As you explore "camping near me" in the Cape May area, Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May presents itself as a destination with potential, especially with recent changes in management. However, it is crucial to consider both the positive anticipation for future seasons and the negative experiences reported by past guests to gain a balanced perspective.
The Environment and Location:
The campground's location in Cape May Court House places it within proximity to the attractions of the Cape May area, known for its beaches, Victorian architecture, and various tourist activities. While the reviews do not extensively describe the immediate natural environment of the campground itself, its location suggests accessibility to the coastal environment and potential for day trips to the shore and other local points of interest. The specific layout of the campground, including the types of campsites available (e.g., RV sites, tent sites, cabins), is not detailed in the provided reviews.
Services and Amenities (Reported):
The reviews offer limited and sometimes conflicting information regarding the services and amenities at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May:
- New Management: A recent positive review enthusiastically mentions meeting the new manager, Megan, and expresses excitement for the 2025 season based on her plans. This suggests that significant changes and potential improvements are underway.
- New Water Filtration System: The same positive review highlights a new and "awesome" water filtration system that is already operational. This indicates an effort to address potential water quality issues.
- Website Listing of Activities (Potentially Inaccurate): A negative review from a Halloween camping trip in the past indicates that the website listed numerous holiday-themed activities (hayride, costume contest, trick-or-treating, dance party) that did not occur. This suggests a potential issue with the accuracy of online information regarding activities.
- Golf Cart Rentals (Potentially Unreliable): One guest reported renting a golf cart for the weekend that did not work and remained unusable despite two notifications to the office.
- Water Quality Issues (Past Reports): A significant complaint in one review concerns yellow-brown stained water with an awful odor in all toilets and showers, including those in a rented cabin. The reviewer did not feel clean after bathing in this water. The mention of a new water filtration system in a more recent review suggests that the management is aware of and attempting to resolve these past water quality problems.
- Bee Swarms: Another serious issue reported was the presence of two different types of bees swarming multiple campsites, resulting in two people from the reviewer's party being stung.
Information regarding other standard campground amenities such as restrooms, laundry facilities, recreational areas (besides potential planned activities), or hookups for RV sites is not provided in these reviews.
Features and Considerations:
Based on the limited and contrasting feedback, Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May presents several features and important considerations for local users:
- Potential for Improved Experience Under New Management: The positive feedback about the new manager and the new water filtration system offers hope for a better experience in the future, particularly for the 2025 season.
- Uncertainty Regarding Activity Fulfillment: Past experiences indicate that advertised activities, especially for holiday weekends, may not occur as listed. Local users should verify the schedule of activities directly with the campground before booking, especially for themed events.
- Potential for Equipment Malfunction: The issue with the non-functional golf cart highlights a possibility of problems with rented equipment and the responsiveness of the staff in resolving such issues at the time of the reported incident.
- Past Significant Water Quality Problems: The report of discolored and foul-smelling water is a serious concern that potential guests should be aware of, although the installation of a new water filtration system suggests an attempt to rectify this. It would be prudent for prospective guests to inquire about the current status of the water quality.
- Safety Concerns Regarding Wildlife: The presence of swarming bees and resulting stings raises a safety concern that the campground management should address to ensure guest safety.
- Rudeness of Past Management (Reported): One reviewer described the manager at the time of their visit as "beyond rude" and reported harassment. The positive mention of the new manager suggests a change in this aspect, but it is a point to note regarding past experiences.
The conflicting nature of the reviews, with positive anticipation for the future under new management contrasting sharply with negative reports of past experiences, makes it challenging to form a definitive assessment of the current state of the campground.
The Local Environment of Cape May Court House, NJ:
Cape May Court House is the county seat of Cape May County, located in the southern part of New Jersey. It is situated inland from the immediate coast but provides easy access to the beaches and attractions of Cape May, Wildwood, and other shore towns. The area offers a mix of natural landscapes, including wetlands and forests, as well as commercial and residential areas. Local attractions include the Cape May County Park & Zoo, historic sites, and proximity to the Delaware Bay.
Local users staying at Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May might find it a convenient base for exploring the wider Cape May region, with its diverse offerings of beaches, nature preserves, and entertainment options. However, the reviews provided do not offer specific insights into the immediate surroundings of the campground itself.
Objective Assessment:
Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May is undergoing a transition with new management, which has generated positive anticipation for future improvements, including a new water filtration system. However, past guest experiences highlight significant issues such as the non-fulfillment of advertised activities, problems with rented equipment, poor water quality, bee swarms, and rude management. While the new management seems to be addressing some of these concerns (like water quality), potential local users should be aware of the campground's recent history.
The stark contrast between the positive outlook for the future and the negative reports of the past necessitates caution. Local users considering this campground for their "camping near me" search should weigh the potential for an improved experience against the documented problems. It would be advisable to seek more current reviews and potentially contact the campground directly to inquire about the status of improvements, activity schedules, and measures taken to address past issues like water quality and pest control.
Promotional Information:
The positive review mentioning excitement for the 2025 season and the "awesome" new water filtration system could be considered a form of positive promotion for future guests. However, no specific promotional offers, discounts, or details about future events beyond the past Halloween disappointment are provided in the reviews. Local users interested in any promotions or specific offerings for the upcoming season should contact Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May directly.
In conclusion, Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May presents a complex picture for those seeking "camping near me." The introduction of new management and a new water filtration system are positive signs for the future. However, past issues with activity fulfillment, equipment reliability, water quality, and pest control are serious concerns that potential guests should consider. Local users are encouraged to seek updated information and potentially inquire directly with the campground about the current conditions and future plans before making a reservation.

Adventure Bound Camping Resorts - Cape May Reviews
Met the new manager! Wow! she is great! Heard lots of plans and my family is really excited for the 2025 season! The new water filtration system is up and running, and it is awesome too! Thank you Megan! Great job!
Apr 19, 2025 · Jeffrey KaneTerrible experience from start to finish. My family booked our annual Halloween camping trip because the website listed so many different holiday themed activities for the kids: Hayride, Costume Contest, Trick-or-treating, dance party...NONE OF THIS TOOK PLACE!!While everyone was arriving and unloading our cars, the manager came and started harassing my uncle, who planned the weekend for my family. The manager was beyond rude the entire weekend. We rented a gold cart for the weekend, it did not work, and after notifying the office twice, it remained at our campsite, completely useless.I'm not sure what the issue was with the water, but every single toilet and shower (including those in our cabin) were stained yellow-brown from the water, and the water had an awful odor. I certainly didn't feel clean after bathing here. There were 2 different types of bees swarming multiple camp sites that we rented. 2 people from my party were stung.I will NEVER come to this campsite again
Oct 13, 2024 · Amy TurnerI can’t even give Adventurebound Camping resort in Cape May any rating. They were absolutely horrible. They did not offer anything that the campsite website said for the Halloween season We were there from October 10 -14 The owner was rude and obnoxious. The Cabin’s water was yellow and smelled. They said there was all these things for the kids to do and offered nothing. No hay ride, no costume contest, no dance contest no trick or treating all he did was complain about the 3 extra guest that came to see the kids costume contest that wasn’t there. We paid over $1000 for 2 sites and a golf cart rental, which the golf cart broke after 1 day. We were supposed to stay from Thursday to Monday but we left early. To make matters worse he wanted every person to wear a wrist band plus had us pay for our guest then made us have them leave by 8 pm. And our sites were full of bees because there was huge nest in the trees. I’ve stayed at the other Adventure Bound Campground in Elmer and they had everything that their website offered during the Halloween season that staff was super friendly and very kid friendly. Cape May ‘s campsite should follow the Elmer’s campsite and then maybe it would be enjoyable. The only thing I can say is sorry for the frankness the owner is a complete jerk!!!!!! FYI. Fix the gate!
Oct 13, 2024 · Mary MonachelloRented two deluxe cabins for three days/two nights. All the adults in our group have experience camping - even rustic camping. With that said, we would not come back here. The water was AWFUL! Almost sulfuric in its smell. It was so bad no one showered - just wiped down. We avoided using the tap whenever possible, opting instead for bottled water and Wet Ones. The cabins were fairly clean, though the shower stalls were stained (probably by the water). Like other reviews stated, both the playground and game room were sad and in need of updates. Store had some stuff, but not much. Mostly branded items. The pool was dirty and in need of plenty of repairs. Thankfully we spent most of our time elsewhere.Staff was friendly and I did like that they had a shallow pool for our toddler. It was also in a great location. Still not worth it, though.Next time we'll pick a different camp site (most of which seem cheaper and much better maintaned), or just stay at a hotel for the same price.
Aug 25, 2024 · Christina VantWe just spent a week at Adventure Bound Cape May, We had a awesome time! We spent it with my brother and his family in two campers, and my mother and step dad rented a cabin. We could not have been more pleased. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The trash pick up at the site was a nice feature. We had read some of the reviews about dirt in the cabins. But when you are at the beach with sand and sandy roads there is going to be a little sand on the floor. Your camping folks. We found the campground to be kept up nicely. Very central to everything. We were 12 minutes to Stone Harbor which is where we like to go to the beach. About 17 minutes from Wild Wood and Cape May. When comparing prices for motels vs a site for our camper for the week, we saves about $1,300 We will definitely be camping here again.
