Green Valley Campground Introduce
Are you a local user in Wisconsin searching for a "camping near me" experience, specifically for tent camping near Baraboo? Green Valley Campground, located at S5927 Oak Ct, Baraboo, WI 53913, USA, presents itself as an option for those seeking a basic outdoor stay. However, based on recent customer reviews, it's crucial for potential visitors to be aware of both its positive aspects and significant drawbacks to make an informed decision. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Green Valley Campground based on the available feedback.
The environment of Green Valley Campground appears to be somewhat impacted by its proximity to a highway. One reviewer noted that there was highway noise, although it reportedly lessened after dark. This suggests that while the campground might offer a natural setting for pitching a tent and having a campfire, the ambient sounds of nearby traffic could be a factor to consider, particularly during the day and early evening. On a more positive note, the campground seems to accommodate tent campers and is pet-friendly, as one reviewer mentioned setting up their tent and having their dog with them. The ability to have a campfire is also highlighted as a pleasant aspect of the stay. However, another reviewer described the spaces as being "right on top of each other," suggesting a lack of spaciousness and privacy between campsites. This close proximity to other campers, combined with the highway noise, could detract from the overall sense of natural immersion that many seek in a camping experience.
The services and amenities at Green Valley Campground seem to be quite basic, based on the negative feedback from one reviewer. This camper expressed significant dissatisfaction, stating that there was no running water in the bathrooms and no showers were apparent. Furthermore, they mentioned that the tent site they booked did not include electricity. If this information is accurate, it indicates a very rudimentary level of facilities compared to many paid campgrounds. The lack of running water in bathrooms and the absence of showers are significant drawbacks for hygiene and comfort, especially for longer stays. The fact that a tent site without electricity was priced at $30 was a major point of contention for this reviewer, who felt it was a considerable overcharge given the limited amenities. In contrast, the other reviewer did not comment on the availability or quality of amenities, focusing more on the noise and the respectful behavior of other campers at night. This discrepancy in feedback regarding amenities could suggest inconsistencies or that the experiences varied based on the specific campsite or the time of visit. However, the strong negative comments regarding the lack of basic facilities should be taken seriously by potential visitors.
The features of Green Valley Campground, as gleaned from the reviews, are somewhat limited and contrasting. The positive aspects include its suitability for tent camping, its pet-friendly policy allowing dogs, and the possibility of having campfires. The fact that other campers were reportedly respectful and quiet after 10 pm is also a potential benefit for those seeking a peaceful night's sleep, at least during the later hours. However, the significant negative features include the close proximity of campsites to each other, the presence of highway noise, and the reported lack of essential amenities such as running water in the bathrooms and showers. The absence of electricity at some tent sites, coupled with the $30 price point mentioned by one reviewer, raises concerns about the value proposition of this campground compared to other options, including state campgrounds that often offer more amenities at a lower cost. The misleading nature of the website pictures and descriptions, as alleged by one reviewer, is also a serious concern for potential visitors who rely on this information to make booking decisions.
Based on the provided information, there are no indications of any promotional offers for Green Valley Campground. The strong negative review regarding pricing and the lack of amenities suggests that potential campers might want to carefully consider the cost versus the services provided. It would be prudent for local users interested in this campground to inquire directly about the current pricing for tent sites and RV sites (if available), as well as a comprehensive list of the amenities offered, to avoid any surprises upon arrival. Given the conflicting feedback, it might also be beneficial to ask about the proximity of campsites to the highway and the layout of the campground to understand the potential for noise and privacy issues.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Green Valley Campground presents a mixed picture. While it offers a location near Baraboo for tent camping and allows pets, the reported drawbacks of highway noise, closely spaced campsites, and potentially very basic or non-existent amenities like running water and showers are significant considerations. The value for money, particularly the $30 fee for a non-electric tent site mentioned in one review, seems questionable in light of these limitations. Potential campers might want to compare Green Valley Campground with other campgrounds in the Baraboo area, including state parks, which often provide more amenities at a lower cost, as suggested by the dissatisfied reviewer.
In conclusion, Green Valley Campground offers a location for tent camping near Baraboo, Wisconsin, and is pet-friendly, with the possibility of campfires. However, potential local users searching for "camping near me" should be aware of the reported issues, including proximity to highway noise, closely spaced campsites, and potentially a lack of basic amenities such as running water and showers. The pricing, particularly for tent sites with no electricity, has been a point of strong criticism. It is highly recommended that interested individuals contact Green Valley Campground directly at (608) 355-0090 or +1 608-355-0090 to inquire about the current facilities, pricing, campsite layout, and noise levels before making a booking. Given the contrasting reviews, firsthand information from the campground management is essential to determine if Green Valley Campground meets your specific needs and expectations for a camping experience.

Green Valley Campground Reviews
Very nice campground, kinda close to the highway noise, but after dark it got quieter !! We just set up our tent and had the dog with us, had a nice campfire too. Was fairly busy, other campers were very respectful to not be loud after 10pm
Sep 06, 2024 · Nikki ClarkThis place is why I hate paid camp grounds! The pictures on website and descriptions are extremely misleading! The spaces are right on top of each other and right next to the highway! Wish I never booked a site because I drove by a really nice rest stop that would have been better than this place. There is no running water in the bathrooms, no showers that I saw...and these people want 30 dollars for a tent site with no electric! State campgrounds are usually 10 - 12 dollars and at least that goes towards the up keep of the land...30 bucks for this place is a total rip off and it just goes to the land owner's pocket! Absolute ripoff! I will never be back!
Aug 17, 2024 · N NesterGood enough, very nice people here though, only con is the road nearby, but that may just be my preference. The don’t have showers, but the lake has some. Toilets are prone to splashing you in your places. Good for roughing it a little and hover poopin. Great people though. In good hands.
Jul 01, 2024 · Noah RoachThis place is magical. If you're a climber/hiker this is where you want to be. The owners are some of the best people I've ever met. They remember your bame or at least your face if youve ever been there, and they love to get to know their campers. My friends and I have been camping here for 3 years and it's my home away from home. The patrons are as great as the hosts. It's quiet, people are friendly and respectful, everyone is welcome, and it's the best deal on camping I've ever seen.
Jul 26, 2023 · Keith W.The owners of this property are extremely kind and helpful people. A quiet and peaceful campground to stay for a few nights (or more if you have an RV). Plenty of room for tents. Plenty of wood for purchase for cheap. A little close to the highway but worth it for how comfortable you feel there. Very rare for a privately owned campground. There is running drinking water on spigot and bathrooms (not running water). This is the only place I camp at while I’m Baraboo.
