I wish I could give this place for the new owners a 5 star rating, and I would have if things weren't going to change. I came down through like I do every summer, and talked with some old tenants and they tell me they are getting kicked out because the new owners won't renew their lease. it breaks my heart because these people have always only known black lake and everyone got along with everyone, kids running around and having fun, and enjoying the lake view and fishing all the time and it's been there second home since they were babies. Now you're taking away there child hood home and escape from reality. I hope the new owners realize what they are losing, guaranteed money from these tenants who have been here 10+ years but let's kick them out and make it into more of an rv setting even though the north country has enough of those. Rant over. - Ashley Turnbull

The Lake Club at Black Lake Introduce

For local residents in the Hammond, New York area and those familiar with Black Lake searching for "camping near me," The Lake Club at Black Lake, located at 2952 County Rte 6, Hammond, NY 13646, USA, presents a location with a history and recent changes that potential local users should be aware of. While no phone number is provided in the available information, the address allows for locating the property. The recent customer reviews paint a picture of a campground undergoing a transition in ownership and management, which appears to be impacting long-term tenants and the overall atmosphere. Local users considering this location for their camping needs should carefully consider these recent perspectives.

The environment of The Lake Club at Black Lake is undoubtedly a significant aspect for those seeking "camping near me" in this region. Black Lake is known for its appeal to anglers and its scenic lakefront setting. The name "The Lake Club" suggests a location with direct access to the lake, potentially offering lake views and opportunities for water-based activities such as fishing and boating. Historically, as mentioned by one reviewer, the location fostered a sense of community among long-term tenants, with children enjoying the lake view and fishing. This paints a picture of a potentially beautiful and enjoyable environment centered around Black Lake. However, the recent changes in ownership seem to be shifting the focus, with one reviewer expressing concern that the new owners intend to transition the property into "more of an rv setting." If this shift occurs, the traditional environment that long-term tenants and possibly other local users have come to expect might change. Potential local campers should inquire about the current environment and the types of camping or accommodation primarily offered.

The services and features at The Lake Club at Black Lake are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. However, we can infer some possibilities based on the mention of long-term tenants and the potential shift towards an RV setting. Historically, it seems the location accommodated seasonal or long-term tenants, possibly with amenities catering to this type of stay. These might have included designated areas for permanent or semi-permanent setups, access to utilities (water, electricity, sewer, although not specified), and communal areas fostering a sense of community. The potential move towards an RV-centric model suggests that future services might heavily emphasize RV hookups, potentially including full hookups. The availability of other amenities typically found at campgrounds, such as restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, picnic areas, and fire pits, is not mentioned in the reviews related to the new ownership. The negative reviews focus more on the management changes and their impact on tenants rather than the physical amenities themselves. Local users considering The Lake Club at Black Lake should directly inquire about the current services and features available to short-term campers or RVers to ensure they meet their needs.

The features of The Lake Club at Black Lake, based on the historical perspective from one reviewer, included a strong sense of community, a family-friendly atmosphere with children playing and enjoying the lake, and the appeal of a "second home" for long-term tenants. The direct access to Black Lake and its fishing opportunities was also a significant feature. However, the recent change in ownership appears to be altering these features. The potential shift towards an RV setting and the non-renewal of leases for long-term tenants suggest a move away from the established community and perhaps a different focus for the campground. One reviewer expresses concern that the "north country has enough" RV parks, implying that the unique character that The Lake Club at Black Lake might have held for long-term residents could be lost. Another concerning feature highlighted in the second review is the alleged untrustworthiness of the new owners ("The Ruperts do not keep their word, they lied to us if you deal with them get it in writing cause you can not trust their word!") and reports of broken promises and potentially illegal actions affecting tenants. These are significant points that local users should consider when evaluating this campground for their "camping near me" needs.

The provided reviews do not contain any positive promotional information about The Lake Club at Black Lake under the new ownership. Instead, the sentiment is largely negative, focusing on the displacement of long-term tenants and concerns about the new management's integrity and direction for the property. One reviewer explicitly states their disappointment that things are "going to change," and another advises potential renters to get everything in writing due to a perceived lack of trustworthiness. The lack of any positive comments regarding new amenities or improvements makes it difficult to identify any current promotional aspects. Local users searching for "camping near me" would be wise to weigh the negative feedback regarding management and the potential shift in the campground's character heavily when considering The Lake Club at Black Lake. Any potential "promotion" would likely need to come directly from the new owners, outlining their vision for the property and any specific offerings or improvements they are implementing.

In conclusion, for local residents in the Hammond, New York area seeking "camping near me" on Black Lake, The Lake Club at Black Lake presents a situation marked by significant recent changes in ownership and management. While historically the location seems to have fostered a strong community and offered a lakefront environment appealing to long-term tenants and families, recent reviews express serious concerns about the new direction of the property, including the non-renewal of leases for long-term residents and allegations of untrustworthy management. The potential shift towards an RV-centric setting might alter the traditional character of the campground. Local users considering The Lake Club at Black Lake should be aware of these reported issues and the lack of positive feedback regarding the new ownership. It is strongly recommended that potential campers directly contact the new owners to inquire about the current status, available amenities, policies, and any plans for the future of The Lake Club at Black Lake to make an informed decision about their "camping near me" options.
