Holiday Travel Park Introduce
If you are searching for "RV parks near me" in the Bunnell, Florida area, it is crucial to be aware of recent feedback regarding Holiday Travel Park, located at 2261 S Old Dixie Hwy. While the park has seemingly had long-term residents returning for years, recent reviews paint a concerning picture for prospective visitors. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the experiences shared by recent customers.
Several reviews from individuals who appear to have been long-term seasonal guests at Holiday Travel Park express significant disappointment with the current state of the campground. One reviewer, who had been staying for 3-4 months annually for the past five years, notes a stark decline in quality "till this year!" This downturn is attributed to a "new president and board of the housing area" who now manage the campground and have reportedly "made it clear they don’t like campers!" This sentiment suggests a potentially unwelcoming or even hostile environment for RVers visiting the park.
Further অভিযোগ কেন্দ্রিক around the new management extends to the office staff. The "New Office mgr -Kathy" is specifically mentioned as "so lacking in customer service and absolutely rude to everyone but friends with board member brenda who has sane attitude issues." This paints a picture of unprofessional and unpleasant interactions with the park's administrative personnel, potentially impacting the overall experience for guests needing assistance or information.
Significant concerns have also been raised regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the park's facilities. One long-term guest reports that "bathrooms have been so dirty this year they fired girl who used to maintain them spotlessly." This suggests a noticeable decline in hygiene standards within the communal bathroom areas. Adding to these issues, the same reviewer notes a "lack of hot water in bathrooms," a fundamental amenity that is often expected in RV parks for comfortable stays.
The condition of advertised amenities also appears to be a point of contention. The pool, which was "supposed to be heated," reportedly was not operational until February, despite the reviewer's three-month stay prior to that. This failure to provide a promised amenity can be particularly disappointing for guests expecting to utilize these facilities, especially during cooler months.
Furthermore, basic site maintenance seems to be lacking. The same long-term guest states that "our grass in our spot never once got mowed in 3 months." This neglect of groundskeeping can lead to an unkempt and potentially unpleasant living space for RVers. Additionally, the reviewer highlights that "fire ants are a major major issue!" indicating a pest problem that can significantly impact the comfort and enjoyment of outdoor spaces at the campsites.
Amidst the negative feedback, one positive note is directed towards "Tim the maintenance guy," who is described as "a gem." However, this positive acknowledgment is overshadowed by the report that the "office treats him horribly!" This suggests internal management issues that may be contributing to the overall decline in park quality and atmosphere.
The relationship between the campground and the residents of the adjacent "housing area" also appears strained. While "the residents of housing area are over all great except for a few like current president of the group and his sister," these individuals are accused of creating a negative environment by allegedly knocking on doors and "scream at people if they post anything negative! and threaten them with eviction!" This alarming behavior suggests a climate of intimidation and suppression of feedback within the community.
The extent of the dissatisfaction is further emphasized by the fact that "as of now 9 campers who have been returning year after year for snowbird season will NOT be returning due to climate they have created!" This significant loss of repeat business speaks volumes about the severity of the issues and the negative impact of the current management policies and behavior.
In contrast to the overwhelmingly negative feedback from long-term guests, one seemingly isolated review offers a highly positive experience. This reviewer specifically praises "Darlene" for her "warm and welcoming personality" and for going "above and beyond" to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay. This positive anecdote suggests that there may be individual staff members who are providing excellent customer service. However, the weight of the negative reviews, particularly from long-term returning guests, raises serious concerns about the overall management and conditions of the park.
Considering the significant and consistent complaints regarding management rudeness, lack of cleanliness, unfulfilled amenities, poor site maintenance, pest issues, and a hostile environment created by certain individuals associated with the housing area's management, potential visitors searching for "RV parks near me" in Bunnell, FL should exercise extreme caution when considering Holiday Travel Park. The discrepancy between the positive experience highlighted by one reviewer and the numerous negative experiences, especially from those with years of familiarity with the park, suggests that the current conditions may be significantly impacting the quality of stay for most campers.
Promotional information is not provided in the reviews, and given the current negative feedback, it would be advisable for prospective guests to seek alternative RV parks in the Bunnell or Flagler County area until the reported issues at Holiday Travel Park are addressed and verified to be resolved. The strong warnings from former loyal guests should be taken seriously, as they indicate a significant decline in the standards and atmosphere of the campground. It would be prudent to look for RV parks with more consistently positive and recent reviews to ensure a more enjoyable and hassle-free camping experience in the region.

Apr 08, 2025 · Lori HohmannExhausted from driving, we were happy to find a reasonably priced campground for the week. But when we wanted to use the shower room, close to us, by the pool, the shower NEVER got remotely warm, yes I tried both of them. My husband also DID NOT have a shower this night as his was cold also. Night 1, no shower for us. Did I mention we both got independently attacked by fire ants on first night also... just by plugging in our electric? My husband did ask about the shower situation at the front desk, the next day. Seems like it's been a problem for a while, but was told "tom" would check it out...Night 2 we tried a different shower house, in the residential area of the park. My shower was barely luke warm, my husbands was nice and hot. Night 3, 4, 5, and 6, I was forced to sneak into the MENS shower, late at night, just so I could take a hot shower. Night 7 we found another shower house on the far side of the park, and I finally had a warm shower in the LADIES room. After our first week there, I went back to the first shower room, by the pool, close to our rv, once again hoping the problem might have been solved....i get undressed, and ran borh showers to see if it would warm up...Nope, no warm water...so i got dressed, and visited the office to inquire about the ladies shower, and was told...."yada yada yada, we know about the problem yada yada yada" .... I suggested that they should, at least put a sign in the ladies shower room to inform guests, as a courtesy, that the showers WON'T PRODUCE HOT WATER. Then the ladies will NOT BE standing there naked for 10 minutes, getting splashed by tiny shower curtains, praying for a hint of HEAT, as I had now experienced TWICE...As I was leaving out the front door of the office, after having had this short conversation with the front desk ladies, I was told that "cold showers" are actually "better" for me. Yes, that's REALLY what she told me. No solutions, just "funny" jokes. Imagine this...a stranger thinking that an ice cold shower, would be " better" for me, than a warm one??? I don't get this "joke". (The morning of 2-11-2025 if you want to check the cameras). Also if you want check the cameras of me having to use the mens room shower...I'm in the same outfit each night between 9 and 10 pm..., I'm wearing a black and white checked mans flannel, w a black beanie hat...me pretending to be a MAN... just to get a hot shower here. Thankfully, I did not run into any men, other than my hubby. There is only one thing I want in my camping experience....a warm shower at night. So...ladies and gentlemen of bike week 2025...plz be warned. The residents of this community do seem amazingly sweet. I've interacted with many of them. They DO have a lovely large shaded area of pine trees that my doggies enjoyed. Nice laundry facilities. The pool is NOT HEATED. Bathrooms do have mold galore, and do not appear to be cleaned very often. Parts of this park are bordering the interstate, so expect traffic noises, and noxious air quality when there is no breeze. We had no picnic table. Bonus points for being a laid back place...the neighbor was hitting a big bong, everyday, all day long outside....we named him White Cloud, also many cool doggies live here.Overall I would suggest the front desk ladies, not try to be comedians when it comes to a simple legitimate inquiry about a legitimate problem I had experienced, and others will also experience. A simple sign saying "SHOWER DOES NOT HAVE HOT WATER" but no....I got a suggestion that cold showers are "better" for me. Hey ladies.....YOUR customer service skills could be "better".
Feb 13, 2025 · Dawna ValentineGreat customer service. But lacks the front desk personnel to handle all of the visitors and calls and lacks the personnel needed in the back office to get the business organized, structured and update software for time efficiency
Feb 07, 2025 · Megan DermodyOne exit from the largest dealership in the world. Fire rings and wood. They serve breakfast every morning at the rec. hall. The employees are amiable.
