River City RV Park Introduce
River City RV Park is situated at 4618 N Main St Office 5035 N, Jacksonville, FL 32206, USA. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, this RV park offers a location with proximity to various activities and the Springfield/Riverside areas, as noted by one of its visitors. Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida by population and offers a diverse range of attractions, including cultural venues, shopping centers, natural parks, and historical sites. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Jacksonville, River City RV Park presents a potential option with a seemingly convenient location.
The available customer reviews for River City RV Park offer contrasting perspectives on the park and its surroundings. One recent guest who stayed for a week while visiting friends provided a positive account. They acknowledged that the initial appearance of the area might not be the most "regal," but highlighted the park's proximity to activities, the presence of surveillance, and an on-site manager as features that eased their worries. This suggests that while the immediate surroundings might give some pause, the park itself offers security measures and convenient access to local points of interest.
This positive reviewer also mentioned several specific features they appreciated. The park's acceptance of their German Shepherd Dog (GSD) without breed discrimination and their older RV (2003) were noted as pleasant surprises, indicating a potentially welcoming attitude towards a diverse range of guests and rigs. The reviewer specifically commended the manager, identified as Rachel, for providing helpful information about local shops, parks, and spots in the Springfield/Riverside area, portraying her as a friendly and informative resource. Furthermore, they praised the superior water pressure and quality compared to other parks they have visited, as well as the strong WiFi and Verizon cell service, which allowed them to work remotely. Finally, they noted the park was surprisingly quiet despite having nearby neighbors with children, and expressed their intention to return in the future.
In stark contrast, another reviewer expressed a highly negative opinion, stating, "If 0 star was a rating it would by far be my option! Terrible location to be in, doesn't feel safe at all, very unwelcoming community as a whole, in my 2 weeks 2 campers caught on fire both being beside my camper! cats and dogs not on leashes but they made sure to tell me mine needed to be (which is fine but other tenants should have the same rule) so to sum it up definitely not worth your time or money I suggest staying far away from this place unless you enjoy being around the bad side of town!" This review raises serious concerns about the park's safety, the surrounding location, the sense of community, and the adherence to rules. The alarming mention of two camper fires within a two-week period is particularly concerning from a safety standpoint.
The negative reviewer also described the location as "terrible" and feeling "not safe at all," directly contradicting the positive reviewer's emphasis on proximity to activities. This suggests a significant difference in perception or experience regarding the surrounding environment. The feeling of an "unwelcoming community" is also a notable point of concern for potential guests seeking a friendly and comfortable stay. Additionally, the issue raised about inconsistent enforcement of pet leash rules indicates a potential lack of consistent park management.
Given these strongly opposing viewpoints, it is crucial for local users searching for "RV parks near me" to carefully consider both perspectives. The positive review highlights several desirable features, including a helpful manager, good utilities, pet-friendliness, and a quiet atmosphere. The negative review, however, raises serious red flags regarding safety, location, community, and management consistency. The mention of camper fires is particularly alarming and warrants further investigation or at least a heightened awareness for potential visitors.

Potential visitors should also inquire about the types of RV sites available, the hookups provided (water, electricity, sewer), the amenities offered (restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, dog park mentioned in the positive review), and any security measures in place (surveillance mentioned in the positive review).
The positive review mentions a dog park, which would be a significant feature for RV travelers with pets. Inquiring about the size and condition of this dog park would be beneficial for pet owners. The mention of surveillance is also a positive aspect that could address some safety concerns about the location. Potential guests should ask about the extent and effectiveness of the surveillance system.

River City RV Park Reviews
Recently stayed for a week while coming through the area to visit friends. On first appearance approaching it’s not the most regal area. But the proximity to activities, surveillance and on-site manager eased our worries. Our GSD met a couple of friends in the dog park. They didn’t discriminate on the breed of our dog or age of our rig (2003) which were both pleasant surprises. The manager (Rachel I believe) was definitely a ray of Florida Sunshine filling me in on the best shops, parks and spots in Springfield/Riverside area. Water pressure and quality were definitely superior compared to most parks we frequent. WiFi and our Verizon cell service was strong so we could still work remotely. Super quiet park even with close by neighbors with kids. Will definitely return next time we’re in the area.

Jan 21, 2025 · Drew SeiberWe started out booking only a week, but ended up staying a couple months. The manager was exceptionally kind and accommodating to us during the many times we called to extend our stay. Area was perfectly calm and peaceful as well. Perfect for us to slow down and relax in. Will definitely be returning here if we're ever back in the area!
Oct 05, 2024 · Anthony MooreA little run down. Dog park needs some grass and it's dirt roads throughout. The fire pit area was nice
Apr 19, 2025 · Christopher AllenThis is a very quiet place with mostly folks staying long-term, but the new owners are making many improvements which are attracting more short-term vacationers. There is a small dog park for your 4 legged friends."Manny" is the top-notch maintenance/caretaker that is usually available to help guide you to your site and will help you get hooked up with a big smile on his face. You can tell that he has a love for the park and all of the visitors that he meets.I'm excited to see the park once the renovations are completed.EDIT: this was a 5 star review, but had to be dropped to a one star. Here's why. Outdoor cats are not legal in this city, however, the park manager doesn't stop people from having them. Then, when the evict someone, they don't ensure that they take all of their pets with them. There's a special needs cat that was left behind and is hugely pregnant. Yes, I was told several times not to feed her, but I cannot watch an animal suffer. It would have been cruel to let her starve. I had arranged for her to be picked up by a rescue that never showed up. I have been working on finding homes for the kittens and mama. I have now been told to leave this week!
