Sandy Cove RV Park Introduce
Sandy Cove RV Park, located at 17325 Johnson Rd, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92241, USA, presents itself as an option for those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Desert Hot Springs area. With contact numbers (760) 671-6669 and +1 760-671-6669, this park has garnered a range of feedback from visitors, painting a somewhat complex picture for potential guests.
One of the more positive aspects highlighted in the reviews is the presence of unique amenities. The park features a pool heated by mineral springs to a reported 94 degrees and a hot tub reaching 104 degrees. This mineral water experience is described as "wonderful" and "relaxing and rejuvenating," particularly appealing during cooler evenings and mornings. The park is also noted as an "adults only park," which contributes to a quieter atmosphere and potentially lower chemical usage in the water, which was appreciated by one reviewer.
Furthermore, the same positive review mentioned clearly updated restrooms and the pleasant sight of bunnies and ducklings around the property in the morning, suggesting a connection with nature and well-maintained facilities in certain areas. The reviewer who arrived late on a Saturday night also commended the owner for meeting them at the gate, directing them to their tent/car camping spot, and facilitating a quick and efficient payment process ($30 for the site). This indicates that under certain circumstances, the park can offer helpful and accommodating service.
However, it is crucial to consider the significantly negative feedback provided by another reviewer who claims to have lived at Sandy Cove for three years. This long-term resident expresses serious concerns regarding the current management team, stating they are "not located on site, as required." The reviewer alleges that "vandalism reports go unanswered" and that there is "0 response" to personal property damage due to vandalism. This lack of response to security and maintenance issues is a serious concern for potential residents and short-term visitors alike.
The negative review further claims that "the phone numbers are left unattended" and that the "emergency maintenance phone just loops you back into the same voicemail hell as the listed phone numbers." These allegations suggest significant issues with communication and the availability of timely assistance, particularly in emergencies. The most alarming part of this review is the claim of "drug addicts walking the park naked," which, if true, indicates a severe safety and security problem within the community.
Adding another layer of concern, the negative reviewer advises others to "DO NOT STAY HERE" in emphatic capital letters. They also raise a serious ethical issue, alleging that the park offers "rent credits for positive reviews," suggesting a potential manipulation of online feedback and a "PR campaign in the face of failing responsibility." If this claim is accurate, it means that some positive reviews may not reflect the genuine experiences of all guests, and potential visitors should approach all feedback with a degree of skepticism.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the environment of Sandy Cove RV Park appears to be a mix of potentially relaxing natural elements, such as the mineral springs pool and the presence of wildlife, alongside serious concerns about safety, security, and management responsiveness. The desert location of Desert Hot Springs itself offers a unique backdrop, but the internal environment of the park, according to one long-term resident, may be troubled.
In terms of services and features, the park reportedly offers 30- and 50-amp hookups (mentioned in an external source), a hot-mineral-water pool and spa, and laundry facilities. The updated restrooms mentioned in a positive review are also a feature worth noting. However, the allegations of unattended phone lines and unresponsive emergency maintenance raise significant questions about the reliability and accessibility of essential services when needed.
The "adults only" policy can be seen as a feature that caters to a specific demographic seeking a quieter environment. The tent/car camping option with a $30 nightly rate (as mentioned in one review) indicates that the park might cater to different types of travelers with varying budget levels. However, the lack of consistent management presence and the alleged safety issues could outweigh these features for many potential visitors.
Promotional information is scarce and potentially unreliable due to the claim of rent credits for positive reviews. Therefore, any positive mentions of the park should be viewed with caution until further objective information can be verified. Potential guests should be wary of relying solely on online reviews and should consider contacting the park directly with very specific questions about security measures, on-site management presence, emergency protocols, and the handling of complaints or incidents.
Given the significant discrepancies in the provided feedback, it is impossible to give a fully objective and positive introduction to Sandy Cove RV Park without acknowledging the serious allegations raised by at least one long-term resident. While some visitors have reported positive experiences, particularly regarding the mineral pools and the initial welcome, the claims of mismanagement, unattended safety concerns, and unethical review practices are severe and should not be ignored by anyone considering a stay here.
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in Desert Hot Springs, Sandy Cove RV Park presents a complex case. The potential for a relaxing stay in mineral waters and an adults-only environment might be appealing. However, the serious allegations regarding safety, unresponsive management, and potentially misleading reviews necessitate extreme caution. It is strongly recommended that potential visitors conduct thorough due diligence, seek recent and verifiable feedback from multiple sources, and directly contact the park with detailed inquiries to assess whether the current conditions align with their safety and comfort expectations. The stark contrast in the provided reviews serves as a critical reminder to look beyond surface-level information when choosing an RV park.

I have lived here for 3 years. The newest management team is not located on site, as required. Vandalism reports go unanswered. Personal property that has been Vandalized gets 0 response. Apr 14, 2025 · Patrick CameronWe loved this park! Arrived late on a Saturday night and the owner met us at the front gate and let us in, he directed us toward our spot, and we paid ($30 for a tent/car camping site) - it was quick and efficient! There is a pool that’s heated with the mineral springs to 94 degrees, and a hot tub to 104 degrees. Even though it was chilly, it felt wonderful at night and in the morning in both! It’s an adults only park so there are very little chemicals in the water. The restrooms were clearly updated, and in the morning there were lots of little bunnies and some ducklings walking around. We would for sure stay here again if in the area - it was a relaxing and rejuvenating stay!
Mar 25, 2019 · Teresa BrowningI’ve been at this RV Park for almost 3 years now. The environment here is clean, which really makes a difference. The grounds are well-kept, and you can tell they put effort into maintaining the space. It’s peaceful and has a lot of friendly neighbors, and just an all-around great place to stay. -Charlotte Gutierrez
Feb 02, 2025 · J GutierrezThis park & Dean (the host/everything guy) is marvelous! There's a mineral heated pool, mineral hot tub, laundry facility, nice bathrooms with showers (all remodeled), even a dog park area. FYI: It's an adult park so no young children (which I personally was happy about as I have no children & appreciate quieter evenings). Dean assists with back-in & hooking up & is a wealth of information for activities nearby & even recommended an auto shop for me (I needed an alternator). Oh & the views are wonderful!
Mar 27, 2019 · Denise Lynn Bramhall (De)I've been here for 2-1/2 years. I made this my second home. I'm not there all the time, but I always felt welcomed. New management has come in and really looks over the park and in the office if there's a problem. They have a pool and a jacuzzi with lounge chairs, bar-b-que, and a new patio. There is also a game room with access to books and movies for your stay. Now, I see they are accepting shorter stays and overnighter, too.
