Sun Outdoors St. Augustine Introduce
Are you searching for "RV parks near me" in the historic and picturesque St. Augustine, Florida area? Sun Outdoors St. Augustine, situated at 1505 State Rd 207, presents a potential option for both short-term visitors and those seeking a longer-term RV living experience. This park benefits from its prime location, offering convenient access to the rich history, beautiful beaches, and vibrant downtown of St. Augustine.
Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Sun Outdoors St. Augustine appear to be varied. One reviewer describes it as a "very nice resort to visit for a short time or the long-term," praising the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. This positive sentiment suggests that guests can expect a welcoming atmosphere and assistance from the park's team during their stay. The same reviewer also highlights the park's advantageous location, noting its proximity to local attractions, downtown St. Augustine, and the beaches. This ease of access is a significant draw for those looking to explore the historical sites, enjoy the coastal scenery, and experience the local culture that St. Augustine has to offer.
However, another recent review presents a contrasting perspective, describing the park as a "trashy trailer park" and expressing disappointment compared to other Sun parks visited. This reviewer indicates that a significant portion of the sites (approximately 85%) are occupied by long-term residents, which they felt contributed to a less resort-like atmosphere. Concerns were raised about the presence of "stuff" around the sites, including trash, overflowing bins, general clutter, and multiple vehicles. This led to a perceived lack of safety beyond the initial "premium" area of the park. The reviewer also noted a haphazard arrangement of sites, suggesting a less organized layout, and criticized the cleanliness, mentioning lingering leaves and trash. Furthermore, they found the internal roads to be tight, potentially posing challenges for larger RVs, and highlighted significant traffic congestion due to the park's density and a shared entrance road with an apartment complex.
This critical review also addresses the amenities and value for money. Despite a nightly rate in the $130 range, including a resort fee, the reviewer states that expected resort-style amenities such as daily trash pickup, cleaned sites upon arrival, and adequate pool facilities were lacking. This suggests that while the pricing might align with a resort expectation, the actual experience, in this reviewer's opinion, did not meet those standards. The recommendation for Sun to consider divesting and building a new resort-style park in the area further underscores the significant discrepancy this reviewer perceived.
Considering these contrasting viewpoints is crucial for local users searching for "RV parks near me." The positive review emphasizes the friendly staff and convenient location, which are undoubtedly valuable aspects of any RV park experience. The proximity to St. Augustine's key attractions, downtown area with its historic charm, and the allure of the nearby beaches makes Sun Outdoors St. Augustine a potentially attractive base for exploration.
On the other hand, the negative review raises important considerations regarding the park's environment, cleanliness, layout, and the prevalence of long-term residents. For short-term RV travelers seeking a resort-style experience with well-maintained grounds and ample amenities, these concerns should be carefully weighed. The tight internal roads and traffic situation could also be significant factors for those traveling in larger rigs.
Given the information available, it is difficult to provide a definitive assessment of the "services" and "features" of Sun Outdoors St. Augustine without a comprehensive list from the park itself. However, based on the reviews, potential services and features might include:
- RV sites with hookups (details of water, electric, and sewer connections are not specified).
- Restroom and shower facilities (cleanliness is a point of contention in one review).
- Laundry facilities (not explicitly mentioned).
- Potentially a pool area (adequacy is questioned in one review).
- Friendly and helpful staff (highlighted in a positive review).
- Proximity to local attractions, downtown St. Augustine, and beaches.
- Long-term residency options.
Information regarding specific amenities such as Wi-Fi, recreational areas, pet policies, or organized activities is not provided in the given text. Therefore, local users interested in Sun Outdoors St. Augustine are strongly encouraged to contact the park directly at (904) 824-3574 or +1 904-824-3574 to inquire about the availability of specific services and features relevant to their needs.
In terms of "promotional information," none is explicitly provided in the reviews. However, the park's key promotional aspects, based on the positive feedback, would likely center on its convenient location near St. Augustine's attractions and the friendly service provided by the staff. For those seeking a longer-term stay, the established long-term resident community might be presented as a benefit, fostering a sense of belonging. Conversely, the negative review suggests that the park might need to address concerns related to cleanliness, site maintenance, and the overall aesthetic to better align with the expectations of short-term resort guests.
For local users considering "RV parks near me" in St. Augustine, Sun Outdoors St. Augustine presents a locationally advantageous option. However, the contrasting reviews highlight the importance of conducting further research and potentially contacting the park directly to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current conditions, amenities, and suitability for your specific travel style and expectations. It would be prudent to inquire about recent improvements or changes in management that might address the concerns raised in the negative review. Ultimately, your decision should be based on a thorough assessment of your priorities and the most up-to-date information available from the park.

Sun Outdoors St. Augustine Reviews
This is a very nice resort to visit for a short time or the long-term.The staff are all very friendly and helpful.I would, however, recommend that you do not stay on lot #s 25 & 28 because of their proximity to the entrance, which is very busy.It is close enough to all local attractions, downtown, beach, etc…
Mar 12, 2025 · HopsScotch USAWhen I booked this Sun Outdoors park, I mistakenly thought it would be similar to other Sun parks we have visited (we’ve visited many). Boy, was I wrong! For lack of a better term, this place is what I would call a “trashy trailer park.” 85% of the sites are occupied with long-term residents. “Stuff” is everywhere. That includes trash, overflowing trash, junk sitting around, multiple vehicles per site, and numerous sketchy-looking residents to the point we felt unsafe past the first “premium” area. The sites are arranged in a haphazard manner that will drive a logical-thinking person insane. It’s almost as if they “crammed” sites in between original sites. Leaves from last fall are still everywhere, along with trash left by previous campers mixed within the leaves. The first two dozen or so sites look decent, but they are scattered in all different directions. (The deeper into the park you go, the worse it becomes.) The internal roads are tight, and I would not consider the park remotely big-rig friendly. Not only does the park itself have a great deal of traffic, but the side road leading into the park is shared with an apartment complex that only exacerbates the problem. I don’t mind paying $130-something per night for a resort, but I expect (a) daily trash pickup, (b) sites blown off and cleaned up prior to arrival, (c) adequate pool facilities for the size of the resort, (d) other typical Sun amenities. This Sun park features none of the above, other than the price tag, including a $15 per night resort fee. Honestly, Sun should consider divesting this park and building a new resort-style park somewhere else near Saint Augustine. This one just doesn’t live up to Sun’s standards.
Mar 29, 2025 · Big Rig RVer ReviewsThis is my 2nd experience with Sun Outdoors and again was impressed. Check in was smooth. We got a buddy spot. We were close to one of the Comfort Stations and smaller dog park.Bathroom/shower rooms were clean, always had toilet paper and paper towels. This location was very quiet, easy to maneuver thru the streets.Spots were pavers- so we didn't even need to take out our camping mat. They supply a picnic table with your spot. There were multiple Comfort Stations and dog parks. The Comfort Stations toilet/shower rooms are code locked from the outside. The shower had great pressure and water stayed warm/hot. There is also a fitness center and laundry facility there- both were super clean. There is a Dollar General right at the entrance.
Oct 20, 2024 · Andrea JayeCampground seems well maintained. Spots are very close together as I listen to the neighbors dog barking all night. When you arrive just DON’T EXPECT TO BE IN THE SPOT YOU PICKED WHEN BOOKING. Went camping for a birthday weekend, booked sites next to each other with friends. When arrived one of us was in the site we booked and the other was across the campground. If we would have known we would have went else where. Probably won’t be back.**** In response to the owner ****That’s funny, because when booking I never seen where I could lock in my site. Either did my friends. Heck, I even had one of your employees tell me, you used to have that option BUT TOOK IT AWAY. My friends had a different employee tell her the same thing. 🤔 Maybe time for a staff meeting so you all can get on the same page.**** Second Response to owner ***Dear owner, please know I did call 5 days before check in, I talk to one of your staff members very briefly because she rushed me off the phone so fast. I did tell her we was camping with friends and she only would check our site, then rushed to hang up phone.
Dec 09, 2024 · Tracy BLove this place, especially the back area where most of the short term campers are placed. We are in site 133. This side is away from the busy road and very quiet. They have two dog parks, one small and another very large. It’s easy to use the dog parks without any other dog entering. My dogs loved to dig and play on the agility equipment. The pool is awesome and the grounds are maintained very well. It’s in a great location too.
