Johnson's Campground and RV Park Reviews
Spring time is the best time to visit, The campground had plenty of spaces available, a little more crowded on the upper level camp area. I would classify this as rustic counry. The cabins are so adorable, I would give this adorable campground five stars but they do need several updates. The office staff was so amazing and fun to visit with.. If you want to go to the restaurant and want gluten-free, don't bother, but it is decorated so adorable. The views are ten star, hands down.
Jun 10, 2023 · D. FrancisI brought my dad to Glacier for the first time in his life and we stayed at the Campground for 3 nights. Honestly I could not have had a better time here. The campground is a 5 minute drive from the entrance of Glacier. The bars and restaurants in town (there are only a few) are a 5 minute walk from the campground as well. If you want to walk to the St. Mary's Glacier Visitor Center it's only a 20 minute walk. Our neighbors were nice and quiet and the campsite was great. The bathrooms and showers were great to use as well, which made the load out super easy. The thing that made this entire experience for me was the fact that I was able to see and shoot the northern lights from the areas in the campground! I was also able to see and shoot the milky way as well. I have camped all over the country and never had anything like this! Could not recommend this campground enough, I will definitely be back!
Sep 03, 2022 · Jeremy JanusCampground is nice, clean, and in some sites have a beautiful view. Internet is non-existent, though. We stayed the first night in a electic/water only site, which had very tight quarters, no trees, and depending on what side of the pole you were on it could be hard to plug in. Second night we had full-hook up, which had nice trees and was a nice space with a great view.
Jul 20, 2019 · Amy PaytonWe stayed here 4 nights in July 2022. I have read some reviews prior to reserving here. Let me address some things other reviewers have said about this campground. 1st. I've stayed in many private RV campgrounds. It is not a surprise to me to know that the sites are closed together. I have no problem with that. After all, it's a private park. 2nd the sites aren't leveled. I alway carry leveling blocks in case the jacks extend to the fullest. I learned that when I bought my rv 4years ago. So it wasn't an issue for me that the 2 sites I stayed at weren't leveled. 3rd as far as the sites not being maintained, I don't know what their definition of maintained mean. To my opinion they are maintained well. Now onto my review. The site is on a hill which means 2 things. 1. You get an awesome view no matter what direction you face. 2. It gets windy so don't leave you awning out or your tent unattended. Open your windows and let the fresh cold air come in the rv. If you need to walk to the office, they have 2 trails that take you there. They have a laundromat which used coins, and there is a coin machine on site, a café, and showers. To use the showers, the staff gives you a token per person per day. The showers last 6 minutes which in my opinion it's enough time. It's good to take a hot shower in a space larger than the RV shower, my opinion. The sites are clean, and the staff is very friendly. Their quite hours are from 10pm - 7am. They have cabin, and about 80 tent sites. They do have Wi-Fi, but uphill doesn't work. It works on the sites closest to the office.FOR THOSE WHO HAVE RVs LARGER THAN 21FT, AND WANT TO VISIT THE ST. MARY ENTANCE AT GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, THIS MESSAGE IS FOR YOU. The St. Mary entrance to the Glacier National Park has a 21 ft max length. You will be turned around. They lady in the office told me they do accommodate those people that have a motorhome, travel trailer or 5th wheel. They can leave their RV at the campground for a daily fee while you go visit the park. That is a nice thing they do.If you can't get a reservation inside Glacier National Park, reserve it here. It is almost infront of the St Mary entrance road amd it's just as good. We will for sure come back again and stay here.
Jul 23, 2022 · Osman CruzWe stayed one night in the campground and since we planned to wake up extremely early to get into GNP and planned to do some major hiking we decided to splurge and get a cabin for 2 nights. The campground is great and has a bathroom and showers that take tokens that allow the shower to last for about 7 minutes. If you go during a busy time be aware that when the toilet flushes the shower will change from extremely hot to extremely cold. The cabins are comfy and accomodate well. There are different cabin types though. We opted for the fully furnished. The restaurant is incredible. We had bison soup and dessert. The bison was hunted by the server that works there. You HAVE to walk around and look at everything decorating the restaurant. Everything is original which is ehy they have signs of do not touch.
