Abe's RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City, Abe's RV Park, situated at 12115 N I-35 Service Rd, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, USA, presents a no-frills option with a convenient location. Based on recent customer reviews, Abe's RV Park offers full hookups and a friendly staff but also has some significant drawbacks regarding maintenance and amenities that potential visitors should carefully consider.
One reviewer noted that the park is "not well maintained," providing specific examples such as a "power pedestal" held together with "duct tape" and a "sewer pipe at our site" that was "broken and covered with a piece of broken concrete block." These observations suggest potential safety and functionality issues with the park's infrastructure. The condition of the power pedestal is particularly concerning as it directly impacts the electrical supply to RVs. A broken sewer pipe could lead to sanitation problems and inconvenience for guests.
The same reviewer also mentioned the presence of "stray cats" wandering the property, including going "in and out of unattended trailers." For travelers with pets or those who prefer a pest-free environment, this could be a significant concern. Additionally, it was noted that "the majority of folks were long-term stays and there was an ample amount of clutter among the trailers." While long-term residents are common in many RV parks, excessive clutter can detract from the overall aesthetic and potentially impact the usability of sites.
A significant limitation of Abe's RV Park is the complete absence of essential amenities: "There are no showers or toilets at the park." This means that all guests must rely entirely on the facilities within their own RVs. For those with smaller RVs lacking these amenities or those who prefer communal facilities, Abe's RV Park would not be a suitable choice.
Adding to the challenges is the "steep entry into the park." One reviewer explicitly warned about this, noting "a lot of scrape marks at the transition from the frontage road into the park." This suggests that RVs, particularly longer or lower-clearance models, are at risk of damage when entering or exiting the park. Maneuvering carefully and at a slow speed would likely be necessary.
Despite these considerable drawbacks, the reviews also highlight some positive aspects of Abe's RV Park, primarily related to its location and staff interaction. One reviewer found it "interesting that they inspected and cleaned my power cord and waited at the site till we were connected and I verified the microwave was powered on." Another reviewer echoed this positive interaction, stating, "Yes, they checked our power cord and waited for our electric to come on before they left our site to make sure everything was ok." These instances suggest a level of attentiveness and care from the staff upon arrival, ensuring that guests have a functioning electrical connection.
The location of Abe's RV Park is also noted as a significant advantage. It is conveniently situated less than "1/2 mile away" from a Love's Travel Stop, which offers "reasonable fuel prices" and other amenities typically found at such stops. For travelers needing fuel, supplies, or a quick stop, this proximity is a definite plus. Additionally, Abe's is located "half mile off the exit ramp," making it easily accessible from I-35. Its location was also deemed "a great location for the tourist sites we visited" by one reviewer, although the specific tourist sites were not mentioned.
Regarding noise, one guest who stayed in the middle part of the park reported that "The highway noise was not a problem for us." However, this might vary depending on the specific site within the park and the sensitivity of individual guests to traffic sounds.
Another positive aspect mentioned is that "Staff was friendly." Positive interactions with park staff can significantly improve the overall experience, even when other aspects of the park might be lacking.
For budget-conscious travelers, Abe's RV Park offers discounts through several membership programs: "They offer Good Sam, AAA and AARP discounts." This could make it a more appealing option for members of these organizations looking for a less expensive stay, despite the limited amenities and maintenance concerns.
In summary, Abe's RV Park in Oklahoma City offers a convenient location just off I-35 and near a Love's Travel Stop, with friendly staff and full hookups. However, potential guests should be aware of the significant drawbacks, including the lack of on-site showers and toilets, reported issues with park maintenance (power pedestals, sewer pipes), the presence of stray animals and clutter, and a steep entry into the park. The park appears to cater more to long-term residents, which might contribute to some of the observed conditions. Despite these limitations, the availability of Good Sam, AAA, and AARP discounts might make it a viable option for some travelers prioritizing location and full hookups over amenities and pristine conditions.
Local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City should carefully weigh these factors based on their individual needs and preferences. If on-site restrooms and showers are essential, or if you have a large or low-clearance RV, Abe's RV Park might not be the best choice. However, if you are self-contained, value proximity to the interstate and a travel stop, and are a member of Good Sam, AAA, or AARP, the discounted rates and convenient location might be appealing. It is always advisable to contact the park directly at (405) 478-0278 or +1 405-478-0278 to inquire about current conditions, site availability, and any specific concerns you might have before making a reservation.

May 03, 2025 · Bryan ChumbleyAbe’s is half mile off the exit ramp. It was a great location for the tourist sites we visited. We stayed in the middle part of the park. The highway noise was not a problem for us. Yes, they checked our power cord and waited for our electric to come on before they left our site to make sure everything was ok. They have full hook ups. No amenities. Staff was friendly. We stayed in early Dec traveling through to AZ. We would stay here again. They offer Good Sam, AAA and AARP discounts.
Dec 08, 2024 · Bob McGregorThis place was great. They stayed a little late for us on a Saturday to get us checked in. Yes, they do check your plug on arrival and are prepared to help fix it if necessary. We have heard this is unusual but I’m sure they probably had an event happen that makes this necessary for them. It is not a new fancy campground and the roads are a little rough but their kindness and great customer service make up for it. It is located next to the interstate and yes there is noise from the road. If you are easily bothered by that ask them when you book if they can give you a spot as far back as possible. We were in the very first spot and it did not bother us but we prefer a bit of noise at night. We had a bolt sheer on one of our slides and they gave us a screw that helped us get on the road faster until we can get home and fix it properly. They knew we were brand new to owning an RV and called us before we left to make sure we were very careful leaving because it is a steep drive and didn’t want us to scrape anything. If you are looking for an economical place to park and do not need or want all of the amenities we highly recommend Abe’s. I think a lot of the negative reviews are really just from people that expect too much and/or didn’t want to follow their rules. We will definitely choose Abe’s the next time we go to Oklahoma City.
Jul 02, 2023 · Erica GrahamWe stayed here one night on our way to Missouri and way back home to Texas. Very nice people and a good location. Only things that really need work is the road and sewer system. More pot holes than road. The sewer system, unable to screw the hose on. The connection is below the concrete. It's is right off I35, so yes you can hear road noise, but we did not find it too loud. It's a good overnight stop.We will definitely stay again on our travels.
May 27, 2023 · Sonya LevertonMust check in by 5pm. We were disappointed because we couldn’t get there til about 6:30
