." This suggests that while the overall setting is beautiful, the individual campsites are closely situated, which may impact the sense of privacy for some campers. Despite the compactness, the allure of the lake and the views remains a strong draw.
In terms of services, Strawberry Point Campground is primarily focused on providing essential camping infrastructure that supports its core feature: lakeside access. While specific details on traditional campground services like restrooms, showers, or dump stations are not provided in the given reviews, its nature as a public campground (implied by the informal address and popular reviews) typically means basic facilities are available, such as vault toilets and potable water spigots. The emphasis from customer feedback is squarely on the recreational opportunities facilitated by the environment itself. The "multiple locations that offer access to the lake" serve as a key service, enabling activities like swimming and kayaking directly from the campground. The "beaches" act as natural amenities, providing convenient entry points to the water. Given the "very compact camping" and "very small spaces," campers are likely expected to be relatively self-sufficient, bringing their own gear and amenities for their stay. The focus is on providing a base camp for enjoying the natural features, rather than extensive on-site services or recreational facilities like playgrounds or game rooms found in larger, more developed campgrounds.
The key features of Strawberry Point Campground revolve around its integration with Ice House Lake and its appeal for water-based recreation. The most prominent feature is undoubtedly the direct and easy "access to the lake," which is a significant advantage for those who enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing by the water's edge. The existence of "beaches" further enhances the lake experience, offering sandy or gravelly spots ideal for setting up a day by the water. Despite its compact nature, described by reviewers as having "about 10 campsites" that are "Very small spaces," and where "Very large buses and rvs are spilling over into the street," the campground still manages to provide "Great views." This suggests that even within its tighter layout, the strategic positioning of the sites allows campers to enjoy the scenic beauty of the area. This "compact camping" environment often fosters a sense of community among campers, as everyone shares the common appreciation for the stunning lakeside location. The campground accommodates both tent campers and RVs, though large vehicles might find maneuvering and parking challenging due to the small spaces.
For promotional information aimed at attracting users searching for "Camping Near Me," Strawberry Point Campground should unequivocally highlight its prime lakeside location and the associated water activities. The primary message should be that it's "one of my favorite spots at Ice House" due to "access to the lake and the beaches are great for swimming and kayaking." The promise of "Great views" is a powerful visual appeal. While acknowledging the "small spaces" and "very compact camping," this can be framed as part of its intimate, popular lakeside charm. It's crucial to set expectations accurately regarding campsite size, especially for those with "Very large buses and rvs," advising them to plan accordingly or potentially seek alternative arrangements if spacious sites are a top priority. Promoting the campground as an ideal spot for summer recreation, particularly for those who love being on or by the water, would be effective. The sentiment of looking forward to "visiting this place again next summer" from a real customer serves as a strong testimonial, indicating high satisfaction and repeat visitation. By focusing on its unique strengths as a beautiful, accessible lakeside camping spot, Strawberry Point Campground can continue to attract its ideal clientele seeking a memorable water-centric outdoor experience.

Strawberry Point Campground Reviews
Strawberry Point campground is one of my favorite spots at Ice House. There are multiple locations that offer access to the lake and the beaches are great for swimming and kayaking. We're looking forward to visiting this place again next summer.
Jul 15, 2024 · David J CamarenaThere are about 10 campsites. Very small spaces. Very large buses and rvs are spilling over into the street. Very compact camping. Great views.
Jul 01, 2024 · S OI love Strawberry Point Campground. It's quite. It's small so it's not alot of people. There is a private camp across the way which you can hear the kids sometimes but for the most part it's pretty quiet. The water is so beautiful. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the first time I went back in 2018 the vault restroom they have they would come clean every morning. Now they don't come clean it at all. It's very unpleasant to smell and camping with children it kinda sucks. I had to drive to the store 10-15 minutes away to use a clean port-a-potty. Which is ridiculous when you have to pay $10 a day for camping.
Jul 11, 2021 · Tiara CooksStrawberry campground WOULD be great if it wasn't for a place called Mountain Camp. A structure that people pay to go camping and have activities. They are rude beyond belief, scream and holler half the night. Tromp right thru your camp. Swamped my kyack yesterday evening doing didos in a boat about 100 ft away from me. So..will not go back to Strawberry Campground at Ice House Lake.
Jun 07, 2019 · LindaAbsolutely beautiful here. Not much for facilities. There is a trash and a bathroom. No running water so bring water and sunscreen.
