Hillside Rv Park Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in southeastern Kansas, particularly in the vicinity of Oswego, Hillside RV Park, located at 1108 S Commercial St, Oswego, KS 67356, presents itself as a quiet and convenient option for RV travelers. You can reach them at (620) 795-2471 or +1 620-795-2471 for inquiries. Based on recent customer feedback available online, Hillside RV Park is characterized by its peaceful atmosphere, easy access, and the friendly and helpful nature of the owner, Todd. However, it's important to note that the park caters specifically to self-contained RVs and does not offer certain amenities like public restrooms, showers, or campfire areas.
Multiple reviewers have highlighted the tranquil environment of Hillside RV Park. One guest described it as a "very peaceful little park," emphasizing its suitability for those seeking a quiet retreat. Another reviewer reiterated this point, stating it's a "very quiet place to set up while you visit the area." This consistent feedback suggests that Hillside RV Park offers a serene setting, likely away from significant noise or traffic, making it an appealing choice for travelers prioritizing peace and quiet during their stay.
The park also appears to offer practical features for RVers. Both reviews mention "fhu pull-thru sites" and "full site hookups," indicating that guests can expect complete connections for water, sewer, and electricity at their designated spaces. The availability of pull-through sites is particularly advantageous for larger rigs, as it simplifies the process of entering and exiting the site without the need for backing up. One reviewer also noted that the sites are "level pull-through sites," which is crucial for ensuring the proper functioning of RV appliances and overall comfort.
A recurring positive comment revolves around the owner, Todd. Guests consistently describe him as "great," "very nice," and "friendly and helpful." One reviewer recounted how Todd "led us to our site," demonstrating a personal touch and willingness to assist guests upon arrival. Such positive interactions with the park owner can significantly enhance the overall experience, creating a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
In terms of the surrounding environment, one reviewer noted that there isn't "much in town," referring to Oswego. This suggests that while Hillside RV Park provides a quiet setting, the immediate local area might have limited attractions or services. However, the same reviewer pointed out a significant convenience: "the grocery store across the road was nice with pleasant people." Having a grocery store in close proximity can be a major benefit for RVers needing to restock supplies during their travels.
It is crucial to understand the limitations of Hillside RV Park based on the customer feedback. One reviewer explicitly stated, "if you're in a self-contained rig or trailer and want a very quiet place to set up while you visit the area, this will do very nicely!" This highlights a key characteristic of the park: it is best suited for RVs that have their own onboard bathroom and shower facilities. The same reviewer clearly mentioned that Hillside RV Park is "not the place for those who need shower/bathroom accommodations (there are none)." This is a critical piece of information for potential guests who rely on public facilities at RV parks.
Additionally, Hillside RV Park does not allow campfires, as noted by one reviewer: "(or want a campfire (not allowed))." For travelers who enjoy the ambiance and warmth of a campfire, this restriction might be a disappointment. It's important for guests to be aware of this rule before booking their stay.
One reviewer mentioned that "the laundry is kind of run down." While laundry facilities are available, their condition might not be optimal. This is something to consider for those planning longer stays who may need to do laundry during their visit.
The reviews do not provide specific details about other potential amenities at Hillside RV Park, such as Wi-Fi access, pet policies, or any recreational areas. However, the emphasis on a quiet and basic setup suggests that the park focuses on providing essential hookups and a peaceful environment rather than extensive facilities.
Given the information available, Hillside RV Park appears to cater to a specific type of RVer: those traveling in self-contained units who prioritize a quiet and convenient place to park with full hookups while exploring the surrounding area. The friendly and helpful owner, Todd, seems to be a significant asset to the park. The easy access and level pull-through sites add to the convenience, and the proximity to a grocery store is a definite plus.
However, potential guests must be aware of the lack of public restrooms and showers, the prohibition of campfires, and the potentially rundown condition of the laundry facilities. If these amenities are essential to your travel needs, Hillside RV Park might not be the most suitable choice. Similarly, if you are looking for an RV park with extensive recreational activities or a bustling community atmosphere, the "very peaceful little park" nature of Hillside might not align with your preferences.
There is no information available in the provided reviews regarding any promotional offers or special rates at Hillside RV Park. Individuals interested in staying at the park should contact them directly at (620) 795-2471 or +1 620-795-2471 to inquire about their current pricing, availability, and any potential discounts for longer stays or other circumstances.
In conclusion, Hillside RV Park in Oswego, Kansas, offers a quiet and peaceful setting with easy access and level pull-through sites with full hookups. The friendly and helpful owner, Todd, is a significant positive aspect. It is an ideal choice for travelers in self-contained RVs who are looking for a convenient base to explore the area and value tranquility. However, it is not suitable for those who require public restroom and shower facilities or desire campfire privileges. The laundry facilities may also be in less than ideal condition. Contacting the park directly for current rates and availability is recommended.

Hillside Rv Park Reviews
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in late October, in a fhu pull-thru sites. It was a very peaceful little park, easy access, and the owner Todd was great. He led us to our site, and each time we chatted with him he was a very nice and friendly person. Not much in town, and the laundry is kind of run down, but the grocery store across the road was nice with pleasant people. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Nov 04, 2024 · Rick SussmanIf you're looking for a place with lots of stuff for kids (or grownups who wanna be kids) to do, this isn't your spot. Also not the place for those who need shower/bathroom accommodations (there are none) or want a campfire (not allowed). HOWEVER - if you're in a self-contained rig or trailer and want a very quiet place to set up while you visit the area, this will do very nicely! Owner Todd is very friendly and helpful. Full site hookups, level pull-through sites, and did I mention quiet?
Oct 15, 2024 · Chad D. BausWe just stayed the night when passing through.Todd Riley (the owner) is as pleasant as they come. He keeps a well kept RV park.
Nov 08, 2024 · Tom DawdyThis is a great place to stay. Todd was very accommodating and the site was nice and level. It's also nice and quiet. We definitely recommend this Park. Will stay there again.
Sep 22, 2023 · Michelle MillerDon't let the run down mobile homes at the front dissuade you from staying. Todd is a very nice guy, our site was level, utilities all worked, it was quiet with lots of green space. Also has a storm shelter by the office. Across the street from a grocery store and a Dollar General. Improvements would be an enclosed dog park as well as a bathhouse/laundry. Definitely would stay again!
