Shortridge Village Introduce
For local users searching for "rv parks near me" in the Indianapolis area, Shortridge Village, situated at 7441 Chinook Cir, Indianapolis, IN 46219, presents itself as a mobile home park with potential implications for RV living. While the platform category suggests a focus on RV parks, it's important to understand that a mobile home park may offer different services, environment, and features compared to a traditional RV park designed specifically for recreational vehicles. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on the limited information available, primarily from customer reviews.
When looking for "rv parks near me," local users typically seek well-maintained facilities, essential amenities for recreational vehicles, a safe and comfortable environment, and perhaps a sense of community. However, the available reviews for Shortridge Village paint a concerning picture that potential residents, including those considering it as an RV park option, should carefully consider.
Environment and Scenery:
The provided reviews do not offer positive descriptions of the environment and scenery within Shortridge Village. One reviewer explicitly states, "It was a real dump!" and another echoes this sentiment with "Total dump!" These strong negative characterizations suggest that the overall aesthetic and upkeep of the park may be significantly lacking. Descriptions of "streets are trash huge pot holes" further support this negative assessment, indicating potential issues with the infrastructure and general maintenance of the grounds.
While the natural surroundings of the location in Indianapolis are not detailed in the reviews, the internal environment of Shortridge Village, based on the direct feedback from former residents, appears to be far from appealing. Potential local users searching for "rv parks near me" likely prioritize a clean, well-maintained, and visually pleasant environment, which the current information suggests may not be the case at Shortridge Village.
Services and Amenities:
The customer reviews provide very limited information about the services and amenities offered at Shortridge Village, and what is mentioned is largely negative:
- Road Conditions: One reviewer points out that the "streets are trash huge pot holes," indicating poor infrastructure maintenance that could affect RVs and other vehicles. The mention of "ridiculous and many" speed bumps also suggests potential inconveniences for drivers.
- Security and Safety: Concerns are raised regarding safety and security within the community. One review mentions "lots of drugs being sold" and "stray dogs try to bite people," with the added frustration that "when you call animal control they never show up!" These are serious allegations that potential residents should be highly aware of. The issue of "kids run wild with little or no supervision" also contributes to a potentially unsafe or disruptive environment.
- Management Issues: One reviewer accuses the management of making homes "look good enough to get u in and then things fall apart quickly," suggesting deceptive practices and a lack of ongoing maintenance or quality in the housing offered. The complaint about being tagged for a "car tire is a little low" further suggests a potentially overly strict or unreasonable management style focused on minor infractions while seemingly neglecting more significant issues like safety and infrastructure.
Typical RV parks often offer amenities such as hookups for water, electricity, and sewage, laundry facilities, communal areas, and potentially recreational facilities. None of these are mentioned in the reviews for Shortridge Village. The focus of the negative feedback is on the poor condition of the park, safety concerns, and management practices, rather than on the availability or quality of typical RV park amenities.
Features and Highlights:
Based on the overwhelmingly negative reviews, there are very few, if any, positive features or highlights to objectively report about Shortridge Village from the perspective of someone searching for "rv parks near me." The one exception is a highly subjective and inappropriate comment in one review, which should not be considered a legitimate feature of the park and is included here only to fully represent the provided text.
The negative aspects highlighted by the reviewers, such as the poor condition of the park, safety concerns related to drugs and stray animals, unsupervised children, and potentially predatory management practices, far outweigh any potential positive features that are not mentioned.
For local users specifically seeking "rv parks near me," it is crucial to find a location that prioritizes safety, maintenance, and the provision of necessary amenities for recreational vehicles. The information available for Shortridge Village strongly suggests that it may not meet these criteria.
Promotional Information:
The provided information does not include any promotional details for Shortridge Village. Given the severely negative feedback from former residents, it is unlikely that the park would be actively promoting itself in a way that would attract discerning individuals or families looking for a positive living or RV experience.
Local users searching for "rv parks near me" are advised to seek out parks with positive reviews, transparent management, and clearly advertised amenities that cater to the needs of RVs.
Customer Reviews Analysis:
The two available customer reviews for Shortridge Village are overwhelmingly negative and raise serious concerns:
- The first review details a multitude of problems, including the poor condition of the homes and the park overall ("real dump"), allegations of drug sales, safety issues with unsupervised children and stray dogs, and what is perceived as unfair management practices (tagging for low tire pressure). The reviewer strongly advises against living there, citing being "ripped off" with "faulty homes for high prices" and labeling the experience as "very, bad."
- The second review echoes the "Total dump!" sentiment and corroborates the issue of poor infrastructure ("speed bumps are ridiculous and many, streets are trash huge pot holes"). The only marginally positive comment is highly inappropriate and irrelevant to the quality or suitability of the park as a living environment or RV park.
The consistency and severity of the negative feedback in both reviews should be a significant red flag for any local user considering Shortridge Village, whether for mobile home living or as an option found under the category of "rv parks near me."
Conclusion:
Based on the available information, particularly the direct feedback from former residents, Shortridge Village appears to be a mobile home park that may not be suitable for those searching for "rv parks near me" or even for long-term residency in general. The reviews highlight significant concerns regarding the park's environment, safety, infrastructure, and management practices. Allegations of drug sales, aggressive stray animals, unsupervised children, and poorly maintained grounds paint a picture that is far from the typical expectations of a reputable RV park or a desirable living community.
Local users seeking "rv parks near me" in the Indianapolis area are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and to thoroughly investigate other options with more positive reviews and a proven track record of providing a safe, well-maintained, and amenity-rich environment for recreational vehicles. The information available for Shortridge Village suggests that it may not offer the quality of life or the services expected from a reputable RV park and could potentially lead to a negative living experience. Contacting the park directly at (317) 356-1666 or +1 317-356-1666 might provide additional information, but the serious concerns raised in the independent reviews should be carefully weighed by any potential local users.

Shortridge Village Reviews
I lived there at 7334 Kickapoo trail. It was a real dump! They make them look good enough to get u in and then things fall apart quickly. Not worth the money. Lots of drugs being sold in that community! Kids run wild with little or no supervision.!!!! Stray dogs try to bite people and when you call animal control they never show up! Lord forbid if your car tire is a little low cause they will tag it!!!! I would never recommend this to noone! They need to clean it up and stop ripping people off by selling them faulty homes for high prices.!!!!!! Very, bad experience
