Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park Introduce
For those searching for "RV parks near me" in the serene surroundings of Astatula, Florida, Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park, located at 48 Harbor Cir, Astatula, FL 34705, USA, presents itself as a destination with notable waterfront appeal. Contactable via phone at (239) 491-2292 or mobile at +1 239-491-2292, this park offers the allure of scenic views and a friendly community, although potential visitors should also be aware of certain limitations and considerations highlighted in recent customer reviews.
One of the standout features of Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park, as praised by a guest, is the "Wonderful experience, especially if you rent a waterfront spot." The opportunity to enjoy picturesque views directly from your RV, whether cooking, relaxing, or even sleeping, is a significant draw for many RV enthusiasts. The reviewer described the experience as "Truly peaceful and scenic!" and also noted the friendly atmosphere of the park. This suggests that for those fortunate enough to secure a waterfront site, Hide-A-Way Harbor offers a tranquil and visually appealing setting for their RV stay.
However, another, more detailed review provides a more balanced perspective, highlighting both the positives and negatives of the park. This reviewer initially considered a 1.5-star rating but opted for a 2-star rating due to the inability to leave half-star reviews, aiming for fairness to potential future guests. They acknowledged the park's inherent beauty, noting "sunsets are beautiful" and the residents as "very nice and helpful and for the most part enjoyable." This corroborates the friendly community aspect mentioned in the first review.
Despite the scenic environment and friendly residents, this reviewer pointed out several areas of concern. A significant drawback mentioned is the size and layout of some lots, described as "pretty small, cramped, and on top of each other depending on where you get a spot." This could be a crucial consideration for RVers with larger rigs or those who value more personal space and privacy at their campsite. The reviewer also raised a notable sanitary issue, stating that in some spots, the sewer hookup is located in the front yard, leading to potential odor problems if a neighboring sewer system malfunctions. This is a serious concern that could significantly impact the enjoyment of outdoor space at affected sites.
The ground conditions were also mentioned as a challenge, with the reviewer noting that the ground is "so soft" and that the put-down rock offers only "minimally at best" improvement. This could pose issues with leveling RVs or maintaining stable footing around the campsite, especially during wet conditions.
In terms of amenities, the park offers laundry facilities, a "very small marina," and a dock. However, the reviewer noted that "everything needs updating." This suggests that while basic amenities are available, they may be outdated or in need of repair, which could impact the overall convenience and comfort of the stay.
A significant deficiency highlighted in the detailed review is the Wi-Fi, described as "non existent." In today's digital age, reliable internet access is often a necessity for many travelers, whether for work, communication, or entertainment. The lack of functional Wi-Fi at Hide-A-Way Harbor could be a major inconvenience for those who rely on internet connectivity during their RV trips.
The reviewer also commented on the management, stating that "Erick the manager is nice," but expressed uncertainty about whether the issues stem from ownership or management, suggesting that changes at either level "wouldn't hurt." This implies that while the on-site manager may be personable, there are underlying issues related to the park's upkeep, amenities, or policies that need to be addressed.
Another significant concern raised by the reviewer relates to noise and the park's suitability for families with children. They recounted arriving to find a "very loud event going on until 11:00," which was disruptive. This suggests that potential guests, especially those traveling with children or seeking a quiet retreat, should inquire about any scheduled events or potential noise levels during their intended stay.
The overall experience for this reviewer was described as being "best described as thankful it is over," indicating a less than satisfactory stay despite the initial appeal of the location and friendly residents. This candid feedback underscores the importance of considering all aspects of an RV park, including site conditions, amenities, and potential disruptions, when making a booking decision.
Considering the category "RV parks near me," Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park in Astatula offers the significant advantage of waterfront spots with scenic views and a friendly community. However, potential visitors should be aware of the potential drawbacks highlighted in the reviews, including small and cramped lots, potential sewer odor issues in certain areas, soft ground conditions, outdated amenities, non-existent Wi-Fi, and the possibility of noise from park events. The management, while described as nice, may not be fully addressing the underlying issues of the park's infrastructure and amenities.
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" and drawn to the idea of a waterfront location, Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park might still be an option worth considering, particularly if securing a waterfront site is a high priority. However, it is crucial to temper expectations regarding site size, amenities, and internet connectivity. Prospective guests should contact the park directly to inquire about the availability of waterfront sites, the size and layout of the lots, the current status of the amenities (especially laundry, marina, and dock), and whether there are any scheduled events that might impact noise levels during their stay. Asking about any ongoing efforts to address the issues raised in the reviews, such as Wi-Fi upgrades or infrastructure improvements, would also be prudent.
In conclusion, Hide-A-Way Harbor RV Park offers a unique appeal with its waterfront location and friendly community. However, based on recent feedback, it also presents challenges related to site size, potential sanitary issues, ground conditions, outdated amenities, and unreliable Wi-Fi. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" should weigh the allure of the scenic waterfront against these potential drawbacks and conduct thorough due diligence by contacting the park directly to gather the most up-to-date information and determine if it aligns with their specific needs and preferences for an RV stay.

“Wonderful experience, especially if you rent a waterfront spot. You can enjoy the view while cooking or relaxing inside your RV—even while you sleep. Truly peaceful and scenic!” Friendly
Apr 06, 2025 · Martha MartinI wanted to be as fair as possible with my review. My rating at this point is 1.5 stars but due to other people basing their potential experience off of reviews I will drop the half a point since i am unable to leave a half star review. My review covers everything, the park itself, ammentities, management, wifi, ect. The park itself is beautiful, sunsets are beautiful, the residents are very nice and helpful and for the most part enjoyable. Lots are pretty small, cramped, and on top of each other depending on where you get a spot and with sewer in your front yard in some spots, you better hope your neighbors sewer doesnt stink as ours did and you could not do much outside when it did, the ground is so soft and they put rock down but it helps minimally at best. The park offers laundry, a very small marina and a dock, everything needs updating. Other than that there is nothing at Hide A Way Harbor. Wifi is non existent, Erick the manager is nice, not sure if it's ownership or management but either way wouldn't hurt to change both as somewhere someone is failing. Also it does not help whenever you travel with kids to show up and the park has a very loud event going on until 11:00. All in all our stay was best described as thankful it is over. On to the next one happy camping!
Apr 27, 2025 · Review AnonymousRV park is nothing like photos.Leads to believe that it's perfect for sunset, etc..We stayed for a long weekend, and we were put in between 2 there camper it was so tight we couldn't open our awning. The real issue was trying to back in the as the ground was nothing but very loose sand and a deep hole. I had 3wheeldrive and due having to get into the U spun my rear tires, causing my passenger side to get a cut in the sidewall it from something in the loose sand which unfortunately the tire was unrepairable. I emailed the owner and park manager only to get reply oh we are sorry, but there is no offer to help with replacing the tire, and these tires are $325 each.Personally, we will not return to there ever. Very old and outdated sewer pipe was a pipe just sticking out of the ground, no cap, so anything could just climb in it and wind up in your black tank they also state wifi which doesn't exist. Too bad because this could be a nice park if it had the right management and would spend $ to update it. Very sad
Mar 25, 2025 · M DThis was my family's first ever RV experience and it was amazing at this resort. The views of the lake were gorgeous, people were quite polite and friendly and the entire park was immaculate. The manager Lisa was terrific and kind and went out of her way to share her grandsons bike with my 10 year old. She also encouraged me to pick as much basil as I wanted from her beautiful garden along the lake (which I did and added to a delicious spaghetti dinner)! Thank you for the hospitality Lisa! We will definitely be coming back for the natural beauty, fishing and atmosphere. I highly recommend Hide-A-Way Harbor!!!!
Aug 07, 2023 · Mike and Elizabeth EhresmanWe just spent a wonderful week here and loved it. We had site 14, which is one of the three lakefront sites and my husband could just walk out the door and fish. The people are so nice, it feels like family and it’s a very quiet place. Lisa Lucente, the manager, is an absolute gem. She is always riding around in her golf cart making sure everyone is doing well. She even brought us treats and a loaf of fresh bread one night. I agree with another guest who mentioned she should be compensated well! She is a wonderful manager and they are very blessed to have her. We did our laundry there and it’s very affordable and super clean. There are no “amenities” you might find in some of the fancier places but we were not looking for that!I recommended the spaces on the lake or on the canal. We saw some incredibly sunsets each night. I would certainly come again. Now we go back to winter!
