Dessau Fountain Estates Manufactured Home Community Introduce
This introduction aims to provide local users with information about Dessau Fountain Estates Manufactured Home Community, located at 508 E Howard Ln in Austin, Texas (78753). While the platform category is "RV parks near me," it is important to understand that Dessau Fountain Estates primarily functions as a manufactured home community offering long-term residency rather than temporary RV sites. As such, this overview will focus on aspects relevant to those seeking permanent or extended-stay housing in the form of manufactured homes within the Austin area. The information presented is based on a few recent customer reviews which offer contrasting perspectives on the community.
Dessau Fountain Estates' location on East Howard Lane in Austin places it within a potentially accessible area of the city. Howard Lane intersects with major roads, which could provide residents with reasonable access to various parts of Austin, including shopping, employment centers, and other urban amenities. However, specific details regarding the immediate neighborhood, such as its walkability, proximity to public transportation, or the presence of nearby services, are not detailed in the provided reviews.
Environment and Grounds:
One long-term resident notes that the management does try to keep the property looking nice and attributes trash littering to the residents rather than management. This suggests that there is some effort towards maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the community. However, another review paints a less positive picture of the overall living environment, though without specific details about the grounds themselves. The mention of "loud music is played every weekend on Lucerne Street" indicates a potential noise issue that could impact the peacefulness of the community for some residents.
The positive review highlights the presence of speed bumps, which the resident appreciates for the safety of the many young children in the community. This suggests that the community is family-oriented and that there are measures in place aimed at controlling traffic speed within the park. However, the same review also points out a significant wildlife problem, specifically the abundance of skunks and raccoons. While skunks are described as mostly harmless unless threatened, raccoons are noted to have caused damage to roofs and skirting of trailers, and the resident indicates that wildlife control apparently does not address this issue. The presence of stray cats is also mentioned, with the resident participating in a trap-neuter-release program.
A major concern raised in the positive review is the issue of loose dogs. The resident states that they have never been able to walk the streets without being approached by barking or snapping dogs and has witnessed others being harassed as well. The formation of dog packs is also mentioned, raising concerns about potential aggression and the unknown vaccination status of these animals, posing a potential health risk. This suggests a lack of enforcement regarding pet leash rules within the community.
Services and Features:
The reviews provide limited information about the formal services and features offered by Dessau Fountain Estates management. The negative review mentions "despotic" staff at the front desk who are unhelpful once a resident has moved in. This raises concerns about the quality of resident support and communication. The positive review, while highlighting the management's effort to maintain appearances, criticizes their lack of action regarding the loose dog problem. It does mention a towing service that patrols for parking violations, indicating that parking regulations are enforced, albeit with mixed feelings from the resident who experienced towing.
Typical manufactured home communities often provide basic infrastructure such as water, sewer, and electrical hookups for each lot. Road maintenance and trash collection are also common services. Amenities can vary but might include laundry facilities, community centers, playgrounds, or recreational areas. The provided reviews do not offer specific details about these standard services at Dessau Fountain Estates, aside from the mention of trash (which residents are encouraged to manage themselves) and parking enforcement.
The contrasting views on management are important to note. One resident describes them as unhelpful and even "despotic," while the long-term resident acknowledges their efforts to keep the community looking nice but criticizes their inaction on the dog issue. This suggests a potential inconsistency in management effectiveness or differing priorities.
Promotional Information:
No specific promotional information, such as move-in specials or advertised amenities, is included in the provided reviews. Therefore, it is not possible to comment on any active promotions offered by Dessau Fountain Estates. Individuals interested in residency would need to contact the management directly to inquire about current offers, lot availability, and the costs associated with living in the community.
Conclusion and Recommendation:
Dessau Fountain Estates Manufactured Home Community offers a location in Austin, TX, but the recent customer reviews present a mixed and concerning picture for prospective residents. While a long-term resident appreciates the speed bumps for safety and notes some effort in maintaining the community's appearance, significant issues are raised regarding management responsiveness (particularly post move-in), noise disturbances on weekends, a lack of effective control over loose dogs and wildlife, and parking problems. The stark contrast between the positive (focused on safety and aesthetics) and negative (focused on management and livability issues) feedback suggests a potentially inconsistent living experience within the community.
For individuals seeking a quiet and peaceful living environment with responsive management and effective pet control, the negative review raises serious red flags. The long-term resident's detailed account of the persistent loose dog problem, in particular, should be a significant concern for anyone prioritizing safety and a peaceful atmosphere. The parking situation also appears to be a long-standing and unresolved issue.
Prospective residents are strongly advised to visit Dessau Fountain Estates in person, observe the conditions firsthand (especially on a weekend evening to assess noise levels), and attempt to speak with current residents to gain a broader understanding of the community's living environment and management practices. Relying solely on the limited and conflicting information from these reviews would be insufficient to make an informed decision about long-term residency. It would also be beneficial to compare Dessau Fountain Estates with other manufactured home communities in the Austin area to find an option that better aligns with individual needs and expectations for a residential living experience.
While the platform category is "RV parks near me," Dessau Fountain Estates appears to operate as a long-term manufactured home community. Therefore, individuals specifically looking for short-term RV parks in the area should continue their search under more relevant listings. For those considering long-term manufactured home living at Dessau Fountain Estates, thorough investigation and direct engagement with the community are essential due to the concerns raised in the available feedback.

Dessau Fountain Estates Manufactured Home Community Reviews
Don't make the mistake of coming to live here; it's horrible. The staff is despotic in the front desk, they just make a good face when you want to live here. Once they've sold you the mobile home and you're inside, you'll know what I'm talking about. Dogs are off leashes everywhere. Loud music is played every weekend on Lucerne Street, the staff sleep placidly while the tenants have to put up with the noise until 4-5 in the morning. Don't make the same mistake I did; find a peaceful place to live, not one that causes you stress.
Apr 30, 2025 · Yoli M.My family and I have lived here almost 15 years. I see the complaints from others about the speed bumps but I am glad they are there. If the speed bumps were lower then people would NOT slow down and we would have more accidents. This community has alot of young children in it and I hate to think of one of them getting hit because someone decided to hit the accelerator cause the speed bumps were too low. Once people get behind the wheel they seem to forget this is OUR community and these are your neighbors living here. Taking 15 seconds extra to drive at a safe speed is not going to hurt you. Perhaps you should just leave a minute earlier so you don't need to race down our streets. We do have an animal problem here. Skunks abound as well as raccoons. Skunks stink if they are threatened otherwise harmless.Raccoons are an issue considering they can and have torn up roofs and skirting around our trailers. Apparently wildlife control doesn't care. The cats I am not bothered about since they don't try to bite me or chase me. I do participate in the Trap, Neuter and Release program for cats. I believe there is another person in our neighborhood that does as well. The Humane Society will neuter cats and give them rabies shots so we don't have an abundance of cats having litters. It is a free service they provide. Most the time they flee if I am too close to them. The loose dogs are a nuisance and a threat. Too many dogs are off their leashes or just turned out to live outside without a care as to their well being. I enjoy walking around in the evenings and I can honestly say not even ONE time have I been able to walk down our streets without a dog rushing up to bark or snap at me. I have seen others walking that have been harassed by dog or dogs too. That's ridiculous. Some dogs have actually formed packs. Packs are by nature more aggressive towards humans and other animals. I do not know how many of these dogs are even current on their rabies shots. If one of these dogs gets rabies from a skunk or a raccoon and bites a child or an adult then that person will have to undergo a series of rabies shots or risk an almost certain death without the shots. How serious does this situation have to get before someone does something about these loose dogs? The parking here is awful but it has been that way since day 1 when we we moved in. It has gotten much worse the past 3 years. I can't entirely fault management for that...they can't police the parking spots. We are all simply trying to make do. They do have a towing service that patrols the neighborhood and will tow violators. I have mixed feelings on this considering I have had my car towed twice and it was quite costly to get my car back. However I do understand why they are so strict. Too bad management doesn’t care even half as much about the loose dogs 😒 Anyway I am glad they are strict about parking. If they weren't, can u imagine how much more our tiny streets would be clogged? Drive around on the weekend or a weekday after 5 pm once the management office is closed and see how many cars are parked illegally or in fire zones. No one seems to care they are blocking their neighbors. Only solution I can see is if there was a limit as to how many cars were allowed per residence. Some residents have more than 4 vehicles and this is a HUGE problem considering only 1 side of the street is available to park on since the other side is a fire zone. I did make the suggestion to limit cars to management, there was no reply. All in all this property has a great location and the management does try to make it look nice. The trash littering the properties is the residents fault. It only takes a couple minutes once a week to walk your property and pick up the trash. Have a little pride and try to make our community a better place to live for all of us.
Apr 27, 2024 · Suz NoneYaPretty quiet little community, except when shots get fired a few doors down and you get the whole sheriff’s department including but not limited to the forensic team with those cute booties they wear when searching for blues clues. Do not think about leaving or entering the compound at regular work hours or plan for a little traffic jam, as the person in the very front of the line is trying to go LEFT on Howard and wont cross the road, like most chickens do. Love the art work they leave at your door which kinda looks like kindergarten home work; circling in red what does not belong. Also parking….sucks and they tow faster than it takes you to use the restroom!
Mar 07, 2024 · NeckitaHouses are so close together, that if one Vaught fire, there would be no more trailer park. They are very nice and not run down, but no yard, and you could probably talk yi your neighbor 3 doors down without leaving your home.
Jan 29, 2024 · Daniel Gallardo GarciaBeing in this community over 25 years and with the bad experience I been through I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANY NEW RESIDENT TO COME AND JOIN THIS COMMUNITY TOO LIVE IN!!! Totally have rude, unprofessional staff working there like front desk lady (Alicia) always lying that the manager is out of the office while she isn't because while I was on the phone with her to speck to the manager, she deny her so I went to the office asap to see if it was true and for sure she was definitely lying, so my question is how are we gonna resolve our problems when this community has people that doesn't want to work and be productive! And another thing too the manager (Myancy) is totally unprofessional, rude, not caring about her resident's because I was reporting an issue that two weeks ago I trim my lawn and literally not even a week got another notice that the lawn needed to be trim again and I called front desk lady (Alicia) and explain to her but she totally ignore me and never gave a pass down to the manager because I told her to come and check that my lawn isn't BIG enough to be trimming it again, so they still took the audacity to come down and trim it and charge me non sense $50 fee! I have pictures that there's other mobile homes worst on having their lot clean and trim and plus I took pictures of my lawn not being big and still she ignore and charge me!! Clearly in the pictures I will be posting can tell the difference on the neighbors lawn being big and they only trim mine. Like why is she picking and choosing houses to be charging non sense things!!! This little issue could of been fix so easily on her end but her being a hard headed person its impossible to come down and explain anything to her!! She clearly told me once I tried to show her my pictures for evidence she said 'IM NOT TALKING ABOUT OTHER HOUSE, IM TALKING ABOUT YOURS" like what kind of customer service is this from this community!! So she deny my refund back and another thing too this place the rent is going up and up every time and the community looks trashy, have lots of drug dealing here and a lot of people stealing and breaking in homes and cars, this place is a total rip off!! Mainence workers do side jobs and work under the table and be charging you hella money to get a job done inside the house like main one name "Julio" which is husband with the manager (Myancy)
