Sunnyside Campground Introduce
For local users in search of a captivating "camping near me" experience, Sunnyside Campground, located on Aufderheide Dr, Blue River, OR 97413, USA, offers a unique and enchanting retreat into the heart of Oregon's natural beauty. Situated in close proximity to the scenic Aufderheide National Scenic Byway, this campground provides a tranquil and immersive outdoor experience. Reviews from fellow campers highlight its exceptional qualities, making it a noteworthy destination for those seeking a peaceful escape.
The environment surrounding Sunnyside Campground is frequently described as "beutiful," with a distinct "rainforest" feel. Towering trees create a lush canopy overhead, while ferns and other vibrant undergrowth contribute to a rich and immersive natural setting. This unique environment offers a cool and shaded camping experience, perfect for escaping the summer heat and feeling truly connected to the wilderness. The presence of a "river flowing right next to it" adds another dimension to the natural appeal, providing opportunities for a refreshing "dip" in the water and the soothing sounds of a flowing stream. Furthermore, the campground's location is a significant advantage for those looking to explore the local attractions, with a "hot spring" just a convenient "10 mins drive" away, offering a relaxing and therapeutic experience.
In terms of services and facilities, Sunnyside Campground offers essential amenities for a comfortable stay. One review mentions "only one restroom for 10 camp sites," which could potentially become busy with larger groups. However, the reviewer also notes the availability of "2 restroom in like 5 mins walk around the bridge junction," indicating that additional facilities are accessible nearby and are reported to be "clean." While specific details about other amenities such as water sources, fire pits, or picnic tables are not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, the presence of restrooms suggests that basic facilities are in place to support campers. The emphasis on the natural environment and nearby attractions suggests that the focus here is on providing a basecamp for outdoor exploration rather than extensive on-site amenities.
The features of Sunnyside Campground are particularly appealing to those seeking a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The "amazing star gazing" mentioned by one reviewer highlights the pristine night skies away from city lights, offering a fantastic opportunity to observe the cosmos. The campground's strategic location as a "perfect home base for everything I wanted to do in the area" suggests its convenience for exploring the surrounding natural attractions, likely including hiking trails, scenic drives along Aufderheide Drive, and of course, the nearby hot springs. The "rainforest" atmosphere with its tall trees and ferns provides a unique and immersive camping experience, setting it apart from more open or arid campgrounds. The easy access to the river for a swim offers a refreshing way to cool down and enjoy the natural surroundings. While the reviews suggest that the campground can get "quite busy" on weekends, especially compared to the "excellent camping especially during the week," this indicates its popularity and desirability as a camping destination.

Sunnyside Campground Reviews
Amazing star gazing, and close to the hot springs! Some excellent camping especially during the week. Can't speak for the weekends, but I would assume it can get quite busy. Perfect home base for everything I wanted to do in the area.
Dec 19, 2024 · Amy CarlsonThis is a beutiful camping ground. Feels like staying in a rainforest with tall trees and ferns around. There is river flowing right next to it for a dip and a hot spring in 10 mins drive. They have only one restroom for 10 camp sites which can get messy with bigger groups. But there are 2 restroom in like 5 mins walk around the bridge junction you will know once you get there. Resrooms are clean.

Jul 17, 2023 · Ricardo TepThis was once a family friendly camp ground. It isn't anymore it has been filled with people who dont respect others or the rules. 64C, there are apparently regulars who come and cuss, play loud music, until 2:30am when quiet time is 10pm. They don't care, and when asked to quiet down, they make rude comments about the person. Flashing lights and everything that keeps others awake. Kept repeating,"I can do what I want, I'm American" ...yea you are but the kind that makes me ashamed to be one too. No humanity or care for others.Camp hosts or people with the camp grounds stop showing up about 9pm. So everything can happen no one is held accountable. If your going to yell about hot button topics like (politics, etc), flash lights, play games with the radio loud then quite...at 2am.... maybe you should camp somewhere private and free that does not have rules to limit your loudness and inconsiderate nature towards others.
