Hammond Marina RV Park Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" along the Oregon Coast, Hammond Marina RV Park in Hammond, Oregon, presents a potential option. Located at 320 Lake Dr, Hammond, OR 97121, USA, the park's name suggests a connection to the nearby Hammond Marina, which could be appealing to those interested in boating and waterfront activities. However, it is crucial for prospective visitors to consider the information available from customer reviews to form a realistic expectation of the park's environment, services, and features.
Location and Potential Environment in Hammond, Oregon
Hammond is a small community situated at the mouth of the Columbia River, near Astoria, on the northern Oregon Coast. Its proximity to the river and the Pacific Ocean makes it a potentially attractive location for those seeking coastal experiences, including fishing, boating, and exploring the natural beauty of the area. The address on Lake Drive further suggests a waterfront or near-waterfront location, potentially offering scenic views or easy access to water-related activities associated with the Hammond Marina.
However, one of the customer reviews explicitly states, "This is NOT A PHOTO OF HAMMOND MARINA RV PARK. It is a PHOTO OF HAMMOND MARINA. Different place, different address, same town." This crucial piece of information indicates a potential for confusion between the RV park and the marina itself. While they share the town name and likely are in the same general vicinity, they are distinct entities. Therefore, local users should be careful not to base their expectations of the RV park on images or information related solely to the marina.
The same review also provides a less favorable description of the RV park itself, referring to it as "a trailer park that's overpriced" with trailers situated "too close together." This suggests a potentially crowded environment with limited personal space between RV sites. For RVers seeking a spacious and secluded natural setting, this feedback indicates that Hammond Marina RV Park might not meet those expectations.
Limited Services and Features Based on Reviews
One of the customer reviews explicitly details the limited amenities available at Hammond Marina RV Park. According to this review, "There are no concrete slabs or evan gravel parking spots." This implies that RVs might be parked on grass or unpaved surfaces, which could be a concern during wet weather conditions common on the Oregon Coast. Lack of proper parking pads can also lead to uneven leveling and potentially muddy conditions around the RV.
The review further states, "There are no amenities except a laundry room with 2 showers." This suggests a very basic level of facilities. The presence of a laundry room and showers is essential for longer stays, but the mention of only two showers for the entire park could indicate potential wait times or limited privacy, depending on the park's occupancy. The absence of other commonly expected RV park amenities, such as restrooms (separate from the showers), recreational areas, Wi-Fi, or organized activities, could be a significant drawback for many RV travelers.
The comment about the park being "overpriced" in relation to the limited amenities and potentially crowded conditions is also a crucial consideration for local users. It suggests that the value proposition of Hammond Marina RV Park might not align with its cost compared to other RV parks in the region that offer more comprehensive facilities and a more spacious environment.
Lack of Environmental Details Beyond Crowding
The reviews provide limited information about the overall environment of Hammond Marina RV Park beyond the observation that the trailers (presumably RVs) are close together. There is no mention of natural features, landscaping, or the general aesthetic appeal of the park. The absence of concrete or gravel parking spots could contribute to a less maintained or more rustic feel, depending on individual preferences. Local users who value a well-maintained and visually appealing RV park should consider this lack of positive environmental feedback.
However, the park's proximity to Hammond Marina and the potential access to waterfront activities could be considered an environmental advantage for those specifically seeking these experiences. The town of Hammond itself, with its coastal location, offers a unique environment that might appeal to visitors interested in exploring the mouth of the Columbia River and the surrounding natural areas.
No Mention of Promotional Information
The provided customer reviews do not contain any information regarding promotional offers, discounts, or special rates for Hammond Marina RV Park. It is common for RV parks to have seasonal promotions or extended stay discounts, but there is no indication of such offers in the available feedback. Local users interested in potential promotions would need to contact the park directly at (503) 861-0547 or +1 503-861-0547 to inquire.
Given the negative feedback regarding pricing in relation to amenities, it would be prudent for local users to specifically ask about rates and compare them to other RV parks in the vicinity to ensure they are getting fair value.
Key Considerations for Local RV Enthusiasts
For local users in the Hammond, Oregon area, or those planning a trip to the northern Oregon Coast and searching for "RV parks near me," Hammond Marina RV Park presents a location with potential access to waterfront activities due to its proximity to the marina. However, the customer reviews raise significant concerns that should be carefully considered.
The feedback suggests that the park might be overcrowded, lack proper parking pads, and offer very limited amenities beyond a laundry room with two showers. The opinion that the park is "overpriced" in relation to these limitations is also a crucial point. Furthermore, the clarification that the RV park is separate from the marina itself underscores the importance of seeking specific information about the RV park rather than relying on assumptions based on the marina's features or appearance.
Local users are strongly advised to contact Hammond Marina RV Park directly to inquire about current rates, site availability, specific amenities offered, and the nature of the parking surfaces. It would also be beneficial to ask for more details about the spacing between RV sites. If possible, visiting the park in person to assess the conditions and environment firsthand would be the most effective way to determine if it meets individual needs and expectations. Comparing the offerings and prices with other RV parks in the Hammond and Astoria areas will help local users make an informed decision about their accommodation options on the Oregon Coast.

Jan 30, 2025 · Cindy TracyMy husband and I got denied to live here, and was not given a reason is seems kind of bogus to not have a reason. How am I supposed to fix what I’m doing wrong if I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong. We are literally perfect candidates. No kids. Two full-time jobs. No debt. We both work at night, so we are very quiet because we sleep during the day and gone at night. Their loss that’s unfortunate. If I had a way to contact the owner, I would have.
Jan 26, 2023 · Sierra HodgesThis marina is not all it seems. With three hidden little beaches and a view of Astoria and the ships and boats passing by, this is a nice marina to spend the day at. You'll have even more to do if you have a boat!
Oct 03, 2020 · Briana KesslerNice quiet place to park that rv and stay awhile or choose to live there permanently for awhile like something, Hammond is located in an awesome area with fort Stevens as neighbors and. The Hammond marina close by, that is always well kept up and very inviting.
