The River Lodge RV Park Introduce
Welcome to The River Lodge RV Park, situated at 24620 Tehama Vina Rd in Los Molinos, California. Located within the "RV parks near me" category, The River Lodge RV Park has undergone a change in ownership in November 2023, leading to some significant shifts in its environment and policies. This introduction aims to provide local users with a detailed and objective overview of the park based on recent customer experiences shared online.
According to a long-term resident who lived at The River Lodge RV Park from 2019 until July 2024, the park was a cherished place until the recent change in ownership. This former resident expressed concerns regarding the new owner's approach to the feral cat community that had been present in the park. The review indicates a desire by the new owner to have the cats removed, which led to the eviction of the reviewer, who had been actively involved in neutering, vaccinating, and sheltering the cats for nearly five years. The reviewer stated that despite consistently paying rent and utilities and having no prior complaints, they were asked to leave, feeling unwelcome and desperate to find a new home for the cats within a 60-day timeframe.
This detailed account raises important considerations for potential long-term residents or those traveling with or concerned about animals. The reviewer's experience suggests a significant shift in the park's attitude towards feral animals under the new management. It's important for prospective visitors or residents with pets to inquire about the current pet policies and any specific regulations regarding animals within the park.
Furthermore, the same reviewer mentioned a noticeable increase in the presence of large dog breeds within the park and expressed concern about the enforcement of leash laws. According to the review, there was an incident in the summer of 2024 involving a dog mauling. This information highlights a potential safety concern for visitors and residents, particularly those with children or smaller pets. It would be prudent for potential visitors to inquire about the park's current policies regarding pets, including leash requirements and breed restrictions, to ensure a safe and comfortable stay.
Another review briefly mentions that the "Prior Owners: no good and left this place in shambles." This suggests that the park may have faced challenges under previous management. However, this review also offers a glimmer of hope, stating, "New Owners: Luckily there are new owners and they are just getting the lay of the land, let's hope they make some good moves that help those that stay there, and the community." This indicates that while there have been past issues, there is optimism from at least one reviewer that the new ownership has the potential to bring positive changes to The River Lodge RV Park.
Given the contrasting viewpoints and the significant concerns raised by the former long-term resident, it is crucial for potential visitors and residents to conduct their own due diligence. Contacting The River Lodge RV Park directly at (530) 727-8034 or +1 530-727-8034 is highly recommended to obtain the most current information regarding park policies, pet regulations, safety measures, and overall environment under the new ownership.
The address, 24620 Tehama Vina Rd, Los Molinos, CA 96055, USA, places The River Lodge RV Park in a location that may offer access to the natural surroundings of Tehama County, potentially including proximity to the Sacramento River, although this is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. The appeal of an RV park can often lie in its natural setting and access to outdoor activities, so inquiring about the park's location relative to local attractions and amenities would be beneficial for those considering a stay.
In summary, The River Lodge RV Park is currently under new ownership as of November 2023, which has brought about changes in its environment and policies. While there is some hope for positive developments under the new management, a recent long-term resident has raised significant concerns regarding the treatment of a feral cat community, pet policies (specifically leash enforcement and the presence of large dog breeds), and the circumstances surrounding their eviction. Potential visitors and residents should be aware of these recent experiences and are strongly encouraged to contact the park directly to gather the most up-to-date information and assess whether The River Lodge RV Park meets their individual needs and expectations.
As an objective introduction based on the available online reviews, it is important to highlight both the potential for positive change under new ownership and the serious concerns raised by a former long-term resident. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should consider these factors when evaluating The River Lodge RV Park and should prioritize direct communication with the park management to obtain clarification and current details regarding their stay or residency.

The River Lodge RV Park Reviews
Loved this place in 2019 and lived there till this July 2024. The new owner (Nov 2023) wanted the feral cat community gone, I didn't know what that meant, so I told her it was illegal to harm poison or maim them. She said I was bullying her by implying the rumors of her telling people to trap them and put them somewhere else were true. The county also says you can not just abandon them somewhere new. Since I had spent nearly 5 years nuetering vaccinating and taking the kittens to shelter, I was surprised she wanted me gone as well. I always paid my rent and my utilities but she wanted me gone. I had never been written up for anything and was suddenly facing eviction. She didn't care about me or my family she just wanted me and the cats gone. It's her property, but I felt afraid every day for those cats. Now there is every breed of large dog there and very few people keep them leashed. Someone got mauled by a pitbull summer of 2024. I wish she had just talked to me about leaving, I needed time to find a place to take the cats. But I had 60 days and I couldn't find a place...was going to be homeless and I felt entirely unwelcome. So that's my review. I loved that place, helped keep the cat community healthy, helped reduce the cat population and I had a family there, friends and plans for the summer, until I was run off desparate to save the cats I had grown to love. For those who think i shouldnt have fed the sick starving river cats, I guess that just makes me an asshole.

Dec 28, 2024 · Carl MitchellI live across the river from this place. The upkeep of the huge area and campsites no longer exists. tjey rent.out the cottages and main rooms now but it looks run down and not so welcoming at all.
Mar 24, 2018 · Tamz MusserWe stayed here in late March 2016. While the location was quite peaceful and beautiful, it was nothing like the pictures at the website. There were cabins that I'm sure were very nice at one time but are now quite dilapidated, and the restrooms and laundry were completely unusable; they appeared not to have been used for years. But the strangest part of our visit was there was no management there when we arrived. We didn't arrive late, we hadn't received any communication from the management, there was no note on the door, and there was no phone number to call. We waited out front for someone to greet us, as instructed by the sign in the driveway, and finally, two older gentlemen who appeared to live by the train trestle came over and told us the management had gone to visit family, they didn't know when/if they'd be back, and we should just drive over to the RV area and find ourselves a spot anywhere, which we did. We never saw them again. It was rather disconcerting.Again I want to say that the location on the river was quite nice. There were two other couples parked there, and we all had a pleasant time. When it came time to leave, we half expected an email, phone call, or maybe even someone representing the management would be there, but there was no one and no communication. Perhaps it is a common practice for RV parks to allow their visitors to have the run of the area, but since we had never experienced that situation, we found it strange and a little uncomfortable.
May 07, 2017 · Jane SpragueSo....we travel a lot in our travel trailer and have visited many campgrounds. This place has one thing going for it...location...if you want to be away from all things civilized. It sits right in the river although there is no easy access to the water. We have visited three times in three years. Every time there's a new owner. Last year we were the only people at the site and no one ever came around to collect our money. The office never opened. The sites are starting to grow grass, as opposed to weeds and dirt and it looks like some maintenance is being performed. If this park was manned and maintained it could be great.
