Hugo Estates Introduce
Hugo Estates, situated at 15057 Forest Blvd N, Hugo, MN 55038, is a mobile home park that serves as a residential community for individuals and families in the Hugo, Minnesota area. For those searching for "RV Parks Near Me," it is important to note that Hugo Estates is primarily a mobile home park, meaning it offers leased lots for manufactured homes, rather than transient RV parking for short-term stays typical of many RV parks. However, some mobile home parks may have limited RV hookups or transient spaces, it is crucial to verify directly with Hugo Estates if this is a service they provide, given the focus on long-term residency implied by reviews and general information about mobile home parks.
Hugo Estates is located in Hugo, Minnesota, a city that offers a blend of suburban convenience and natural surroundings. The community is described as being "nestled near Highway 61," providing residents with easy access to major routes, which can be beneficial for commuting to the Twin Cities area, approximately 20-25 minutes from downtown St. Paul. The area around Hugo is known for its "quiet beauty," with "lots of trees and wetlands to look at and enjoy," offering a more tranquil setting compared to denser urban environments.
The lots within Hugo Estates are often characterized as "large lots with mature trees," contributing to a sense of privacy and a more natural aesthetic. While not explicitly an "RV Park," the spacious nature of the lots might appeal to those seeking a more permanent residence for their manufactured homes, rather than just a temporary spot for a recreational vehicle. The community is described as having a "serene, tree-lined lot" atmosphere, with some residents mentioning cornfields as backyards, hinting at a connection to rural landscapes.
The local area is experiencing growth, with "more and more shops and homes going in and a new school will be built soon to accommodate the growing city." This indicates a developing infrastructure and increasing amenities in the vicinity of Hugo Estates.
As a mobile home park, Hugo Estates offers land leases for manufactured homes. The homes themselves are typically privately owned, while the land on which they sit is leased from the park management. The park is managed by Summit Management, a property management company that also operates other communities in Minnesota. Contact for the park can be made via phone at (651) 429-7188 or +1 651-429-7188.
According to available information, Hugo Estates provides on-site management and features community amenities such as a storm shelter and newly paved roads. Some listings for homes within the park mention modern design, expansive kitchen islands, luxurious bathrooms, walk-in closets, and ample storage, indicating that the homes themselves can offer contemporary living spaces.
While the focus is on long-term residency in manufactured homes, it is common for mobile home parks to offer a sense of community. Previous resident comments suggest a "safe neighborhood where kids can play outside and make friends." There have also been mentions of "holiday events at the community center" and "neighborhood night out events, outdoor movie events in the summer," suggesting that there might be community engagement activities facilitated by the management or residents themselves, at least historically.
Promotional materials for Hugo Estates often highlight its blend of convenience and community in the heart of Hugo, Minnesota. The proximity to Highway 61 and nearby attractions is frequently emphasized, suggesting ease of access to shopping, dining, and other services. The tranquil surroundings and mature trees are also points of appeal, positioning the park as a peaceful residential option.
However, it is imperative to address the feedback from real customers, which provides a more nuanced and objective view. Recent reviews, particularly concerning the period since Summit Management took ownership, highlight significant concerns among residents. These concerns include:
Rent Increases: Lot rent has reportedly increased annually since Summit Management took over, currently noted as $575 per month. This has been a source of difficulty for residents, particularly those on low incomes, including seniors over 70 and individuals with disabilities.
Strict Rules and Eviction Threats: Residents report a constant increase in rules and threats of eviction over what are perceived as "silly things," such as not having the outside skirting of homes pressure-washed or loose screws. This indicates a management approach that some residents find overly stringent and potentially exploitative.
No Pet Policy: A new policy prohibiting pets, including indoor cats, reptiles, birds, and insects, has been implemented, causing distress among residents who previously had pets.
Lack of Improvement: Despite rent increases, residents state that there have been no discernible improvements to the park under the new ownership, leading to a perception that the company is "only out to make more and more profit."
These reviews suggest a shift in the resident experience at Hugo Estates, moving from a potentially more community-focused environment to one dominated by management-imposed regulations and financial pressures. While some older reviews suggest a safe and quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors and opportunities for kids to play outside, the more recent feedback paints a picture of growing dissatisfaction regarding management practices.
Therefore, for anyone considering Hugo Estates, particularly those searching for "RV Parks Near Me" with an interest in a mobile home community, it is crucial to weigh the promotional aspects against the direct feedback from current and former residents. While the location offers accessibility and a natural setting, the management's policies regarding rent, rules, and pet ownership, as described in resident reviews, are significant factors to consider when evaluating this community as a potential home.

Hugo Estates Reviews
I have family that has lived in the park since 2017. The new owners Summit Management are horrible. Constantly increasing the rules and raising the rent since they took ownership a few years ago.The lot rent here a month is currently $575 and has been increased every year since Summit took over. Most of the people who live here are low income and they have made it so very difficult for them. Even though they have residents who are over 70 and some that are disabled. They constantly threat to evict them over silly things like not having the outside pressured washed on the bottom skirting and they have even checked for loose screws and threaded to take action if not fixed by their stated time period.Summit Management is a growing property management company and does not care about their residents, they are only out to make more and more profit and they find every way they can to threaten eviction and fines. They now have a no pet policy that even includes reptiles, birds, and insects. How ridiculous is it to limit your residents to not being allowed to have indoor cats. It’s pretty sad that companies only care about money and not the people they are getting paid by.
Dec 16, 2024 · Shelly AndersonPlace is junk. The ownership changed and they jacked up lot rent and they have effectively done nothing to improve the park.
Jan 16, 2025 · Matthew ClarkI think it is way too strict...you can not even feed the birdsWould not recommend to anybody!!
Dec 05, 2024 · Julie WrichYou guys are ridiculous. How long did you sit here and make fake 5 star reviews for yourself? I don't live here, but I have family and friends that do, for over 15 years. Constantly threatening people with eviction for every tiny little thing, raising rent as drastically as you have with no cares for the low income, elderly or disabled people on fixed incomes. You replace homes with used FEMA trailers and ask for $1400 in rent on top of your lot rent! I rent a townhouse, over twice the size of your trailer, and pay less, without the constant harassment of management. Market rate is less. Most people that live in a trailer park do so for economic reasons and now they are seeking help from food shelves and government assistance when they were able to handle things without help before. $305 to $490 is so dramatic for those folks. Threats to evict elderly for not having lawns mowed, power washed houses, roof replacements. I understand working to better the park, but you do know how much the people there suffer and it's worse because they know that you don't care. Absolutely shameful. And put in a playground for the kids, you charge enough to live there, the kids shouldn't have to go to the school or leave the premises to play.
Sep 09, 2022 · Amanda BloomstromWe moved into Hugo Estates in October 2020 and had some major setbacks getting our home placed and ready to move in. With the help of Katrina, Robbie, all the property staff and owners of Summit Properties, our move was made much easier. We are very thankful for all the hard work we received from everyone and truly making our transition less hectic and possible. Katrina and all staff involved were very responsive and helpful. All of questions and concerns were answered and taken care of in a timely manner.Everyone is extremely nice and friendly. It truly is a wonderful community, very clean and well maintained.
