Dakota Ridge RV Park Introduce
For local users seeking "RV parks near me" in the Golden, Colorado area, Dakota Ridge RV Park, located at 17800 W Colfax Ave, Golden, CO 80401, USA, presents a location with both positive and negative feedback regarding the environment, services, and features. Understanding these aspects can help potential visitors make an informed decision about their stay.
One positive review from a couple traveling full-time in a 30ft Class C RV highlights several appealing features of Dakota Ridge RV Park. They specifically enjoyed the walking trail within the park that provides direct access to the Tin Cup Ridge trail, offering opportunities for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the area. The convenience of accessing this trail directly from the RV park is a significant advantage for outdoor enthusiasts. The reviewer also notes that the Tin Cup Ridge trail can be accessed from the parking lot of Wrigley's Chicago Bar and Grill, recommending it for lunch, suggesting a local dining option within easy reach of the RV park.
The check-in process was described as easy, and the staff was reported to be friendly, contributing to a positive initial experience. Furthermore, the reviewer found the bathrooms to be clean, which is a crucial aspect of comfort and hygiene for RV travelers. While acknowledging the presence of a bar across the street, they noted that the music stopped at a reasonable hour (10 pm) and was not excessively loud, suggesting that potential noise concerns might be manageable.
Addressing a common concern mentioned by others, the reviewer stated that while spaces were noted as tight, their 30ft RV fit without significant issues. This suggests that while maneuvering larger rigs might require caution, the park can accommodate a reasonable size of RV. Based on their positive experience, this reviewer indicated they would stay at Dakota Ridge RV Park again.
However, a contrasting and strongly negative review presents a significantly different perspective. This reviewer described their site as the "worst site in 40 years of camping," highlighting several critical issues. They reported bright lights and noise emanating from a warehouse situated directly below their site, where the back of their lot had a steep 15-foot drop-off. Additionally, they noted a neighboring sewer line emptying directly beside their picnic table, raising concerns about sanitation and odor. A major issue was the extreme unevenness of the site, which made it unsafe to enter their camper. Due to these problems, they left a day early to find a safer location and suggested that the site should be condemned and a refund provided to anyone forced to stay there. This review paints a picture of at least one site within the park being severely substandard and potentially hazardous.
Considering these two reviews, the environment of Dakota Ridge RV Park appears to be a mix of convenient access to nature and potential drawbacks depending on the specific site assigned. The proximity to the Tin Cup Ridge trail is a significant environmental feature for those who enjoy hiking. However, the negative review highlights the potential for industrial nuisances (lights and noise from a warehouse) and sanitation concerns (neighboring sewer line) affecting the quality of individual sites.
In terms of services, the positive review mentions friendly staff and clean bathrooms, which are essential for a comfortable RV stay. The easy check-in process also indicates efficient service. However, the negative review does not comment on services, focusing instead on the severe inadequacies of the specific site. There is no information provided about other potential services such as laundry facilities, Wi-Fi availability, or a communal area.
Features of Dakota Ridge RV Park include the walking trail with access to Tin Cup Ridge, and its proximity to Wrigley's Chicago Bar and Grill. The positive reviewer also suggests that the park can accommodate 30ft RVs, although the negative reviewer's experience with an uneven site implies that the quality and levelness of individual sites can vary significantly. The mention of tight spaces in the positive review suggests that maneuvering larger RVs might be a consideration. The proximity to a bar across the street could be a feature for some but a potential noise concern for others, although one reviewer found the noise level acceptable.
No promotional information is available in the provided data. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any special offers or incentives that Dakota Ridge RV Park might be offering to attract visitors.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Golden, Colorado, Dakota Ridge RV Park offers a location with direct access to hiking trails and a friendly staff, according to one review. However, potential visitors must be aware of the significant issues raised in another review regarding at least one site with bright lights, noise, a nearby sewer line, and extreme unevenness. The mention of tight spaces also suggests that the park might not be ideal for very large RVs or those seeking significant space around their site.
Prospective visitors should consider contacting Dakota Ridge RV Park directly at (303) 279-1625 or +1 303-279-1625 to inquire about site availability and the characteristics of specific sites. It would be prudent to ask about potential issues with noise from the nearby warehouse or the proximity of sewer lines to campsites. Inquiring about the levelness and overall condition of the sites is also essential to ensure a safe and comfortable stay. Given the contrasting experiences in the reviews, it might be beneficial to request a specific site based on positive feedback, if possible, or to inquire about measures taken to address the issues reported in the negative review.
In conclusion, Dakota Ridge RV Park offers a location with convenient access to outdoor recreation and a seemingly friendly staff. However, potential guests should be aware of the possibility of uneven and problematic sites, as well as potential noise from a nearby industrial area. The experience at Dakota Ridge RV Park appears to be highly dependent on the specific site assigned. Therefore, thorough communication with the park management regarding site conditions and amenities is strongly recommended for anyone considering a stay at this RV park when searching for "RV parks near me" in the Golden area.

Dakota Ridge RV Park Reviews
My husband and I stayed here for about a week in September and really enjoyed our stay. We are traveling full time in a Class C RV with no tow vehicle. One of the greatest things about the park is the walking trail within the park that led to Tin Cup Ridge trail. You can also access this trail from the parking lot of Wrigley's Chicago Bar and Grill (I'd recommend them for lunch as well!)Check in was easy, the staff is friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Yes, there is a bar across the street, but the music stopped at 10pm and it really wasn't that loud. People also mention that spaces are tight, but we were fine in our 30ft.We would stay here again!
Dec 16, 2024 · Kelly DresslerWorst site in 40 years of camping - bright lights and noise from the warehouse directly below us where the back of our lot dropped off about 15’, neighboring sewer line emptied directly beside our picnic table, so unlevel we were not able to safely enter camper. We left a day early and found a safe spot. This one should be condemned and anyone having to stay there should be refunded.
Jan 02, 2025 · Sheryl Bell AndersonLet’s start with the bar. A simple google maps search will have you prepared for the music; The bands that play on the weekends aren’t bad and they wrap up by 10PM.Very clean park and well managed. The employees are happy to help with anything you may need. Trash pick up, propane fill onsite, clean showers, and a laundry room with machines that actually work (IYKYK.)The clubhouse had some coloring books and crayons/markers for the kids, as well as DVDs you could sign out and little “leave one take one” book shelf too. They even had a fun little scavenger hunt that my nephews LOVED! After they finished they got to pick a fun prize from a cute treasure chest! The overlook trail right in the park was a fun like trek for the family too, and very convenient to have that there when the nephews wanted to “go explorin’.”There was even the cutest little coffee station for the guests! A very thoughtful touch!Definitely don’t miss out on a stay here, and be sure to bring your pup to the office to let Liz spoil them with treats!
Apr 27, 2025 · Gabrielle GonzalesWe stayed a couple of weeks and had everything we needed. The staff are particularly friendly and the park is clean and well kept. We particularly enjoyed a good level concrete pad after months on gravel in other sites in Colorado!Yes there is a biker bar across the road which we found entertaining and they serve a good pub meal. I recommend a visit.Main cons were that the sites are a very narrow and there is a fair bit of road noise from Colfax. Our site A06 - we had a good bit of space compared to other sites - but most sites had basically no room to sit outside your camper and enjoy. On the whole a pleasant stay and a great location to visit Golden and Denver. Good value for money. We will come back if in the area.
Aug 17, 2024 · Emily PiperWarning: there's a bikers bar directly across the street. So if you are not into loud booming music and revving motorcycles don't come here. All afternoon and evening. And they parked us in a site closest to that venue. Also, no dog park. The only dog walking area has a sign that says beware of rattle snakes.
