When choosing an RV park, several factors come into play, including the environment, available services, unique features, and any ongoing promotions. To provide an objective overview of Healing Sands Mobile Home & RV Park, we've carefully considered information available on the internet, particularly feedback shared by past guests.
Based on customer reviews, it's important for prospective visitors to be aware of certain recurring themes. Several reviewers have expressed significant concerns regarding the park's management and maintenance. One reviewer detailed a frustrating 14-hour ordeal attempting to contact management via multiple phone numbers and emails without success. This individual also raised serious allegations about vandalism on the property and the apparent absence of on-site management, despite housing regulations potentially requiring it. They strongly advised against staying at Healing Sands or its sister property, Sandy Cove RV Park, citing safety concerns at the time of their review.
Another long-term resident who stayed at Healing Sands (formerly known as Tamarisk RV Park) also shared a critical perspective. While acknowledging the cheap rent as a potential positive, their feedback highlighted several significant drawbacks. These included inconsistent hot water supply, with wait times of up to 10 minutes, and unheated shower and toilet facilities that frequently lacked essential supplies like hand soap and toilet paper. This reviewer also pointed out potential issues with the accessibility of the showers, suggesting they might not comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act due to the absence of safety handrails. Furthermore, they raised concerns about the presence of homeless individuals wandering through the park at night and even rummaging through campsites, leading to a recommendation to seek alternative accommodations despite the lower cost.
Specific instances of maintenance issues were also brought to light in the reviews. One update mentioned a broken commode that was temporarily fixed by a resident using a paper clip, highlighting the perceived slowness of management in addressing repairs. Another review noted that the handicap restroom was out of order and the manager reportedly lacked the resources to fix it promptly, potentially causing significant inconvenience for disabled guests. Subsequent feedback indicated that the pool handicap bathroom lacked essential supplies like paper towels and was experiencing issues with the toilet flapper, requiring manual flushing. The phone line for repairs was also reportedly discontinued. These comments collectively paint a picture of a potentially under-resourced management team and slow response times to maintenance requests.
It's worth noting that not all feedback has been entirely negative. One update from June 4, 2019, mentioned that most of the weeds had been cleared, resulting in an improved appearance of the park. However, the reviewer also stated that their other negative complaints remained valid, suggesting that while some superficial improvements might occur, more fundamental issues persisted.
In contrast to potentially misleading visuals of vacant spaces, one reviewer from May 2019 cautioned that the actual living conditions in occupied spaces, including their own, involved overgrown weeds that were not being addressed by the owners. This discrepancy between the appearance of vacant and occupied sites is an important point for prospective residents to consider.
An earlier review from August 2018, upon initial arrival, offered a slightly more balanced perspective. The reviewer commended the friendliness and helpfulness of the two on-site staff members they encountered. However, they noted the age of the facilities (over 50 years) and the need for significant refurbishment, particularly in the shower rooms. Issues with the quality of toilet paper and overflowing trash cans were also mentioned. This reviewer also pointed out a potential discrepancy in fee information provided at sign-in regarding long-term stays and expressed an initial concern that the management company seemed more focused on financial aspects than customer service. While acknowledging the cheap rent as a positive, they concluded that "you get what you pay for."
An update from this same reviewer after a three-month stay further downgraded their initial rating. The lack of heating in the bathrooms during winter and the excessively long wait times for hot water were significant concerns. The limited number of chairs at the pool was also noted as a drawback, leading the reviewer to consider moving to another park.
Considering these points, local users searching for "RV parks near me" should approach Healing Sands Mobile Home & RV Park with caution and a clear understanding of the potential drawbacks highlighted in the customer reviews. While the park may offer a budget-friendly option, the feedback suggests potential issues with management responsiveness, maintenance, facility conditions, and even safety. It is strongly recommended that prospective residents or short-term visitors conduct thorough due diligence, including potentially visiting the park in person to assess the current conditions and speaking with current residents if possible, before making a decision. The contact information provided – phone numbers (760) 894-0004 and +1 760-894-0004 – can be used to inquire directly about current conditions, services, and any ongoing promotions, although the reported difficulties in contacting management should be kept in mind. The address, 18025 Langlois Rd, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92241, USA, allows for physical visits and location checks in relation to other amenities and attractions in the Desert Hot Springs area.
In conclusion, while Healing Sands Mobile Home & RV Park is listed under the category of "RV parks near me" and offers a location in Desert Hot Springs, California, the available customer reviews present a concerning picture regarding management, maintenance, and overall living conditions. Potential cost savings may be offset by the reported inconveniences and issues. Therefore, it is crucial for individuals seeking RV parks in this area to weigh these factors carefully and consider all available options before choosing a place to stay.

Healing Sands Mobile Home & RV Park Reviews
Have spent the last 14 hours trying to get in contact with Management. Called every number they have listed. Sent multiple emails, and gotten 0 response.Clearly the Management company has 0 cares when their own property is Vandalized, let alone any personal property.On-site management does NOT exist, even though housing regulations require it.DO NOT STAY HERE, or the sister property, Sandy Cove RV Park. Not until it is safe.
Apr 14, 2025 · Patrick CameronUP DATE 11/30/2019: Tomorrow I will be leaving this RV Park named Healing Sands prior known as Tamarisk RV Park. My rating remains at 1* only because I cannot give it less. The rent is cheap and if you like to have hot water that takes 10 minutes to warm up or use the showers and toilet facilities that have NO HEAT, are usually out of hand soap and toilet paper on a regular basis or use showers that violate the Americans With Disabilities Act because there are no safety hand rails in the showers or you like homeless people wandering around at night or rummage around your site at night. Then this is place is just for you. I would recommend that you spend a little more money and stay at a different place.UPDATE 7/04/2019: TODAY the Handicap Restroom is out of order and the Manager has no one to fix it. That means if a handicap person is in a wheelchair they could not use the facilities. It needs a snake and the manager won't do it.UPDATE 6/30/2019: I repaired the broken commode with a paper clip. Simple fix, but management company is too slow to take care of problems. Still no maintenance guy here. Poor manager must do it all herself. A great employee.UPDATE 6/29/2019: The pool handicap bathroom is out of Paper towels and low on toilet paper. The flapper is broke so you must put your hand in and pull it up to flush. The repair phone has been discontinued. No maintenance guy on duty. Been this way for 2 days. Upper management apparently does not care that only Martha the manager is trying to do everything by herself with no help. A really pittiful management company. Wish that I could give less than 1 star.6/4/2019: Most of the weeds have been cleared. Looks much better. The rest of my negative complaints are still valid.UPDATE 5/15/2019: Some of the pictures posted from other guests do not show the real living conditions. They show nice clean vacant spaces. THIS NOT THE TOTAL TRUTH. MY space and many others are overgrown with weeds and the owners do nothing about it. Go somewhere else. I have down graded to 1*..8/17/2018: Just arrived here and I am starting with only 3*. Staff of 2 are friendly and helpful. But facility is 50+ years old. Needs a lot of refurbishing particularly in the shower rooms. Cheap thin toilet paper and the trash can is full. Facility is very sparcely occupied on the RV side. After sign-in I was advertised that if I stayed longer than 30 days some fees like trash and sewer will be added. They collected the monthly fee and security deposit then I was informed that the rent starts on the 1st. Of the month and my fee would be prorated. Right now my opinion is that the management company is more interested in money than customer service. My posting is open and honest with no emotions. The staff of 2 are really good, the park not so much. Positive observation:. RENT IS CHEAP, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.UP DATE;11/30/2018. I have been here for 3 months and would like to down grade my original rating of 3*. Now It is Winter and the bathrooms ARE NOT HEATED. THE HOT WATER TAKES OVER 10 MINUTES TO COME ON. ONLY 2-3 CHAIRS AT THE POOL. I am thinking about going to another park.
Dec 01, 2019 · William GrayThe manager is very friendly and is very helpful with any questions regarding many different things related to any concerns or maintenance questions you might have towards your trailer while you are staying here in the park, returns your calls or calls back after.
Nov 04, 2024 · Amaari CMy husband and I stayed here for two months and enjoyed our stay. Martha was absolutely awesome. That woman works hard and truly cares. She was always available if we needed anything and was very accommodating. This park is lucky to have her. 😊The other residents in the park were great neighbors to have and everyone made us feel at home. I would definitely stay here again. Keep up the good work !Corey and Lori 😊
Jan 28, 2020 · lori ravenWe have stayed here for quite some time. You don't get what you pay for. Monica is not onsite management, a lot is not properly maintained despite how much we are charged, and there's not much thrill to under maintenance amenities
