Based on feedback from fellow campers, Thousand Trails St. Clair cultivates a warm and welcoming environment. Many reviewers describe it as more than just a campground; it's a tight-knit community where newcomers are readily embraced. This strong sense of community is often highlighted by the organized and enjoyable weekend activities, suggesting a vibrant social scene for those looking to connect with others. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, the inclusive atmosphere seems to be a significant draw.
Families with children will find Thousand Trails St. Clair particularly appealing. The reviews consistently praise it as an "AMAZING" place for kids, implying a range of amenities and activities tailored to younger visitors. While specific details about these kid-friendly features aren't explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the enthusiastic sentiment suggests ample opportunities for children to play, explore, and create lasting memories in a safe and engaging environment. Adults, too, will find plenty to appreciate, indicating a well-rounded experience that caters to a diverse range of interests.
The natural environment of Thousand Trails St. Clair is frequently lauded. Campers appreciate the "Camp Ground" feel, with many sites nestled within wooded areas. This natural spacing contributes to a sense of privacy and tranquility, even during busier periods like the Labor Day weekend when the park was reported to be crowded. The ability to feel "hidden away in the woods" while still being part of a larger community is a significant advantage for those seeking a genuine outdoor experience.
For those traveling in larger recreational vehicles, Thousand Trails St. Clair is noted as "big rig friendly." While one reviewer advised less experienced drivers to take it slow, the overall accessibility for larger RVs is a definite plus. However, it's worth noting that some RV spots are described as "a little tight," suggesting that maneuvering might require some caution, particularly for those new to handling larger vehicles.
Beyond the campground itself, its location offers the advantage of being close to "great historical spots." This opens up opportunities for campers to explore the local area and enrich their stay with cultural and educational experiences. While the specific historical sites are not detailed in the reviews, the mention suggests that Thousand Trails St. Clair serves as a convenient basecamp for discovering the region's heritage.
In terms of services and amenities, the reviews offer some insights. The availability of firewood for purchase on-site is mentioned, although one reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the quality, describing it as "worthless" due to being wet and uncured. This is a valuable piece of feedback for prospective campers who may want to consider bringing their own firewood or inquiring about the current quality before purchasing. The mention of a "sewage treatment pond" with a "pretty pungent odor" is another point to be aware of. While not affecting all areas of the park equally, it's a factor that some visitors have experienced.
Despite these few drawbacks, the overwhelming sentiment from the provided reviews is positive. Phrases like "This is one of the better Thousand Trails we have been too," "We love this place," and "We will be back" speak volumes about the overall camper satisfaction. The combination of a welcoming community, a pleasant natural setting, and convenient location seems to create a compelling experience for many.

Thousand Trails St. Clair Reviews
Beautiful park that feels more like a tight knit community that you automatically become a part of just by showing up. People are extremely friendly and have fun activities every weekend! This place is AMAZING for kids, but it just a great for adults. Can’t say enough about this park. Only bad parts were: the sewage treatment pond does give off a pretty pungent odor and some of the RV spot are a little tight. It is big rig friendly, my only advice is take it slow if you not experienced, like myself.
Sep 28, 2024 · Korydon AlexanderThis is one of the better Thousand Trails we have been too.A lot to do here and location allows you to hit some great historical spots. We showed up in time for the Labor Day weekend but even then as crowded as it was the spacing between campers hidden away in the woods makes it seem less so.I love these types of camp grounds where it looks like a Camp Ground, feels like a campground.Only gripe is the Firewood they sell at $8 a pop is worthless. It doesn't burn as it is all quite wet and not properly cured.Other than that??We will be back.We love this place.
Sep 06, 2024 · Jack GuarinoClean restrooms and showers. Beautiful pool. Staff was friendly. Pull-through sites are super close together. They are "buddy sites" where every two campers have their front door facing each other. This is confusing to dogs who assume the whole area belongs to them. My husband was bit by neighbor's dog. The staff handled it well and professionally. The water tastes terrible here. We bought bottled water the whole time. We found things to do, but all in all, this was one of our least favorite campgrounds we've stayed in all year.
Jul 25, 2024 · Becky PhillipsWe stayed here for a week and were very happy with our experience.Rv site: the site was leveled, spacious and shaded by trees. Most sites seemed that way. Many annual sites but I found them to look tidy and well managed.Amenities: we enjoyed the huge jump pad, pool, playground and games. Great put put course. Areas were clean and well kept. Pool seems old but overall in ok condition. We didn’t use any indoor amenities so no comments on that but the club house looked big with games and toys. There was a food truck on the weekend.Location:We loved St. Clair and the camp is close so very easy to get out and explore town. Nice grocery stores and anything else you might need dear by. Easy.Friday night there was a golf cart parade with SO MANY golf carts driving around all happy and handing out candy.Overall great experience. The only thing I didn’t enjoy were the mosquitos- so many and so aggressive!
