Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park is situated in Bridgeville, a town in Sussex County, Delaware, known for its quiet, small-town feel. The area is generally considered safe and quaint, with neighbors often knowing and looking out for one another. This fosters a sense of community among residents, where people are friendly but typically do not get overly involved in each other's personal business. Bridgeville itself offers a welcoming atmosphere, and residents often enjoy local events such as the annual Apple Scrapple Festival, which can bring a vibrant energy to the town.
The park has undergone various renovations and improvements over the years, aiming to provide a safe and comfortable living environment. While the overall feel of the community is peaceful, it is important to note that the immediate neighborhood within the park has some specific characteristics. Some residents maintain vegetable gardens, which, while reflecting personal interests, can sometimes lead to varying aesthetics across lots. There have been observations regarding certain lots needing tidying to align with community standards.
Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park provides plots for manufactured homes, with the availability of homes for sale within the park. When considering a home at Walkers Mill, potential residents should be aware that some homes utilize particle board for flooring, which, according to some feedback, can become soft and weak when exposed to moisture. However, the park management and maintenance are generally regarded as good, indicating responsiveness to residents' needs within their scope.
For those seeking to move a mobile home into the park or purchase an existing one, it's worth noting that rent in the community may include services such as trash, recycling, bulk item removal, and yard waste services, which can contribute to a hassle-free living experience. There may also be discount programs available to help keep living costs affordable. Financing options with low down payments, such as 5% down, have been noted for homes within the park. Utilities for homes typically include electric cooling, forced air heating fueled by leased propane, electric hot water, public water source, and private septic tanks. Pets are generally allowed, but there might be restrictions on the number and breed of pets.
While Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park offers a quiet and generally safe environment, it's important for prospective residents, particularly families with children, to be aware of the on-site amenities. Based on current information, the community does not feature parks for children within the neighborhood, despite a significant number of children using school bus services. Furthermore, certain recreational facilities such as swimming pools, basketball courts, trampolines, or swingsets are reportedly not permitted within the park. This lack of dedicated recreational spaces for children means that children often play unsupervised in the streets. For families prioritizing on-site recreational amenities, this is a significant factor to consider. Some long-term residents have even suggested that the community might be more suited as a senior living place due to the current lack of child-focused amenities and the quiet nature of the park.
For individuals or families looking for an affordable and established mobile home community in a quiet, small-town setting, Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park in Bridgeville, DE, could be a suitable option. The community's proximity to larger towns like Seaford and Salisbury means that shopping areas and medical facilities are conveniently close. The park, with its decades of history, offers a sense of stability and a community where residents have often lived for many years.
To learn more about available homes for sale within Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park, or to inquire about lot availability, prospective residents are encouraged to contact the park directly using the provided phone numbers. Walkers Mill Mobile Home Park Reviews
The homes are nice, though they use particle boards for the flooring and get soft and weak when they get wet. There aren't any parks for children within the neighborhood, despite having 30+ kids on the school buses. Swimming pools aren't allowed in here. Neither are basketball courts, trampolines or swingsets.
Mar 12, 2025 · Aaron KesterNot a place to live if you have children. Theres nothing for them to do. They run and play unsupervised in the streets. Management and maintenance is good. Some people have vegetable gardens which make their lots and the neighboring yards look bad. Need to clean those yards up especially the one on first street , its terrible all that mess going on, on that lot. I dont think its allowed. But that person dont care what the rules are. They should turn this community into a senior living place. Been living here 20 years and have seen improvements but not enough for what we pay in rent now.
