Based on customer feedback, the experience at Frandy Park Campground appears to be varied. One positive review highlights a delightful one-night tent stay, praising the friendly staff upon arrival, the captivating nature, the cleanliness of the environment, an abundance of firewood, the opportunity for bonfires, and the provision of a table and chairs near the riverbed. This suggests that for some visitors, particularly those seeking a basic and nature-focused camping experience, Frandy Park Campground can offer a memorable stay with essential amenities provided in a pleasant setting.
However, another review presents a contrasting perspective, detailing issues encountered during a stay. This account mentions high initial expectations based on online information, followed by concerns regarding the campground's operational approach. Specifically, it describes practices such as the use of wristbands, car inspections, and additional fees for amenities that might typically be included in a standard camping experience. The review notes a distinction between "premium sites" for fire pit usage and "riverfront spots" for fishing, suggesting a tiered system for accessing certain features.
The more critical review further describes a negative interaction with another camper and subsequent handling by the campground staff. The account details an alleged confrontation with an individual claiming ownership of an apparently vacant campsite, followed by an accusation of rule-breaking by staff while fishing near the river. The reviewer expresses dissatisfaction with the staff's response, claiming a lack of leniency despite the campsite appearing unoccupied. Additionally, the review alleges favoritism shown by a staff member towards the camper involved in the confrontation, including personalized signage and a potentially falsified occupancy plaque.
Features of Frandy Park Campground, as gleaned from the reviews, include riverside access, which is a significant draw for many campers interested in fishing and enjoying the water. The availability of firewood and the allowance of bonfires are also mentioned as positive aspects contributing to the camping experience. The provision of a table and chairs at campsites suggests a degree of convenience for outdoor dining and relaxation. However, the reported tiered access to amenities like fire pits and river access for fishing could be considered a feature that may influence a camper's choice based on their preferences and budget.
Promotional information for Frandy Park Campground is not explicitly provided in the given data. Campgrounds often promote seasonal specials, discounts for longer stays, or packages that include access to certain amenities or activities. To obtain the most current promotional details, it would be best to contact Frandy Park Campground directly via phone or check their website if available. Considering the varied feedback, potential campers should weigh the positive aspects, such as the natural riverside setting and basic camping provisions, against the reported concerns regarding operational policies and customer service experiences. The mention of additional fees for certain amenities and the alleged inconsistent handling of customer issues are points that individuals might want to clarify with the campground management before making a reservation. It is always advisable to seek the most up-to-date information directly from the campground to ensure it meets your expectations for a "Camping Near Me" experience in the Kernville area.

Frandy Park Campground Reviews
We had a delightful and enjoyable experience during our one-night stay in our tent. The friendly staff's behavior upon arrival, the captivating nature, the cleanliness of the environment, the abundance of firewood beyond imagination, the opportunity to make a bonfire, the provision of a table and chairs next to the riverbed, and... In summary, everything necessary for a memorable camping experience was present for me, my spouse, and our cat in this lovely environment. We highly recommend it to you.
Apr 07, 2024 · Ghazal TrsMy anticipation for this place was sky-high. Glowing reviews, stunning images, and a pristine online appearance set my expectations soaring. Arriving promptly at 8:00 pm, the initial moments seemed promising despite the three-hour drive. However, the cracks began to show as I settled in for the night.Issues surfaced with the campground's operation, treating it more like a luxury resort with wristbands, car inspections, and an array of fees for basic amenities. Want to use the fire pit? Upgrade to a "premium site." Looking to fish? Opt for a riverfront spot. The real ordeal began at dawn when I ventured to the river for some fishing. Passing through what appeared to be an empty campsite, I was accosted by an individual claiming ownership, hurling profanities and threats. Even mentioning their connection to a staff member, they demanded I leave.Ignoring the confrontation, I started fishing, only to be confronted by staff accusing me of rule-breaking. Despite showing the vacant spot with no sign of occupancy, I was scolded and shown no leniency.Returning from fishing, I observed the staff member, possibly named Joyce, granting special treatment to the aggressive camper, with personalized signage and a falsified plaque indicating occupancy. Photos later confirmed the favoritism, with site 1 vacant and site 2 monopolized by the favored camper. You can actually see in the pictures the regular plaques vs the forged one she put up.My experience at this supposed gem turned sour due to mismanagement, favoritism, and a disregard for paying customers.I left within 20 hours and just checked in at the local hotel. Shame on you Frandy Park.
May 12, 2024 · Steve KHave been going to Frandy for several years because of its location to Isabella Lake and it's family friendly environment. The staff are friendly and the spaces are large enough to accommodate most RVs. Yes it's in the middle of Kernville but that's a good thing if you're new to camping or just don't have all the gear to boondock. The only negatives are the dust, wind and early summer cottonwood flying around. They did try to cut down on some of the dust by putting down wood chips on the main roads around all the sites but for some reason they didn't put it down on the lower bowl sites (#26-31). We deal with it by bringing really large tarps and weighing stuff down with sand bags. Nothing you can do about the cotton except to find a place by the river and spend your day there or at the lake. If you don't want to tent there are the Wagons or local RV rentals company that will drop an RV on to your site.
Jun 30, 2024 · CM ItaloTent campground no firepits with a grill to cook . Not enough showers , not enough toilets, portable toilets were dirty, not clean regularly. Very dusty, it could be improve. and better maintained
Sep 05, 2024 · Maximiliano SanfelippoLOVED IT!! We were in space 26. Our camping spot was about 20 ft from the river. Yes there is a city park on the other side of the river, but it is still nice. There's little man made shallow pools for kids to swim in on the side of the river. The river itself in this part of the river has a fast current for rafting, just bring swimming shoes because the rocks are sharp and slippery. Only one building of bathrooms in the entrance of the park and they are kept clean. They have porter potties throughout the campground. Campground office sells firewood and ice. The attendants of the campground are friendly and courteous. There's all sorts of businesses outside of the campground, even a grocery store. Overall I think the campground is located in a great spot.
