According to recent customer reviews, Twisted Creek Campground appears to be a "pleasant surprise," especially considering it is a relatively new establishment, reportedly only two years old at the time of the review. This suggests that while the campground may still be undergoing development and upgrades, the foundational elements are already in place to provide a positive camping experience. One reviewer noted that it is a "work in progress," but emphasized that "what is completed is beautiful and laid out well," expressing confidence that "when Steve is done with his upgrades this place will be amazing."
One of the standout features of Twisted Creek Campground seems to be the spaciousness and ease of access of its campsites. Reviewers mention that "Sites were spacious and mostly pull-through," which is particularly convenient for RV travelers of all sizes. The availability of pull-through sites simplifies the setup and departure process, especially for those on shorter stays or longer journeys. Furthermore, one camper who stayed on site #16 noted that it was a "level, full hook-up site with 50 amp power," indicating that the campground offers essential amenities for RVs, including reliable electrical connections. The levelness of the sites is also highlighted by another reviewer who stated that they "pulled in and were perfectly level without doing anything," a significant convenience for ensuring a comfortable and stable camping setup.
The aesthetic details of the campground have also been positively received. One reviewer specifically praised the "unique" fire pits, describing them as "tall stones lined up on the gravel, really nice!" This attention to the visual appeal of even functional elements like fire pits suggests a thoughtful approach to the overall design of the campground. Additionally, the "gravel roads are smooth and the gravel is a nice small size," contributing to a well-maintained and easy-to-navigate environment within the campground.
For those looking for convenience during their stay, Twisted Creek Campground offers a "general Store" that is reported to be "well stocked." While the specific items available are not detailed, a well-stocked general store can provide campers with essential supplies, snacks, and perhaps even local goods, reducing the need to leave the campground for basic necessities.
A key aspect of the positive feedback for Twisted Creek Campground is the owner, Steve. He is described as someone who "walks the property, talks to his camper customers and provides top notch service." This hands-on approach and dedication to customer interaction can significantly enhance the camping experience, making guests feel welcome and well-cared for. The positive interactions with the owner contribute to the overall friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the campground.
The atmosphere within the campground is also praised, with one reviewer noting that "Our fellow campers were quiet, there is enough space between sites you have privacy, Nice mix of seasonal campers and weekend campers like us." This suggests a harmonious community environment where both long-term and short-term visitors can enjoy peace and quiet with adequate personal space. This balance is often appreciated by campers seeking a relaxing retreat.
Beyond the basic amenities and peaceful environment, Twisted Creek Campground offers additional features that cater to entertainment and family fun. There is "live music on Friday night," with one reviewer mentioning that "the band was great and we could hear nicely from our campsite." This provides an opportunity for campers to enjoy some evening entertainment without having to leave the campground. For families with children, there is a "really cute playground area for the kids," offering a safe and fun space for younger campers to play. Furthermore, the "owner's daughter does many crafts with the kids as well!" This thoughtful inclusion of children's activities adds another layer of appeal for families looking for a well-rounded camping experience.
The location of Twisted Creek Campground also offers proximity to local attractions. It is noted to be "Near Chimney Bluff State Park - worth a visit." Chimney Bluffs State Park is known for its dramatic clay formations along the shore of Lake Ontario, offering stunning views and hiking opportunities. The campground's proximity to this natural landmark makes it an ideal base for exploring the local area.
For local users searching for "camping near me," Twisted Creek Campground presents itself as a promising new option with a focus on spacious and level sites, essential amenities, a friendly and attentive owner, a peaceful atmosphere, and additional features like live music and children's activities. Its proximity to Chimney Bluffs State Park adds to its appeal for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the region.

Twisted Creek Campground Reviews
Sites were spacious and mostly pull-through. We had reserved a site in back but since we were just there one night, changed to a site up front - #16. It was a level, full hook-up site with 50 amp power. As we were there mid-week in October, it was quiet and not busy. Near Chimney Bluff State Park - worth a visit.
Feb 18, 2025 · Susan SchwadererTwisted Creek was a pleasant surprise. We camped at Twisted Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Sep 23, 2023 · David MeyerI found about this campground on Facebook last year.. booked for 8/15 weekend.. the campground is fantastic for being under construction.. our site was level.. all hook ups were in working order and no issues which make setting up and unhooking a breeze.. there were activities to do like rock painting, bingo, wagon ride, movies and a band on Saturday.. it was a great time.. the owner came by and introduced himself which means a lot to people so they feel a connection since their are not seasonal’s.. there are a lot of seasonal’s but the campers are held to a standard which is nice.. nothing like looking at dumpy campers when your at a rv park.. the staff we encountered were all friendly. This one young girl I swear she was a master of many trades she was making me laugh at all she was doing.. it’s a walkable place there is a incline that isn’t the worst to walk up but for those with issues they may have some difficulty.. will go again. Thx you for a great time. I even bought my camper mascots from their store. 😊
Aug 18, 2024 · Carol EmmonsWe stayed this past weekend and had a great time! Owners and family are very friendly. They have full hookups, plenty of length, and definitely big rig friendly. We look forward to many more visits and seeing all the new sites and amenities they have planned. If we could have added more stars we would have!!
Jul 23, 2023 · Tammy ConnerHad a great time. We were there with family and friends. We also made new friends. The owners and staff are helpful. They have many things to do, wonderful events and on some weekends music. If you don't have a good time it's not their fault.
