Arch Rock Campground

Unnamed Road, Overton, NV 89040, USA

4.0
We reserved a site online two days prior and it was easy and convenient! The campground was nice and spread out and our site (27) backed into large rocks that gave some decent privacy. Considering it was the week of Christmas the campground was very quiet even though it was full, we barely heard anyone past 7pm and the vault toilets nearby were tidy. We would definitely stay here again! The stargazing at night was incredible as well. No cell service. The site included a tent pad, picnic table with shade, and a fire ring. - Christina Patten

Spectacular Desert Environment and Privacy: Arch Rock Campground is nestled within the iconic Valley of Fire State Park, renowned for its vibrant red rock formations and dramatic desert scenery. The environment here is characterized by striking geological features, hiking trails that wind through canyons and over sandstone outcrops, and breathtaking vistas. As one visitor described it, "I absolutely love Valley of Fire!!" The campground itself is noted to be "nice and spread out," offering a sense of space between campsites. Several reviewers specifically mentioned the privacy afforded by certain sites. For example, site 27 "backed into large rocks that gave some decent privacy," and campsite #7 was located in a "nice corner" with some seclusion. While some campsites might be more centrally located with closer proximity to others, the overall layout aims to provide a more dispersed camping experience. The clear desert nights also offer "incredible stargazing" due to the lack of light pollution.

Convenient Services and Site Features: Arch Rock Campground provides essential services to ensure a comfortable stay. Reservations can be made "online" and are described as "easy and convenient." Each campsite is equipped with a "tent pad" for easy setup, a "picnic table with shade" for comfortable outdoor dining, and a "fire ring" for campfires and grilling. Water is available at some sites, as mentioned for campsite #7 ("Had water as well"), although one reviewer noted that the water wasn't working at campsite #12 during their visit, highlighting that availability might vary. Vault toilets are located nearby and are reported to be "tidy." It's important to note that "no showers" are available directly at Arch Rock Campground. However, hot showers are accessible at Atlatl Campground, which is a short "5mins on cars" away within Valley of Fire State Park.

Considerations for Local Campers: For local users seeking "camping near me" at Arch Rock Campground, it's important to be aware of a few key considerations. Cell phone service is reported to be non-existent ("No cell service" and "No telephone reception at all (ATT)"), so be prepared to disconnect and enjoy the natural surroundings without digital communication. While some sites offer good privacy, others might be closer together, so if privacy is a priority, it might be worth inquiring about specific site recommendations when booking. The availability of water at individual campsites can vary, so it's advisable to bring an adequate supply or check with the campground upon arrival. The lack of showers directly at Arch Rock Campground means a short drive to Atlatl Campground is necessary for those wanting to shower.

This would likely include grocery stores for stocking up on food and supplies, gas stations, and possibly some local restaurants. For specific camping gear or outdoor equipment, it might be beneficial to purchase these items before arriving at the park or to check for any small stores or visitor centers within the Valley of Fire that might offer basic necessities. The "camping near me" platform might also list local businesses in Overton that cater to visitors of the state park, providing information on where to find specific items or services.

Potential Promotional Information: As a campground within a Nevada State Park, any promotional offers would likely be managed by the Nevada Division of State Parks. Local users interested in "camping near me" at Arch Rock Campground should check the official Nevada State Parks website for information on any potential discounts, annual passes that might include camping fees, or special events happening within Valley of Fire State Park that might be associated with camping. Booking in advance, especially during peak seasons or holidays, is generally recommended to secure a site.
