For individuals searching for "RV parks near me" in the Portland, Oregon area, Hayden Island MHC, located at 1503 N Hayden Island Dr, Portland, OR 97217, might appear as a potential option. You can contact them at (503) 289-8753 or via mobile phone at +1 503-289-8753. While categorized under "RV parks near me," Hayden Island MHC is primarily a mobile home park. To provide a detailed introduction for local users, it's essential to analyze the available information, including customer reviews, to understand the environment, services, and features of this community.
When exploring "RV parks near me," prospective residents look for various factors that contribute to a comfortable and desirable living experience. These often include the park's location and environment, the quality of management and services, the overall upkeep and features of the community, and the sense of community among residents. The provided customer reviews for Hayden Island MHC offer a mixed perspective on these aspects, which is crucial for an objective introduction.
One reviewer expresses a strong appreciation for their "space next to the water," indicating a significant environmental advantage of Hayden Island MHC – its waterfront location. Waterfront living can offer scenic views and recreational opportunities, making it a highly desirable feature for many. However, this positive aspect is immediately contrasted with a negative overall assessment of the park. The reviewer states, "My opinion is this is not a good place to live. It is run down and as I tell corporate office its like coming into trailer trash living." This is a harsh critique, suggesting potential issues with the park's maintenance and overall condition. The reviewer also mentions that it is "expensive to live" and that the "Office not friendly," implying dissatisfaction with both the cost of residency and the management's demeanor. A lack of pride in the place is also attributed to the management, further contributing to the negative perception. Finally, the reviewer notes "too many junk cars and people who do not take pride in taking care of there place," indicating potential issues with the upkeep of individual lots and the overall aesthetic of the community.
The second review reinforces the negative sentiments regarding management. It advises potential residents to "Please make sure to read the other negative reviews when thinking about moving to this park," suggesting that the issues raised are not isolated. This reviewer describes the "Management very unprofessional" and echoes the sentiment that the park is "run by a larger company," which can sometimes lead to a disconnect between local management and residents' needs. The advice to "double check and keep things in writing when dealing with management" underscores concerns about communication and potential discrepancies. On a more positive note, this reviewer mentions that "maintenance seems to be friendly and the curb appeal is nice," indicating a potential contrast between the office staff and the maintenance team, and a possible effort to maintain the visual appearance of the park's entrance areas.
Considering these reviews, Hayden Island MHC presents a complex picture. The waterfront location is undoubtedly a significant environmental advantage, offering a unique living experience. However, this is overshadowed by strong negative feedback regarding the park's overall condition ("run down," "trailer trash living"), the cost of living ("expensive to live"), and the professionalism and friendliness of the office management ("not friendly," "very unprofessional"). Concerns are also raised about the upkeep of individual properties ("junk cars," residents not taking pride in their place") and the potential difficulties in dealing with the management ("make sure you double check and keep things in writing").
While one reviewer notes that the "curb appeal is nice" and that "maintenance seems to be friendly," these positive aspects may not outweigh the more significant concerns raised about the management and the overall condition of the park. Potential residents searching for "RV parks near me" who come across Hayden Island MHC should carefully consider these points, especially if they are looking for a well-maintained, professionally managed community with a strong sense of pride among residents.
The reviews do not provide specific details about the services and features offered at Hayden Island MHC beyond the waterfront location and the presence of maintenance staff. Typical mobile home parks often offer basic utilities, garbage disposal, and possibly common areas or laundry facilities. The lack of positive comments about specific amenities in the reviews might be indicative of their condition or the residents' overall dissatisfaction. It would be essential for prospective residents to inquire directly with the management about the full range of services and features provided.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" who are drawn to the idea of waterfront living in Portland, Hayden Island MHC might initially seem appealing due to its location. However, the strong negative feedback regarding the park's condition and management should be a significant deterrent. Potential residents should weigh the allure of the waterfront against the reported high cost of living, the perceived lack of maintenance, and the unprofessionalism of the office staff.
The advice to read other negative reviews suggests that the issues raised are not isolated incidents. This implies a potentially systemic problem with the management or the overall upkeep of the park. For those considering long-term RV living within a mobile home community like Hayden Island MHC, these factors could significantly impact their quality of life and overall satisfaction.
It is important to note that while the waterfront location is a unique feature, the negative aspects highlighted by the residents suggest that the potential benefits of this environment may be compromised by other significant drawbacks. The lack of pride in the community, both on the part of the management and some residents, can contribute to a less desirable living environment.
In conclusion, Hayden Island MHC in Portland, OR, offers a unique waterfront location that may be appealing to some individuals searching for "RV parks near me." However, the available customer reviews raise serious concerns about the park's overall condition ("run down"), the cost of living ("expensive"), and the professionalism and friendliness of the management ("not friendly," "very unprofessional"). Potential residents should also be aware of reported issues with the upkeep of individual properties and the presence of "junk cars." While the maintenance staff is described as friendly and the curb appeal as nice, these positives appear to be outweighed by the more significant negative feedback. Local users considering Hayden Island MHC for long-term living, whether in a mobile home or an RV, are strongly advised to proceed with extreme caution, to thoroughly investigate these concerns, and to consider alternative options in the Portland area that may offer a more positive and well-managed living environment.

Hayden Island Mhc Reviews
Of course I love my space next to the water. My opinion is this is not a good place to live. It is run down and as I tell corporate office its like coming into trailer trash living. expensive to live. Office not friendly. They just don't take pride in this place. To many junk cars and people who do not take pride in taking care of there place. Sad
Feb 24, 2025 · Marilyn DawkinsPlease make sure to read the other negative reviews when thinking about moving to this park. Management is very unprofessional and as someone else has said run by a larger company. Make sure you double check and keep things in writing when dealing with management. Otherwise maintenance seems to be friendly and the curb appeal is nice.
Aug 04, 2024 · Rena MUnfortunately, the park is being poorly maintained and residents are not being taken care of. There are cars, run-down vehicles, and dilapidated structures everywhere. There are too many people and animals packed into homes, dogs running loose, and there are people living here who have not been approved by the park. Unfortunately, houseless people are digging through trashcans and entering peoples' properties looking for things to steal. The poorly maintained mailboxes (which are the park's responsibility to secure) were just broken into. The park does the bare minimum to maintain any area which is not immediately visible to the public, while the front of the property is manicured for curb-appeal. Violations are mostly ignored and not reinforced. This company is owned by a large corporation, who apparently just see the property as an investment. I have lived here for over a decade and I would not recommend moving here. It is heartbreaking to see what's transpiring here, despite numerous documented complaints to management.
Nov 13, 2022 · Laura BeeThe staff are rude aside from a few maintenance staff. The office harrasses tenants they do not like and allows other tenants to harass others inside the park. Volunteers for the pool are just plain rude and disrespectful aside from one lady. Id advise anyone looking to move here to look elsewhere its not family oriented in anyway and theres a lot of politics with the office staff. They single out certain tenants and give them violations for things every other tenant has and only violates the ones they dont like. Its an all around terrible place to live and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone.
Jun 16, 2021 · Rebecca BarnettI live here probably not the best person to ask. I love my home, dislike Management. Hoping my years and rating with Google and my years of fair and honest reporting will be taken into account with this review. Management here is not good, no follow through, no support, this could be a beautiful place. Especially with the build up of downtown Vancouver. So many homes for sale. Again, just a happy Googler trying to stay in the top 10%
