City of Blackfoot RV Park Introduce
Looking for "RV parks near me" in the Blackfoot, Idaho area? The City of Blackfoot RV Park, located at 1300 E Airport Rd, Blackfoot, ID 83221, USA, offers a convenient and generally well-regarded option for RV travelers. Situated near the Blackfoot airport, this city-operated park provides essential amenities and access to local attractions, making it a suitable choice for both short and potentially longer stays in the region.
The environment of City of Blackfoot RV Park is characterized by its proximity to the Blackfoot Municipal Airport. As noted by a reviewer, this means that visitors can expect to see and hear planes landing and taking off, primarily during the daytime. However, the same reviewer also indicates that this activity was not a significant issue during their week-long stay, suggesting that the noise levels are manageable for most visitors. The park's location near the airport offers easy access for those flying in or out of the area or those who enjoy aviation activity. Beyond the airport, the park is also conveniently located near local amenities. One reviewer specifically mentions the proximity to Tommy Vaughn’s restaurant, known for its chicken fried steak, and a nearby Walmart for stocking up on supplies. This accessibility to services and dining options enhances the convenience of staying at City of Blackfoot RV Park.
In terms of services, the park offers reliable power and water hookups at each site, which are essential for a comfortable RV stay. This basic infrastructure allows travelers to maintain their essential utilities without issue. A significant recent addition to the park's services is a dump station, a feature that was noted as an improvement by a returning visitor in August 2023. Previously, as mentioned by another reviewer, the closest dump station was at a Love’s in Idaho Falls, requiring a trip north for this service. The inclusion of an on-site dump station adds considerable convenience for RVers, especially those staying for longer durations. However, it's important to note that at the time of the reviews, sewer hookups were not mentioned as being available at the individual sites, suggesting that the park primarily offers water and power.
The features of City of Blackfoot RV Park include its convenient location near the airport and local amenities like restaurants and shopping. The presence of a nearby dog park is a significant advantage for travelers with pets, providing a dedicated space for their animals to exercise. Another unique feature, highlighted by a visitor, is the display of WWII and Vietnam era tanks within a park located near the RV park. This offers a point of interest and a touch of local history for visitors to explore. The park is also described as "pretty quiet" and feeling "safe," contributing to a comfortable and secure stay for travelers.
However, a returning visitor in August 2023 noted a negative aspect related to the park's sprinkler system. They reported that the sprinklers sprayed mineral water onto their truck and RV, leaving noticeable spots. They suggested that the park management adjust the sprinklers to water only the grassy areas and avoid spraying the paved surfaces. This is a point of consideration for those concerned about maintaining the cleanliness of their vehicles and RVs while staying at the park.
Promotional information for City of Blackfoot RV Park can be gleaned from the positive experiences shared by the reviewers. The reliability of power and water, the convenience of the location near amenities and attractions, the presence of a dog park, and the feeling of safety all serve as reasons to choose this park. The addition of a dump station is a significant improvement that enhances the park's appeal to RVers. The fact that a visitor chose to stay at the park for a second time, despite the sprinkler issue, indicates an overall positive experience with the location and basic services.
However, it is also important to consider the price increase mentioned by the returning visitor. The nightly price was raised to $35. While the addition of the dump station may justify a price adjustment for some, potential visitors will need to factor this cost into their budget and compare it with other "RV parks near me" in the area to determine the best value for their needs.
For local users and those passing through Blackfoot, ID, the City of Blackfoot RV Park offers a straightforward and convenient camping option. Its proximity to the airport and town amenities makes it a practical choice for various travel needs. The reliable water and power, along with the newly added dump station, provide essential services for RVers. The presence of a dog park and the unique display of military tanks offer additional appeal. However, potential guests should be aware of the airport noise during the day and take precautions regarding the sprinkler system to protect their vehicles from mineral water spots. The nightly rate of $35 should also be considered in comparison to other available options in the region.
In conclusion, City of Blackfoot RV Park provides a functional and conveniently located option for RV travelers in the Blackfoot, ID area. Its reliable utilities, proximity to amenities, and the addition of a dump station are positive attributes. The presence of a dog park and local attractions like the tank display add to its appeal. However, the potential for airport noise and the issue with the sprinkler system spraying mineral water are factors that potential guests should be aware of. The nightly rate of $35 should be evaluated in the context of the services offered and other available "RV parks near me." For a no-frills, conveniently situated stopover with essential hookups, City of Blackfoot RV Park is worth considering.

City of Blackfoot RV Park Reviews
We stayed here for a week in August and really enjoyed this area. Power and water were reliable, and there is a nice dog park nearby. Some planes will be landing and taking off, mostly during the day, but they weren't an issue. This park is, after all, next to an airport. We camped at City of Blackfoot RV Parking in a Fifth Wheel.Update: We stayed here again in August 2023 and found a negative. Their sprinkler system leaves horrible mineral water spots on our truck and RV. They need to make sure the sprinklers do not touch the paved areas, only grass. Pleased to see they added a dump station though, although they also raised the nightly price to $35
Jul 22, 2023 · David BottomleyMade a reservation for this park on the city website and it was great. Only water and power available, and the closest dump stations is a Love’s in Idaho Falls (if you’re headed north).Went and ate at Tommy Vaughn’s just down the road, best chicken fried steak you’ll ever have and the Walmart is close by if you need supplies. The WWII and Vietnam era tanks in the park were cool as well! Pretty quiet and felt safe in the area. Wouldn’t hesitate staying here again.
Jul 02, 2023 · John UGoogle says this RV park is Temporary Closed go on line and reserve they are open April 22 2025.Nice park to rest before heading north.
Apr 22, 2025 · Randy RobertsonIt's really unfair to review this park as we couldn't access the web portal without first creating an account with the city. No prices were posted adding to the frustration. Note: there is little, if any, shade in the park. Really, it's a big parking lot.
Aug 03, 2021 · Deborah DeKoffStayed here twice on our way to and from Montana. It is a nice little park and super convenient. I'm not sure it's worth the $35 for not full hookups, but the dump is convenient now that they opened it at the park, and it's free. My issue was that there is no one actually monitoring these sites. They have reserved signs, but no one actually flips them. One of the campers on our first stop stole our picnic table for their site so that they could have 2, which was not nice, and it was still in that same spot when we returned a week later. On our return trip, there was a baseball tournament going on, and someone was actually in our spot and hooked up. We tried to call, but it was after hours, so who do we complain to. We shouldn't have to confront someone. I think if the signs had been utilized, this might not have been an issue, but either way, they need to have an after hours number for problems that might come up. We sat there long enough that the guy came over and said, "I'll move, I'm assuming this is your spot." Then, he proceeded to go take another spot and set up a slip and slide and pools using the free water since I'm sure he didn't actually pay for a site. If you are going to offer a park like this and charge, then someone needs to be monitoring it. Also, there were people dry camping there even though it is "against the rules."
