Cons:1) you can’t sit outside because there is a very strong smell of poop wafting everywhere.2) they charge a pet fee (a new policy) but don’t disclose it before completing the reservation (you see the fee when you receive your receipt.) If they charge a pet fee, they could use that money to make an effort to make the property not smell like poop.3) the showers are SO POORLY designed. The shower area is literally 2’x2’ (the handicapped spot isn’t even large enough to fit a wheelchair inside. The door opens INWARDS so you have to do gymnastics to enter the shower and close the door.4) Bathrooms are NOT cleaned thoroughly. There was a solid layer of dust on every flat surface of the shower that was THICK BLACK as it drained. And two of the women’s showers smelled of urine. There is only one working restroom in the park and yet they can’t properly clean even the ONE bathroom.5) the sites are VERY narrow. I parked with my wheels an inch from the edge on the utility side and I still don’t have enough room to step out of my rig except onto the grass. (See #1…clearly there is a dog poop problem and cats that roam freely. I’m not stepping on the grass to accidentally step on poop.)6) there is a gate that requires a code to enter the main entrance but the entrance by the storage facility is open 24/7, there isn’t even a pin pad at that entrance.7) sewer hole is on an uphill slant, so even with graded risers, you must manipulate your stinky slinky to drain it.8) You do not feel welcome when you check in, it is clear you are viewed merely as a transaction. But they were quick to send a text the night before checkout to try to get you to stay more nightsPros:1) water pressure is decent2) convenient to downtown3) sites are level - Fem GenX

Roadrunner RV Park Introduce

When searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City, Roadrunner RV Park, located at 4740 S I-35 Service Rd Exit 123A, Oklahoma City, OK 73129, USA, presents itself as an option. To provide a detailed and objective introduction for local users, it's crucial to consider the recent feedback from individuals who have stayed at this park. The reviews offer a mixed perspective, highlighting both advantages and significant drawbacks that potential guests should be aware of.

One of the primary advantages of Roadrunner RV Park, consistently mentioned in the reviews, is its convenient location. It is noted to be conveniently located near downtown Oklahoma City, making it a potentially suitable base for those wishing to explore the city's attractions, entertainment, and business districts. Additionally, for those visiting or needing to be close to the Oklahoma Children's Hospital, the park is described as being only about 5 minutes away, which can be a critical factor for families needing medical access.

Another noted positive aspect is the decent water pressure at the RV sites. Reliable water pressure is essential for comfortable RV living, facilitating showering, dishwashing, and other daily needs. Furthermore, the reviews indicate that the sites themselves are level, which is crucial for ensuring the proper functioning of RV appliances and overall stability.

Adding to the positive aspects, one reviewer specifically commended the gentleman at the front desk, describing him as "awesome" and noting his consistent presence and helpfulness during previous stays. Positive interactions with park staff can significantly enhance the guest experience, providing assistance and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

However, alongside these advantages, several significant concerns have been raised by a recent guest, detailing multiple cons that potential visitors should carefully consider. The most prominent issue is a persistent and strong smell of feces reported throughout the park, which severely impacts the ability to comfortably spend time outdoors. This is a major environmental factor that could detract significantly from the enjoyment of staying at Roadrunner RV Park.

Another point of contention is the park's pet fee policy. The reviewer notes that while a pet fee is charged (a new policy), this fee is not disclosed before the completion of the reservation, only appearing on the final receipt. The reviewer suggests that if a pet fee is in place, the funds should be used to address the reported odor issue, implying a connection between pet waste management and the smell.

Significant concerns are also raised regarding the design and cleanliness of the bathroom and shower facilities. The showers are described as extremely small (approximately 2'x2'), with the handicapped accessible shower not even being large enough for a wheelchair. The inward-opening door design is also criticized for making entry and exit difficult. Moreover, the cleanliness of the bathrooms is questioned, with reports of a thick layer of black dust on surfaces in the shower area and the smell of urine in some of the women's showers. The reviewer expresses concern over the fact that even with only one working restroom in the park, proper cleaning is not being maintained.

The size of the RV sites is also noted as a disadvantage, described as "very narrow." The reviewer recounts parking with their wheels close to the utility edge and still lacking sufficient space to comfortably step out of their RV onto anything other than the grass. This is compounded by the reported dog and cat feces issue on the grass, making it an undesirable area to step onto. The narrowness of the sites could also pose challenges for maneuvering larger RVs and deploying slide-outs.

Security is another area where concerns are raised. While there is a gate at the main entrance that requires a code for entry, an entrance by the storage facility is reportedly open 24/7 and lacks any form of access control. This inconsistency in security measures could be a concern for the safety and peace of mind of guests.

Furthermore, the reviewer describes an issue with the sewer hookup, noting that the hole is on an uphill slant. This design requires extra effort and manipulation of the sewer hose to ensure proper drainage, which can be an unpleasant and inconvenient task.

Finally, the check-in experience is described as unwelcoming, with the reviewer feeling like they were treated merely as a transaction. This lack of hospitality at arrival can set a negative tone for the stay. However, it's worth noting the contrast with the positive feedback regarding the gentleman at the front desk from another reviewer, suggesting potential inconsistencies in staff interactions or experiences.

In conclusion, Roadrunner RV Park offers the advantages of a convenient location near downtown Oklahoma City and the Oklahoma Children's Hospital, decent water pressure, and level sites. The presence of at least one helpful staff member is also a positive aspect. However, potential guests must carefully weigh these benefits against the significant drawbacks highlighted in a recent review, including a pervasive fecal odor, undisclosed pet fees, poorly designed and potentially unclean bathroom facilities, narrow sites, inconsistent security, and a challenging sewer hookup design. The contrasting positive feedback regarding cleanliness from a different reviewer suggests that conditions might vary or that different individuals have different standards or experiences.

For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in Oklahoma City, Roadrunner RV Park presents a location that could be advantageous for specific needs, such as proximity to downtown or the children's hospital. However, the reported environmental and facility issues are serious considerations that should not be overlooked. Potential guests are strongly advised to seek more recent reviews or, if possible, visit the park themselves to assess the current conditions before making a reservation. Inquiring directly with the management about the reported issues and their efforts to address them would also be a prudent step. Without further information or a response from the park management to the concerns raised, a fully comprehensive and unequivocally positive recommendation cannot be made based on the currently available online feedback.
