Charleston Marina RV Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" along the stunning Oregon coast, particularly in the Charleston and Coos Bay area, Charleston Marina RV Park, located at 63402 Kingfisher Rd, Charleston, OR 97420, USA, offers a unique setting with direct access to the marina and the coastal environment. Based on the available reviews, the park presents a clean and conveniently located option, especially for those seeking proximity to basic necessities and a safe harbor during challenging times. However, it's also important to note feedback regarding the enforcement of property rules.
One of the significant advantages of Charleston Marina RV Park, as highlighted by a long-term former resident, is its proximity to basic necessities. When relocating to a new area with limited resources, having essential services within easy reach is paramount. While the specific nature of these necessities isn't detailed, the implication is that the park's location in Charleston provides convenient access to things like grocery stores, laundry facilities (though perhaps pay-per-use within the park itself), and other essential services needed for daily living, particularly during a transitional period.
The review also notes that the property itself was as clean as any ocean-available location could be. This suggests that the park management takes pride in maintaining a clean environment despite the challenges often associated with coastal locations, such as salt air and sand. Cleanliness is a crucial factor for the comfort and enjoyment of RV park guests, contributing to a more pleasant and hygienic stay.
For individuals who might be facing unforeseen circumstances or are in a transitional phase of life, Charleston Marina RV Park served as a "safe haven" for one reviewer who lived there for three months. This powerful description underscores the park's ability to provide a secure and stable environment during challenging times. The sense of safety and security can be particularly important for those who are away from their usual support systems.
However, it's crucial to consider all feedback. One reviewer expressed concerns about the behavior of the employees, describing them as "a bit militant" regarding who is supposed to be on the property. This individual recounted being stopped and questioned twice while on their way to the post office, even though they were not within the RV lot itself. This experience suggests a potentially strict enforcement of property boundaries and rules, which some visitors might find excessive or unwelcoming. It's important for potential guests to be aware of this feedback regarding the park's approach to property access.
While the reviews offer insights into the park's cleanliness, location, and the experience of one long-term guest, specific details about the full range of services and amenities typically offered by RV parks are limited. Generally, RV parks provide hook-ups for water, electricity, and sewer at their sites. Given the mention of a "pay shower," it's clear that shower facilities are available, although potentially at an additional cost. This is a factor that budget-conscious travelers will want to consider.
Other common amenities that Charleston Marina RV Park might offer include laundry facilities (as implied by the need for pay showers, suggesting basic hygiene needs are met on-site), Wi-Fi access, and possibly a common area or gathering space. However, these are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, so potential guests should inquire directly with the park management for a comprehensive list of amenities.
The location of Charleston Marina RV Park directly suggests a strong connection to the marina and potentially related services or activities. RV parks located near marinas often cater to boating enthusiasts or those who enjoy waterfront views and access to marine-related amenities. This could be a significant draw for individuals planning to explore the coastal waters or engage in fishing or other water-based activities.
Given the limited information about the environment beyond its coastal and marina proximity, potential guests might want to research the surrounding area of Charleston to understand the natural landscape, nearby attractions, and the overall ambiance of the location. Charleston is known for its scenic beauty and access to the Pacific Ocean, making it a desirable destination for many travelers.
As the provided reviews do not include any specific promotional information or details about current rates, interested individuals should contact Charleston Marina RV Park directly at (541) 888-9512 or +1 541-888-9512. Speaking with the park management will allow you to inquire about site availability, pricing, specific amenities, and any rules or regulations that might apply to your stay. It would also be wise to ask about their policies regarding property access for visitors.
In conclusion, Charleston Marina RV Park offers a clean, ocean-accessible location near Coos Bay with proximity to basic necessities, having served as a safe haven for at least one long-term guest during a challenging period. However, potential visitors should be aware of feedback suggesting a strict enforcement of property rules by employees. For those prioritizing a coastal location with marina access and essential services, Charleston Marina RV Park is worth considering. It is recommended to contact the park directly to obtain detailed information about amenities, rates, and property access policies to ensure it meets your specific needs and expectations when searching for "RV parks near me" in the Charleston area.

Charleston Marina RV Park Reviews
These people, the employees I mean. Seem to be a bit militant! With regard to whether you are supposed to be on the property or not!? While on my way to the post office. I was stopped and questioned twice! I thought this was a bit of an overreach. Considering that I wasn't even in the RV lot
May 04, 2025 · Defendant #1Charleston Marina RV Park was our base location when we moved to Coos Bay in July of 1998.We lived with another couple in a 27' travel trailer for three months. During that time, proximity to the basic necessities was key.The property itself was a clean as any ocean-available location could be. But when you have little more than the clothes on your back, even the presence of a pay shower is a luxury.During that storm of our lives, this port was a safe haven.
Jan 25, 2025 · Andrew McFall IIIThis has been a great place to stay, as my husband is on oxygen, need hookups, very clean and quiet, security on duty at all times, feel very safe to leave your area and go sight seeing, alot to do close by and within a short drive, lots of good restaurant, can walk to most, close, have stayed here before and will be back again, photos are places we visited while here, not to long of a drive and so worth it
Jan 07, 2022 · Debbie MckeeA nice park by the marina. Clean. Nice laundry room and restrooms. It is mostly a parking lot. One row has trees. Two others just pavement. The one we were on #19 had some grass which was nice for the dogs. Neighbors are very close. Fair price. Good Sam discount. Full hookups. Propane for sale. Felt very safe. No scary creepy looking RVs. A negative is that the office is closed on Sunday and Monday. And camp host was not to be found Monday afternoon when he was needed by more than one person.
Jun 19, 2018 · Janet RachelBeautiful park. At night all you can hear are birds and seals, day and night. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and a lot of fun stuff to do. We will be returning for another vacation.
