Kampers West Kampground Introduce
When searching for "RV parks near me" in the Warrenton, Oregon area, Kampers West Kampground, situated at 1140 NW Warrenton Dr, Warrenton, OR 97146, USA, presents itself as a campground with a distinct small-town feel. The contact numbers for the park are (503) 861-1814 and +1 503-861-1814.
According to some long-term visitors, Kampers West Kampground offers a welcoming and clean environment. One reviewer, who is looking forward to their eighth year staying at the campground for a month each year, describes it as having an "older and CLEAN!" atmosphere. They appreciate the fact that the staff lives on-site, contributing to a sense of community where it feels like "home" to both them and many permanent residents. This suggests a stable and close-knit environment for those seeking longer stays or a familiar place to return to.
The facilities at Kampers West Kampground are reported to be "well kept," indicating a commitment to maintaining the grounds and amenities for the comfort of their guests. This is an important aspect for any RVer looking for a reliable and comfortable place to stay.
It's worth noting that the ownership and staff at Kampers West Kampground have undergone changes in recent years, with one reviewer mentioning that the "staff Upgraded as well!" This suggests a positive shift towards improved service and management, which can enhance the overall guest experience.
For those mindful of budget, Kampers West Kampground is highlighted as a potentially cost-effective option. The same long-term visitor praises it "For price! For convenience! For welcoming feel… this is a win win!" This suggests that the campground offers a good balance of affordability and essential amenities, making it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers.
A significant feature of Kampers West Kampground, according to a seasoned guest, is its appeal to fishing enthusiasts. They emphatically state, "If you are a fisherman… this place is the best!" While the specific reasons for this designation are not detailed in the provided reviews, it implies a proximity to excellent fishing spots or perhaps specific amenities catering to anglers, making it a prime location for those looking to enjoy the rich fishing opportunities in the Warrenton area.
The positive experiences shared by some guests are also contingent on adhering to the campground's rules and code of conduct. The long-term reviewer advises, "If you follow the rules, and respect the code of conduct… you will fall in LOVE🩷 we did!" This indicates that Kampers West Kampground likely has established guidelines to ensure a harmonious environment for all residents and visitors, and those who respect these guidelines tend to have a very positive experience.
However, it is crucial to consider the more critical feedback from other recent potential guests. One reviewer, despite having a "standing reservation" for years, reported significant difficulties in communication. They stated, "However I've been trying to get a hold of them for weeks. They've changed their hours from 10 to 2pm and NEVER answer their phones or emails." This raises concerns about the accessibility of the management and the reliability of their communication channels. Such issues can be particularly frustrating for travelers trying to confirm or modify their reservations.
Furthermore, this same reviewer recounted a significant discrepancy regarding their reservation dates, claiming that the "acting 'Manager' said our reservations were for the last part of July, when they were and always have been for the months of Aug & Sept. Someone pulled a fast one on us. So we cancelled the whole visit and will never go back there." This serious accusation of mishandling reservations and a lack of remorse from the management is a significant point of concern for prospective visitors. It suggests potential issues with the organizational practices and customer service at the campground.
Adding to these negative experiences, the reviewer also mentioned the unfortunate situation of friends who had work-camped at Kampers West Kampground for nine years. These friends reportedly "just found out that they no longer have jobs there when they called to talk to them. The camp office didn't call them, my friends had to call. No explanation, nothing!! Sketch for sure." This account paints a picture of potentially unprofessional communication and a lack of consideration for long-term staff members, which could reflect on the overall management style.
Another point of criticism raised is the perceived value for money. The disgruntled former guest stated, "They raise their price almost annually and they have minimal amenities." This suggests that while the price might have been considered reasonable in the past, the increasing costs are not being matched by improvements or expansions in the facilities and services offered. For RVers who prioritize amenities, Kampers West Kampground might fall short of expectations based on this feedback.
The overall sentiment of this critical reviewer is one of deep disappointment, as they conclude, "To say I'm dissapointed in how they treat people, is an understatement." They also extended an open invitation to the owners to contact them, indicating a desire to provide more detailed feedback on their negative experiences.
In summary, Kampers West Kampground appears to be a campground with a loyal base of long-term visitors who appreciate its small-town charm, cleanliness, and affordability, particularly highlighting its appeal to fishermen. However, recent feedback raises significant concerns regarding communication, reservation management, treatment of staff, and the perceived value in relation to increasing prices and minimal amenities. Potential visitors should weigh these contrasting perspectives when considering Kampers West Kampground for their stay in the Warrenton area. It might be beneficial to directly contact the campground to inquire about their current policies, amenities, and reservation procedures to make an informed decision.

Apr 03, 2025 · Tia MansfieldAlthough our last visit was almost 2 years ago, we keep a standing reservation. However I've been trying to get a hold of them for weeks. They've changed their hours from 10 to 2pm and NEVER answer their phones or emails. The acting "Manager" said our reservations were for the last part of July, when they were and always have been for the months of Aug & Sept. Someone pulled a fast one on us. So we cancelled the whole visit and will never go back there. I wonder how the owners would feel knowing that their office staff sucks that bad. The "manager" didn't show an ounce of remorse. Our friends have work camped there for 9 years and just found out that they no longer have jobs there when they called to talk to them. The camp office didn't call them, my friends had to call. No explanation, nothing!! Apr 15, 2025 · Tammi LeroyThis is a nice quiet park. All the ladies in the office were super upbeat and friendly. The laundry room was adequate and reasonably priced, just $1.50 for both the washers and dryers. They only have 30 Amp hookups but not a big deal. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
Jul 18, 2024 · Rose EstevezI recently stayed 2 nights. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The facilities such as laundry, restroom and showers are very clean! The shower stays nice and hot.The fish cleaning station is a nice set up!There are elk that visit and lots of baby ducks behind the tent sites.I look forward to my next stay.
Jul 04, 2024 · Robert DayNice showers, laundry room, toilets, club house, pet areas and staff. This basic RV park has little to no privacy. Campers are generally fish or crab and are semi long term. This means they have popups on their grassy area which impede on your privacy. The spaces are close together. There were many empty spaces during our stay, but we were put in a space that had NO privacy. Will not recommend or return.
