Lake Shasta Pines RV Park Introduce
If you're searching for "RV parks near me" and considering a destination near the stunning Lake Shasta in California, Lake Shasta Pines RV Park, located at 19663 Solus Campground Rd, Lakehead, CA 96051, USA, is an option that may appear in your search. You can contact them at (530) 482-6136 or via mobile at +1 530-482-6136. Based on recent online reviews, the park presents a mixed experience, with some guests highlighting positive aspects while others express concerns regarding amenities and management.
One recent reviewer described Lake Shasta Pines RV Park as a "wonderful place to stay," praising the owner as "one of the nicest people" with a "huge heart." This positive feedback suggests a friendly and welcoming atmosphere fostered by the management. The same reviewer highlighted the presence of a "beautiful pool" and a "huge deck" offering shaded relaxation under Wisteria vines. Additionally, they mentioned a pool house equipped with a laundry room and "clean, roomy, hot showers," indicating that these essential amenities are available to guests and are well-maintained.
The location of Lake Shasta Pines RV Park is also lauded, with "breath taking, mountainous retreat" views that reportedly bring daily joy to the reviewer. A significant advantage is the park's proximity to Shasta Lake, described as being "right across the street" and within walking distance. This makes it an ideal location for those interested in lake activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. The reviewer also mentioned the enjoyable perk of "sparking up a Summer party with bands and food on the grills," suggesting a social and community-oriented environment during warmer months.
Furthermore, this positive review noted that the residents at Lake Shasta Pines RV Park are "very welcoming and very sweet to be around," contributing to a pleasant social atmosphere. The park is also described as "very clean," and the presence of "hiking friendly trails alongside a creek that runs all year round" adds to the appeal for nature enthusiasts and those who enjoy outdoor activities directly from the park.
However, another recent review presents a contrasting perspective, particularly concerning the pool. This reviewer inquired about the absence of a pool this year, noting that while it might not have been the best-maintained in the past, it was a welcome way to cool down. A significant point of dissatisfaction was the lack of proactive communication regarding the pool's unavailability. The reviewer stated that they were not notified and had to ask twice before receiving an explanation. This suggests potential issues with communication from the management to the guests.
The same reviewer also expressed a broader concern about the park's upkeep, stating, "...as is everything in this place, it's all the same like that too here," implying a general lack of investment in maintenance beyond the pool. The reviewer also recounted a situation involving a cat population within the park. They, along with their husband and another person, took it upon themselves to care for the cats at their own expense, including homing healthy kittens and fixing adult cats. Despite their efforts and the significant reduction in the cat population, they reported "no appreciation from the owner at all," but rather "bad comments and snide remarks." This paints a picture of a potentially unappreciative management regarding resident-initiated improvements.
The reviewer further elaborated on the initial state of the cat population, describing it as a "mass population of inbreed, sick cats" due to unfixed and breeding animals, allegedly a pre-existing issue with the owner's management. They stated that they primarily stayed at the park to address this cat issue, which was exacerbated by previous tenants abandoning animals. Ultimately, this reviewer did not recommend the park to anyone new, expressing their desire to leave after their five-year stay once they felt they had resolved the cat situation.
Considering these two contrasting accounts, Lake Shasta Pines RV Park offers a potentially appealing location near Lake Shasta with scenic views and a welcoming community, as highlighted by one reviewer. Amenities such as a pool (though its availability appears inconsistent), laundry facilities, and showers are mentioned as positives. The proximity to the lake and hiking trails adds to its attractiveness for outdoor enthusiasts.
However, potential guests should also be aware of the concerns raised by another reviewer regarding communication about amenities (specifically the pool), potential underinvestment in overall maintenance, and reported negative interactions with the owner regarding resident-led improvements. The issue with the cat population, while seemingly addressed by residents, also points to a past or ongoing challenge within the park.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Lake Shasta area, Lake Shasta Pines RV Park offers a location with access to the lake and natural beauty. The positive review suggests a friendly owner and a pleasant environment with certain amenities. However, the negative review raises important questions about the reliability of amenities and the management's responsiveness and appreciation of residents. It would be advisable for prospective guests to contact the park directly to inquire about the current status of the pool and other amenities, as well as to understand the park's policies and management style.
Given the conflicting feedback, a personal visit to Lake Shasta Pines RV Park, if feasible, could provide a more informed perspective. Speaking with current residents directly might also offer additional insights into the day-to-day living experience at the park. Weighing the potential benefits of the location and community against the reported issues with amenities and management will be crucial for anyone considering a stay at Lake Shasta Pines RV Park.

Lake Shasta Pines RV Park Reviews
No pool this year? It may not be the best kept pool, but it was a good way to get cooled down if you wanted too. We never even got notified of it not going to be usable this year?No one willingly explained it to us, we had to ask why it's still empty. We only got an answer after asking twice? It's still advertised as up and going in pictures, but no, it doesn't seem the owner wants to put out any money on this pool, as is everything in this place, it's all the same like that too here. This place is better than after I first got here, after a few people finally got made to leave that made it much better, more peaceful with those people gone now and is safer to live here now that the bad ones are gone. Also, after my husband and I, with one other person here, we took really good care of the cat population here, finally. Out of our own pockets too, but it was worth it. No appreciation from the owner at all, just bad comments and snide remarks towards us for what was her problem not ours to take care of. Even though her management has so many unhealthy cats that are not fixed either, that just breed over and over causing mass population of inbreed, sick cats all over their area. We've homed many healthy kitties and fixed so many adult cats, it was a challenge, a bit of an experience too, but it was worth it to get this side of the parks cat population calmed down and not breeding anymore, like when I first moved here. We have only stayed to care for these cats that needed help, the past tenants abandon them all as they exited this park, in a hurry, too.I don't recommend this place to anyone new, really? I'm good with it after over 5 years finishing out with the mess of cats there were here in the beginning. We are down to only 7 cats left now, we only had two when we came here, so I'm getting closer to being done with what we set out to accomplish in this place hopefully we're almost able to leave here soon.I'll miss a small group of people I've gotten close enough to I now l call them family, so I'm sure we wouldn't lose contact with most once we are able to finally get out of here someday...
Jun 07, 2024 · Charlie Chucky (Chucky)Lake Shasta Pines RV Park is a wonderful place to stay! The owner is one of the nicest people I know; huge heart! This park offers a beautiful pool and a huge deck to relax under the shade of Wisteria ❤ The pool house is equipped with a laundry room and clean, roomy, hot showers. The views of breath taking, mountainous retreat puts a smile on my face every Day! Shasta Lake is right across the street; walking distance. Sparking up a Summer party with bands and food on the grills is another one of the many perks I enjoy. The residents here are very welcoming and very sweet to be around. This park is very clean and the trails are hiking friendly along side a creek that runs all year round. Don't knock it till you try it! I love it here!!
Feb 21, 2018 · Hazel ArcherVery nice private park tucked in the forest. Previous reviewer must have visited during the depth of the drought, when every local business had water restrictions and had to take emergency measures,. I live in Seattle area and often travel to Los Angeles, this campground is exactly halfway between and right on I-5.I have stayed there 4 or 5 times. Never had a problem with the electrical plugs or any of the hookups. Nice hot showers.
Dec 09, 2014 · Bud GreeneIf i could give 0 stars I would. Pulling up there isn’t camper friendly, nor were the sites. If you choose to stay, which I WOULD NOT recommend good luck even getting your camper out of there. All the campers and vehicles are covered in tarps with piles of what I would consider trash all around them. If you can stay else where please do. The pictures on here make this place WAY better than it is.
Nov 22, 2021 · Maria WhittCan't believe this place EVER got a good review!!I'm reviewing a place on Solus Campground Rd, this place is not near the lake or anything else, and has no amenities.I can't step outside without stepping in dog & cat feces. My little dog has almost been bitten twice. Thieves, drug dealers, and junkies (arguing and yelling, all day and night) & robbing your neighbors seems to be acceptable behavior, based on who the manager and owner are friends with. Intermittent water supply. The list of what DOES work in the trailer I rented would be shorter than list of what DOESN'T WORK. Not safe, not clean and the landlady DOESN'T CARE about anything.
