Looking for "rv parks near me" in Kentucky that offers a convenient base for exploring local attractions? Three Springs Campground and RV Park, located at 595 Campground Rd, Sadieville, KY 40370, USA, might be an option to consider. Situated in a woodsy setting and under new ownership that is reportedly making improvements, this park has received mixed reviews from recent visitors. Let's take a closer look at what you can expect.
For inquiries or reservations, you can contact them at (859) 823-0258 or their mobile number, +1 859-823-0258.
Environment and Location: Quiet and Woodsy with Access to Attractions
One reviewer described Three Springs Campground and RV Park as "set back and nestled in a quiet woodsy atmosphere." This suggests a peaceful and natural environment, potentially offering a respite from more urban settings. The location also appears to be convenient for those wishing to visit regional attractions, as the reviewer mentioned using the park as a base to see the "Kentucky Horse Park, The Ark Encounter," and even "some horse racing." This indicates that the park is within reasonable driving distance of these points of interest, making it appealing for tourists and locals alike looking to explore the area.
However, another reviewer's experience contrasted with this positive description, particularly concerning the park's current condition compared to its potential. They mentioned that the area is "pretty" and has "a lot of potential," implying that while the natural setting might be appealing, the developed aspects of the park might not fully live up to it.
Services and Management: Ongoing Improvements but Inconsistent Experiences
One positive aspect highlighted is that the "new owner is doing many improvements and repairs." This suggests that efforts are underway to enhance the park, which could be a good sign for future visitors. The same reviewer reported being "quite comfortable and very happy with the site AND the staff!" indicating a positive personal experience with the service and accommodations they received.
On the other hand, the second reviewer had a significantly different experience. They stated that "there was no one in the office when we checked in," which could be inconvenient for new arrivals needing assistance or information. They also reported an issue with their original site's electricity not working and a delay in getting it resolved, noting that "no one answered when we called to address the problem," and it took "a few hrs later" for someone to show up. This suggests potential issues with immediate responsiveness and maintenance.
These contrasting accounts indicate that while the management might be making efforts to improve the park, the execution and immediate service can be inconsistent.
Features and Amenities: Playground Concerns and Site Quality Variation
The feedback regarding the park's features is also mixed. The first reviewer who enjoyed their stay did not specifically comment on the amenities, focusing more on the overall comfort and staff. However, the second reviewer was critical of the playground, stating it was "over grown" and not well-maintained, to the point where they "wouldn’t even call it a playground." They described broken swings on the ground and a slide attached to a "broken wood set," raising concerns about safety and usability for families with children.
The issue with the electric at the original site of the second reviewer also suggests a potential variability in the quality and functionality of the RV sites. The fact that they had to change sites to get working electricity indicates that not all sites might be equally well-maintained.
The first reviewer's satisfaction with their "site" implies that some sites are indeed well-maintained and comfortable. This again points to a potential inconsistency across the park.
Potential Drawbacks: Playground Condition and Service Responsiveness
Based on the second review, potential drawbacks for those considering Three Springs Campground and RV Park include:
- Poorly Maintained Playground: Likely unsuitable and potentially unsafe for children.
- Unattended Office at Check-in: Can lead to inconvenience upon arrival.
- Slow Response to Maintenance Issues: As evidenced by the delay in addressing the electrical problem.
- Potential Variability in Site Quality: Not all sites may be in optimal working condition.
- Discrepancy with Online Pictures: The park might not currently look like the images found online.
These are important points to consider, especially for families with children or those who value prompt service and well-maintained facilities.
Promotional Aspects (Based on Reviews):
Despite the criticisms, there are some potentially positive aspects highlighted:
- Quiet Woodsy Atmosphere: Appealing to those seeking a peaceful natural setting.
- Convenient Location for Attractions: Good for tourists visiting the Kentucky Horse Park, Ark Encounter, etc.
- Ongoing Improvements by New Owner: Suggests the park might be getting better over time.
- Positive Experience with Some Sites and Staff: Indicates that a comfortable stay is possible.
However, it's crucial to weigh these against the reported negative experiences.
In Conclusion: A Campground with Potential Undergoing Transition
For local users searching for "rv parks near me" in the Sadieville, KY area, Three Springs Campground and RV Park offers a location with a quiet, woodsy ambiance and convenient access to popular attractions. The fact that the new owner is reportedly making improvements is a positive sign for the future. However, current reviews indicate that the park may have inconsistencies in site quality and maintenance, particularly concerning the playground, and that service responsiveness might sometimes be lacking.
If you are considering a stay here, it would be wise to inquire about the specific site you will be assigned and the current condition of the amenities, especially if you have children who might use the playground. While some visitors have had positive experiences with the sites and staff, others have encountered issues with facilities and service. Contacting the park directly at (859) 823-0258 or +1 859-823-0258 to get the most up-to-date information and to discuss your specific needs would be a prudent step before making a reservation.

Three Springs Campground and RV Park Reviews
We spent a few days here to see the sites…Kentucky Horse Park, The Ark Encounter and we also were able to take in some horse racing. This park is set back and nestled in a quiet woodsy atmosphere. The new owner is doing many improvements and repairs. We were quite comfortable and very happy with the site AND the staff!
Apr 25, 2025 · Connie HennAbsolutely nothing like the pictures on google. There was no one in the office when we checked in. The playground was over grown, I wouldn’t even call it a playground, the swings were broke and on the ground there was a slide attached to broken wood set. Our electric didn’t work at our original site so we had to change sites, no one answered when we called to address the problem, a few hrs later someone showed up. It is a pretty area and there is a lot of potential but clearly the owners do not care. If you’re passing thru and don’t have any kids I guess it maybe ok. But I don’t recommend otherwise.
Apr 28, 2025 · Lea CastleWe enjoyed our rustic cabin off season camping experience. Unfortunately it rained multiple times throughout our visit and our walkway from the cabin to the bathhouse got muddy pretty quickly. Definitely would recommend adding some gravel so it doesn’t get as muddy. Bathhouse was clean and appeared recently updated. Easy access to 75 and a short distance to gas stations or Dollar General. The heating element in the cabin worked well and kept us cozy. Having the single use coffee pot, microwave and dishes available to use was very handy. Location to tourist attractions is reasonable with almost an hour north or south to popular cities. If you needed to contact the owner provided their business number for easy access as well as onsite camp host. Overall, we had a great time
Dec 29, 2024 · Natalie MartinThis is a beautiful, quiet campground! There is a little stream that runs through the camp sites, and many picturesque hiking trails. All the sites are surrounded by trees in this peaceful hide away! The owners are very helpful, kind, and take great care of their property. Lord willing, we will definitely be visiting again!
Feb 26, 2025 · Jessica MitchellSept 2024. You may be bothered when you are driving up to the facility where you may think you're coming through a bad neighborhood. We stayed here two nights and was satisfied with the campground. We met some good people on both sides and have absolutely no complaints even though the swimming pool was not appealing at all. After our first night they covered up the pool with a tarp which greatly helped the view. We were only there to go visit the Ark so we came in late the first night, left early, and our package was waiting for us and the location of where to go was no problem getting in or out.I would probably shop around and see if there's any other nicer facilities if I were to go back to The Ark Encounter.
