Tuff Campground Reviews
This campground is a hidden gem. It’s clean, bathrooms and grounds are well kept and host is always so pleasant and welcoming. We make a trip here every year to enjoy the fall colors and escape from city life. We visited Tom Place which is just minutes away for dinner which was surprisingly delicious. We fished in the creek just feet away from our campsite.
Oct 14, 2024 · Mary PetersonThis is one of my favorite campsites within the eastern Sierra. It’s right off 395 but far enough where the traffic doesn’t bother you. The creek ususally has good fishing, was hit or miss this time due to the hatcheries but it’s near all the lakes so there’s tons of room to explore. The camp manager is also very friendly and helpful. He provides a very welcoming atmosphere that makes us wanna keep coming back. And we will. The picnic tables have shade structures too which is super nice. I’ll be back many more times in the future.
Sep 04, 2020 · Nana NevarezVery clean campground. Very comfortable place to stay. Winds kicked up a bit while we were there. Might be common for this area. A couple of spots had decent shade but most spots were sunny all day. Could definitely use more shade if you're tent camping. Overall a nice place to stay. We'll be back.
Sep 05, 2022 · Don GleesonGreat place to camp. Well sized family campsites with shaded tables. A great camp host named David Mac who is very friendly and happy to answer any questions or concerns you have. A nice river, nice hiking areas, nice biking, and swimming areas that run through the campground. However even though they’re clearly fish of various sizes in the river it is almost impossible to catch them no matter what tactics you use. Also they have some of the cleanest camping bathrooms I’ve ever seen.
Aug 10, 2021 · Elijah ZunigaI stayed a weekend in late Sept on Site 29. The camp's facilities are great as they have good well water, clean vault toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, and bear boxes at each site. Many of the sites also include a shade, which I have mixed feelings about. The shade is probably nice is warmer summer months but visually they make it feel like a cheesier campground. As with any camp, the sites are not created equal. Some are very spacious and offer great, scenic places to pitch a tent while some can feel like a parking lot. Choose wisely! The third loop where we stayed offers nice, grassy camps that are right up beside the creek. This made for awesome creek noise to sleep to. Unfortunately this third loop is also within line of sight to US-395, which is can be very loud and very busy.Other than the disappointing road noise, which I think is significantly less in the more protected but also more crowded first and second loop, this camp served us well. The hosts were great as well being very flexible with us and offered us great advice for the area. I would recommend it and had a very good time here. Just be mindful of the proximity to the highway.
