Continental Village Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the Jacksonville, Florida area, it's important to be aware that some mobile home parks may offer long-term lot rentals for RVs. Continental Village, located at 5400 Collins Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32244, USA, is primarily a mobile home park. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of Continental Village based on recent customer reviews, focusing on the environment, management, and maintenance as described by its residents.
Concerns Regarding Current Management
A significant point of concern raised in the customer reviews pertains to the current management of Continental Village. One resident, identifying themselves as a long-term inhabitant who has experienced multiple ownership transitions, states that "this management company is the worst." This is a strong indictment and suggests a considerable level of dissatisfaction among at least some residents regarding the current administration of the park.
Allegations of Mismanagement and Neglect
The same resident provides specific examples of what they perceive as mismanagement. These include experiencing "theft," frequent "lot rent increases," and the presence of a "useless gate," implying a lack of security despite the gate's existence. Furthermore, the resident claims that the current management "fail to keep the community in the manner it was when we bought our home," suggesting a decline in the overall upkeep and quality of life within Continental Village. The mention of "photos" as "evidence of their mismanagement" indicates that the resident believes there is visual proof of the park's deteriorating condition.
Unaddressed Maintenance Issues: Storm Drains and Sewage
Another critical issue highlighted in the reviews is the alleged failure to address essential maintenance concerns. One comment, reportedly from a resident, states that the management "Will not fix Storm drains." This suggests potential problems with drainage within the community, which could lead to inconvenience and property damage during periods of heavy rainfall. Adding to these concerns is a report regarding sewage issues. The comment indicates that management was aware of a sewage problem for months, with park staff allegedly driving by it daily on golf carts. The fact that the media was reportedly contacted about this situation and interviewed a resident suggests the severity and prolonged nature of the problem, as well as a perceived lack of responsiveness from management.
Questions Regarding Transparency and Responsiveness
The resident who contacted the media expressed skepticism about the management's claim of only recently discovering the sewage issue, given their own observations over several months. This raises questions about the transparency and proactive nature of the management in addressing maintenance problems. The resident also voiced concerns about potential repercussions for the individual who spoke to the news, highlighting a potentially strained relationship between some residents and the management.
Environment: Perceived Decline in Upkeep and Potential Infrastructure Issues
Based on the negative reviews, the environment of Continental Village is perceived by some residents as having declined under the current management. The allegations of mismanagement and neglect suggest a potential lack of attention to the overall upkeep of the community. Specific concerns about unfixed storm drains and sewage issues point to potential infrastructure problems that could negatively impact the living conditions within the park. The "useless gate" implies a failure to provide the intended sense of security, which can also affect the perceived environment of the community.
Services and Features: Limited Information and Negative Perceptions
The provided reviews offer limited information about the specific services and features of Continental Village. We can infer some basic features typically found in mobile home parks, such as:
- Individual lots for mobile homes (and potentially RVs for long-term stays).
- Utility hookups (water, electricity, sewer) at each lot.
- Roads and common areas within the park.
- A gate at the entrance (though its effectiveness is questioned).
However, the negative context surrounding the management and maintenance raises concerns about the quality and reliability of these basic services. There is no mention of additional amenities such as laundry facilities, recreational areas, or community centers in the provided reviews. The focus is primarily on the perceived failures of the current management to maintain the community adequately.
Suitability for RV Owners Seeking Long-Term Stays: Proceed with Caution
For individuals with camper trailers looking for "RV parks near me" that might offer long-term lot rentals, the information available about Continental Village suggests exercising significant caution. The strong negative feedback regarding the current management, including allegations of mismanagement, neglect of maintenance issues like storm drains and sewage, and concerns about security and increasing lot rents, paints a concerning picture. While long-term RV stays might be possible, the reported living conditions and management practices could lead to a negative experience.
Promotional Information: Not Available
The provided customer reviews do not contain any information regarding specific promotional offers, current lot rental rates for mobile homes or RVs, or any incentives for new residents. Individuals interested in learning more about the park would need to contact Continental Village directly at (904) 204-5162 or +1 904-204-5162. However, given the serious concerns raised in the recent reviews, it is highly recommended to thoroughly investigate the current living conditions and management practices before considering a long-term stay.
Conclusion: Significant Concerns Warrant Thorough Investigation
Continental Village in Jacksonville, FL, has received significant negative feedback from its residents, primarily concerning the current management and the upkeep of the community. Allegations of mismanagement, neglect of essential maintenance like storm drains and sewage systems, concerns about security, and increasing lot rents paint a concerning picture of the living environment. For local users searching for "RV parks near me" and considering Continental Village for a long-term stay, it is strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution. Thoroughly investigating the current conditions, speaking with multiple current residents if possible, and directly addressing the concerns raised in the reviews with the management are crucial steps before making any decisions. The available information suggests that the park may not currently offer a satisfactory living experience for long-term residents, including those with RVs.

Continental Village Reviews
As a resident, we have been through 3 different owners and this management company is the worst. We experience theft, lot rent increases and a useless gate. They fail to keep the community in the manner it was when we bought our home. The photos are evidence of their mismanagement.
Oct 27, 2021 · Angelia ColinWill not fix Storm drains. Sewage /the comment you are about to read is from a resident I spoke with recently .COMMENT they have known since the last time months ago and everyday since then bc every morning they drive on golf carts through the park and drive around it every morning. Now my comment , Not sure how management only found out about the problem over the weekend when I have witnessed it my self over a few months visiting friends, Was it the news media that got their attention on Tuesday July 9 2019,when they interviewed a resident they caught outside that was willing to speak about it? Sure hope there are no repercussions to the guy that spoke to action news Jax.And by the way it was ME that called the media about the situation, no one in the trailer park should have to put up with these ongoing conditions.
Jul 11, 2019 · Roger blackThe community is very well maintained and the staff Danielle, Amber and Chris are always so helpful and doing great things to improve the community. They go the extra mile to help and answer any questions. They have a good team here now and I couldnt be happier to call this home.
Sep 13, 2024 · NikkiThey mistreat their tenants, they try to get the older mobile homes out, they target certain people. They are always putting notices to the people who keep to them selves and pay their rent in time . They never fix their roads or flooding issues we have we drive door high floods just to get to our house . This is the worst management and community to live in . STAY AWAY !!!
Aug 24, 2022 · Marie MosleyThis community has never looked so beautiful. It is a very well kept clean and quiet community. I've enjoyed living here for many years and have seen the progression of it first hand. Management is quick to respond and is very professional. There are so many wonderful changes the clubhouse is absolutely gorgeous. There is a security gate and lots of improvements. I'm happy here and with the way management keep the community clean and clutter free. You will absolutely LOVE IT HERE!!
