Flamingo Lake Reviews
Great RV camping for a sort stay or longer. The Staff was very friendly and helpful, sites well maintained and bathrooms clean. There is a nice cafe on premises to provide meals and beverages. The lake is beautiful with two beach areas to provide swimming. The pool was under construction and when completed should be a great addition. Price was reasonable for all the amenities at this park. This is a solid 5 star and I highly recommend staying here if you’re in the area or traveling and want a nice overnight rest stop.

Apr 13, 2025 · Tracy GotzI have been visiting or staying at flamingo lakes for many years now. I can honestly say the management company that is operating the day-to-day activities have got it right. Clean, structured, organized safe. Flamingo lakes is a Jacksonville Jewel. The lake in the middle is Spring fed and maintained for a safe day in the water. We rent the clubhouse once a year and get to enjoy the covered stage and seating area for live music. Flamingo lakes never lets us down
Feb 19, 2025 · P GarrisonWe have stayed at Flamingo many times over the years, we are Jacksonville locals. Think only once or twice since SUN bought them. I just checked dates, I see where there is a 3 night minimum at least during the summer on weekends. Guess I will no longer be staying there at all.
Apr 10, 2025 · Michael WhiteWe stayed in the Flamingo RV Resort, north of Jacksonville, for three nights in February of 2025. It was just our luck to roll into the park when a cold snap hit the area. We survived. This is a very large park, that has just been taken over by a new company, Sun RV Communities. The park is just off of I-295 and is close to a Walmart, a Waffle House, and other shopping. You do hear highway noise in the park. If you are a light sleeper, this might be an issue. The camp store is OK, and the people we dealt with in the office were very nice and helpful. The swimming pool was undergoing a major restoration during our stay which wasn’t an issue because of the weather. The park appears to cater to long term campers, rather than overnight or brief stays. We were told that if you book an entire month, you get something like a 60% discount off of the daily rate. If you drive a big rig, and are new to backing and/or parking it, ask for a pull through. Our back in site was on a narrow street, but we had no problem getting into it. The pad was asphalt and we could level our class A easily. There was a concrete pad with a picnic table on the passenger side of the rig. If you are long term, they do have lots of rules, and they do have "enforcers" who drive around in golf carts and look for infractions. We saw a neighbor get a notice pasted on their rig. I think it had something to do with the location of their picnic table. We had a full hookup site that included cable. I hooked up the cable and ran a scan, but didn’t get anywhere near the number of channels that were indicated on our paperwork. To be fair, it was raining, and I made no effort to troubleshoot the problem. We prefer channels available on off-air stations rather than what was available on cable. I believe we had 60 off-air channels to choose from. Wifi signals were plentiful, but the speed of the wifi varied tremendously, most likely due to the large number of residents in the park. We had full signal on ATT and near full signal on Verizon so we could use our phones as hotspots when the park’s wifi got slow. Many of the streets in the park are very narrow, and are one way only. We were given a map when we arrived, which was nice, but there were no street names on the map. As a result, we got lost trying to find our way to the restaurant that is in the park. If you are there for a couple of days, I suspect you'll figure out the layout of the park.My wife was excited about the on site restaurant because the menu listed a large number of gluten free choices. When we arrived at the restaurant and inquired about gluten free items, the server looked at us like a deer in headlights and informed us that they had NO gluten free items. OK, then why were we given a menu as part of our arrival package that included gluten free choices? There is a laundry directly across from the office. We did not use it because every time we drove by, all the parking places were filled suggesting that all of the washers and dryers were full. If there was a second laundry in the park, we didn't find it. The park does have regular activities for the residents. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but our sense is that they are more interested in long term campers. Your mileage may vary.
