Lake Auburn Campground Introduce
For local residents in the Victoria, Minnesota area seeking a lakeside "camping near me" experience, Lake Auburn Campground, located at 7290 Victoria Dr, Victoria, MN 55386, USA, offers a compelling option. Based on recent customer reviews, this campground is noted for its excellent cleanliness and quiet atmosphere, making it a potentially ideal destination for families and individuals looking for a peaceful retreat. The presence of regular patrols by park employees, local police, and Sheriff's Deputies suggests a focus on safety and security, further enhancing the appeal for a comfortable stay. The highlight of Lake Auburn Campground appears to be its access to the great Lake Auburn, which provides ample opportunities for various water-based activities, making it a strong contender for those seeking a camping experience centered around a lake.
The environment of Lake Auburn Campground is characterized by its proximity to the beautiful Lake Auburn. This lakeside setting offers campers the advantage of easy access to the water for recreational activities and scenic enjoyment. The positive review highlights the lake as being "great for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing," indicating a diverse range of opportunities for water enthusiasts. Beyond the lake itself, the campground is described as "nice and clean and quiet," suggesting a well-maintained and peaceful environment conducive to relaxation. The observance of quiet hours by fellow campers contributes to the tranquil atmosphere. While specific details about the surrounding landscape, such as the presence of trees or the type of terrain, are not extensively mentioned, the emphasis on cleanliness and quietness, coupled with lake access, paints a picture of a pleasant and well-kept natural environment perfect for a lakeside camping getaway.
While the reviews provide positive feedback on the overall cleanliness and quietness of Lake Auburn Campground, they also offer some specific insights into the services and facilities available, as well as areas for potential improvement. The mention of "vault toilets" indicates the presence of non-flush restroom facilities. One reviewer noted that these could benefit from daily cleaning and pointed out an issue with a broken vent in one, leading to a strong odor. Additionally, the campground appears to have portable toilets ("Porta Potties"), and a reviewer mentioned that these ran out of toilet paper on a Saturday night, highlighting a potential issue with the frequency of servicing during busy periods. On a more positive note, the regular presence of park employees, local police, and Sheriff's Deputies suggests a commitment to the safety and security of campers. The availability of lake access directly from the campground is a significant service, catering to those interested in fishing, swimming, and boating activities. While specific details about campsite amenities (like fire rings or picnic tables) or other potential services (like water hookups or a dump station) are not provided, the information available gives a glimpse into the essential facilities present.
The primary feature of Lake Auburn Campground is undoubtedly its direct access to the "great" Lake Auburn, which supports a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. This makes it a standout choice for campers who enjoy spending time on the water. Another key feature is the reported cleanliness and quiet atmosphere of the campground, contributing to a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The regular patrols by park employees and law enforcement personnel provide an added sense of security for campers. However, the reviews also highlight areas that could be considered features needing improvement, such as the maintenance and servicing of the vault toilets and portable toilets. The broken vent issue in a vault toilet and the depletion of toilet paper in the portable toilets suggest potential shortcomings in the upkeep of these facilities. Despite these issues, the overall positive sentiment regarding the lake and the general cleanliness and quietness indicates that these are strong features that attract campers to Lake Auburn Campground. The combination of a desirable lakeside location and a generally well-maintained environment, with noted areas for service improvement, characterizes the features of this campground.

Lake Auburn Campground Reviews
Excellent campground! It was nice and clean and quiet. People were observant of the quiet hours. Park employees, local police and Sheriff's Deputies made regular trips through. We would definitely stay here again!
Aug 21, 2024 · Bryan JohnsonThe lake was great. Great for fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. The vault toilets could be cleaned daily to improve. One of the vents was broken on of them- the stench was very strong.Porta Potties ran out of toilet Saturday night- I’m glad we brought some otherwise we would have been in trouble.
Aug 19, 2024 · Katie Kes-PickThis place is great! We've been here twice. Once in a regular campsite and most recently at one of the "bike-in" sites. Both were well kept and clean. The amenities in terms of beach access, playground and hiking trails are plentiful. I loved the "bike-in sites". Easily accessable from the Three Rivers trail system with many signs leading the way, the sites had a fire ring, build in hammock poles, a bike rack, trash cans and a food locker. The bathrooms were only a few feet away as well. The bike sites are non-reservable so you just show up, pay the fee and you're all set.
Sep 13, 2023 · Danny WalterIt's a good place to go if you want simple camping. You can reserve a campground 1 year away and the one amazing site always goes booked for a year. They have bike trials so bring a bike. Sometimes you can rent one from them. You can rent a canoe too. Beach and playground. No electricity sites but they have a few that let you bring a generator. This isn't a place I'd recommend bringing the kids on 4th of July weekend. It does tend to get loud and obnoxious.
Jul 02, 2023 · Amanda KneelandThis campsite has won me back to the possibility of camping. The spots were well manicured, and the amenities were well kept. The workers were painting the enclosures while we were there. The beach was beautiful. The only problems we found were the bugs. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes and flies. Otherwise, it was a very peaceful place.
