Powell Estates Introduce
For local users searching for "RV parks near me" in the Erie, Pennsylvania area, Powell Estates, located at 3460 W 12th St, Erie, PA 16505, is a mobile home park that may offer long-term residency options for those with mobile homes or potentially accommodate recreational vehicles. However, it is crucial to note that the available information primarily focuses on the mobile home moving services associated with the name "Powell," and customer reviews are centered on these services rather than the living environment or amenities of the mobile home park itself. Therefore, this introduction will primarily address the moving services and caution local users to seek additional information regarding the park's living conditions.
The environment surrounding Powell Estates in Erie, PA, is likely a mix of residential and commercial areas along West 12th Street. Erie is a city located on the southern shore of Lake Erie and offers a variety of urban conveniences and access to the lakefront. The specific characteristics of the mobile home park's immediate surroundings, such as landscaping, green spaces, or proximity to local amenities, are not detailed in the provided information. For those considering Powell Estates as a potential "RV park near me" for long-term living, further investigation into the park's setting and neighborhood would be advisable.
Information regarding the services and features of Powell Estates as a mobile home park is absent in the provided data. Typically, mobile home parks offer:
- **Individual Lots:** Spaces for placing mobile homes, usually with utility hookups.
- **Utility Connections:** Access to water, electricity, and sewer services for residents.
- **Roadways and Infrastructure:** Internal roads for residents and visitors.
- **Potential Amenities:** Some parks may offer additional amenities such as laundry facilities, community rooms, or recreational areas, but this is not confirmed for Powell Estates.
- **Management:** On-site or off-site management to oversee the park's operations.
Since the customer reviews pertain exclusively to mobile home moving services seemingly offered by an entity associated with "Powell," it is essential to focus on these experiences to provide an objective understanding of this aspect. It is unclear if these moving services are directly managed by Powell Estates or are a separate business operating under a similar name or affiliation.
One reviewer described "Some of the cheapest mobile home movers in the area," but immediately cautioned that "you're going to get extremely cheap work." This suggests that while cost-effective, the quality of the moving services might be compromised.
Another, more detailed review recounted a highly negative experience with a scheduled mobile home move. The move, initially planned for one day, extended to four days due to a series of issues. These included:
- **Failure to Identify a Problem:** The movers allegedly missed a bent axle during prior inspections, only discovering it on the day of the move.
- **Additional Costs:** The customer incurred an unexpected $125 rental fee for an axle.
- **Poor Route Planning:** The movers chose a route involving roundabouts, which reportedly led to significant damage, including seven blown tires and two bent rims, likely exacerbated by the bent axle.
- **Incomplete Service:** The mobile home was left at a "random business" near the destination instead of being fully set up on the scheduled day.
- **Further Delays:** The tie-downs were not completed until two days after the initial move.
- **Improper Disconnections:** Plumbing and electrical systems were reportedly "hacked off" and "ripped out" without the owners' consent or prior communication.
- **Significant Inconvenience:** The extended timeframe disrupted the homeowners' plans for utility hookups and inspections.
- **Lack of Professionalism:** The reviewer expressed disappointment in the "mediocre at best" service and the lack of communication regarding the disconnections.
This detailed negative review paints a concerning picture of the professionalism and competence of the mobile home moving services associated with "Powell." The issues described suggest a lack of attention to detail, poor planning, and a failure to communicate effectively with the customer.
In contrast, a third, very brief review offered a positive perspective, describing the service as provided by a "Very experienced and professional family owned company" that was "Easy and enjoyable to work with" and recommended their "transport services." This starkly contrasting review suggests a potential inconsistency in service quality or perhaps reflects an experience with a different aspect of the business or a different crew.
For local users specifically searching for "RV parks near me" and considering Powell Estates for long-term RV living, the provided reviews about mobile home moving services offer no direct information about the park's suitability for RVs. It would be essential to seek information from other sources regarding:
- **RV Site Availability:** Does Powell Estates offer designated sites for recreational vehicles?
- **RV Hookups:** Are water, electricity, and sewer hookups available at RV sites? What is the amperage of the electrical service?
- **RV Site Sizes:** Can the sites accommodate different sizes of RVs? Are they pull-through or back-in sites?
- **Park Amenities for RVers:** Are there any amenities specifically catering to RVers, such as dump stations, laundry facilities, or recreational areas?
- **Rates and Policies for RV Stays:** What are the daily, weekly, or monthly rates for RV sites? What are the park's rules and regulations for RV residents?
Given the limited information about Powell Estates as an RV or mobile home park and the mixed but concerning reviews regarding associated moving services, local users should proceed with caution. If considering residency at Powell Estates, it is strongly recommended to:
- **Contact Powell Estates directly at (814) 833-1560 or +1 814-833-1560** to inquire specifically about their mobile home park facilities, availability, rates, and policies for both mobile homes and RVs (if applicable).
- **Visit the location in person** to assess the environment, the condition of the park, and any available amenities.
- **If possible, speak with current residents** to get firsthand accounts of the living conditions and management responsiveness.
- **Seek out additional online reviews or information** specifically about Powell Estates as a mobile home or RV park, rather than focusing solely on moving services.
In conclusion, Powell Estates in Erie, PA, is a mobile home park located on West 12th Street. While reviews exist for mobile home moving services potentially associated with "Powell," these are mixed, with one detailing a highly negative experience of unprofessionalism, damage, and poor communication, while another offers a positive assessment. There is no direct information provided about the environment, services, or features of Powell Estates as a mobile home or RV park. Local users searching for "RV parks near me" or mobile home living options in Erie should contact Powell Estates directly and seek additional information to make an informed decision about residency.

Powell Estates Reviews
Some of the cheapest mobile home movers in the area. The only problem with that is, you're going to get extremely cheap work.We were scheduled to have our trailer moved from McKean to Saegertown on a Monday. The weather kinda screwed us and pushed it back a day, which wasn't a big deal at the time and we were told it would be there on Tuesday and all setup before they left. That didn't happen. At all. When they went to move the trailer on Tuesday they discovered that it had a bent axle that they somehow didn't notice on their other trips out to look at the trailer and that it would need replaced, so we rented one of their axles for $125 thinking that "well, what's another $125?"On the way from McKean to Saegertown, instead of avoiding the round-a-bouts and taking 86, they decided to take 79 and go through two round-a-bouts. They blew 7 tires and bent two rims because of a bent axle and going through the round-a-bouts then instead of finishing the job, they parked our home at a random business less than half a mile away from where it was being moved to to wait till Wednesday to finish it.The next morning comes along and they get everything into place, but somehow they didn't finish the tie-downs and had to come back on Thursday to finish them. Then, on Friday we discovered that they didn't even bother to disconnect the plumbing or electrical correctly. They hacked off all the PVC pipe with a saw and ripped all the wires out of the fuse box.My wife and I are fairly reasonable people. Had Powell's contacted us and said "we can't disconnect these pipes or the electric, do you mind if we cut the pipes and remove the wires from the box?" we probably wouldn't have had an issue with it, but they did it without so much as a word to us.What was supposed to be a 1 day escapade turned into a 4 day one, which really stunted our plans to have the gas, electric, and water hooked up before the weekend to have the inspector come out and look at it. Had I realized that they were going to be mediocre at best, I would have given another business my money.
