Battlehill RV Park Introduce
When local users in the Galva, Kansas area search for "RV parks near me," Battlehill RV Park, located at 2443 Pueblo Rd, presents itself as a noteworthy option. As a platform category designed to connect local users with nearby RV parks offering various services and goods, it's crucial to examine the available customer feedback to understand the environment, services, and features of this park. Based on the online reviews, Battlehill RV Park appears to offer a peaceful, family-friendly, and amenity-rich experience, albeit with a slightly remote location.
One reviewer begins by acknowledging that "Once you get there it's a nice campground." This initial statement suggests that the destination itself is rewarding, even if the journey requires some consideration. The reviewer then provides important navigational advice, cautioning against taking 24th Ave from the north due to a 7-ton bridge, which necessitated a half-mile backup. For local users searching "RV parks near me" and planning their route, this specific guidance is invaluable for a smooth arrival. It underscores the importance of checking directions, perhaps even calling ahead as another reviewer did, especially when traveling with a large RV.
Despite the initial travel note, the reviewer highlights several positive aspects of Battlehill RV Park itself. They praise the "huge" sites, indicating ample space for RVs and potentially for setting up outdoor living areas. The location is described as "very quiet," which aligns with the desire of many RV travelers seeking a peaceful retreat. The reviewer also notes the "unbeatable price," suggesting that Battlehill RV Park offers good value for money, a significant factor for those browsing "RV parks near me" with budget considerations.
In terms of amenities, the first review mentions a "Nice day use room with restrooms and showers." This provides a communal space for guests and indicates the availability of essential facilities beyond what might be contained within individual RVs. While the reviewer notes that the "Water pressure could be better but it's not terrible," this is a minor point in an otherwise positive assessment of the facilities. The lack of trees, resulting in "no shade," is also mentioned as a potential drawback for some, particularly during hot summer months. However, the reviewer appreciates the clear night skies, stating, "If you like stars at night, peace and quiet, listening to coyotes howl this is your kinda place." This paints a picture of a rural setting ideal for nature lovers seeking tranquility when searching "RV parks near me."
The reviewer also points out that "If you want something convenient to town I'd look elsewhere," reinforcing the slightly remote nature of Battlehill RV Park. However, they also note a positive aspect of the community within the park: "Lot of long term workers but no loud partying," suggesting a respectful and quiet atmosphere despite the presence of longer-term residents. For families, the park offers "Splash pad, basketball goals, and small playground for the kids," indicating family-friendly amenities. Additionally, the proximity to a "State lake close by" adds to the recreational opportunities available to guests.
The second review corroborates and expands on the positive aspects of Battlehill RV Park. The reviewers stayed over Memorial Day weekend and specifically called ahead for driving directions and check-in information, which seems to have been a prudent step given the earlier reviewer's experience. They found the partially gravel road to be "in great condition," even comparing it favorably to some paved roads they had encountered during travels across all 50 states. This positive feedback about the road condition is reassuring for those who might be concerned about accessing a park with gravel roads.
During their stay, these reviewers experienced additional perks, including the presence of vendors and wine tasting, suggesting that the park occasionally hosts events or provides opportunities for socializing and entertainment. They were also "invited to make s'mores in the evening," highlighting a welcoming and community-oriented atmosphere. They specifically mention meeting and chatting with Raymond, the owner, his family, and other local people and campers, describing them all as "very friendly, kind and hospitable." This strong emphasis on the welcoming nature of the owner and the community is a significant draw for those seeking a friendly environment when browsing "RV parks near me."
In terms of practicalities, the second review notes that "The sites are level, FHU (full hookups), some back-in and some pull-through." Level sites are essential for comfortable RV living, and full hookups (water, electricity, and sewer) provide maximum convenience. The availability of both back-in and pull-through sites caters to different RV sizes and preferences. The reviewers also reiterate the presence of "two small kid play structures, basketball/volleyball court, splash pad, laundry and bathroom with showers," confirming the family-friendly amenities mentioned earlier. Additionally, they highlight an interesting and unique feature: "Raymond has Angus beef for sale," potentially offering guests the opportunity to purchase locally sourced food.
The second review concludes with a strong endorsement: "We extended our stay here after the first night, it was a peaceful and relaxing place. We will stay here when we are back in the area." This positive experience, leading to an extended stay, speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of Battlehill RV Park. The emphasis on it being "peaceful and relaxing" aligns with the first reviewer's comments about the quiet location.
Based on these two detailed and largely positive reviews, Battlehill RV Park in Galva, KS, offers a compelling option for local users searching for "RV parks near me." The park boasts spacious and level full hookup sites, a quiet and peaceful environment ideal for stargazing and enjoying nature, and a range of amenities including restrooms, showers, laundry, a day-use room, a splash pad, basketball/volleyball courts, and playgrounds. The owner and community are described as friendly and hospitable. While the location is somewhat outside of town, it offers a serene rural setting and proximity to a state lake. The potential lack of shade might be a consideration for some, and careful attention to driving directions is advised.

Battlehill RV Park Reviews
Once you get there it's a nice campground. Several miles of gravel roads to arrive and don't take 24th Ave if coming from the north, ran into a 7 ton bridge and had to back up about half a mile. Sites are huge, location is very quiet, and you can't beat the price. Nice day use room with restrooms and showers. Water pressure could be better but it's not terrible and some shade would be nice as there are no trees. If you like stars at night, peace and quiet, listening to coyotes howl this is your kinda place. If you want something convenient to town I'd look elsewhere. Lot of long term workers but no loud partying. Splash pad, basketball goals, and small playground for the kids. State lake close by.
Aug 26, 2024 · Kayne PhillipsWe stayed at the Battlehill Park over the Memorial Day weekend. We called ahead for best driving directions and check in process. The drive in was partially on gravel road but it was in a great condition. We traveled through all 50 states and this road was better than some paved roads. They had some vendors there and we did wine tasting. In the evening we were invited to make s'mores. We met and chatted with Raymond, the owner, his family and other local people and campers. All very friendly, kind and hospitable. The sites are level, FHU, some back-in and some pull-through. There are two small kid play structures, basketball/volleyball court, splash pad, laundry and bathroom with showers. Raymond has Angus beef for sale. We extended our stay here after the first night, it was a peaceful and relaxing place. We will stay here when we are back in the area.
May 27, 2024 · mom tostarWe stayed at this park for a week. The rates are amazing. Nice level spots, full hookups. Dark night skies. Large club house south kitchen. Bathroom and showers. Owner was just great. Thank you Raymond
Oct 14, 2024 · Beth SmithWe really enjoy going to Battlehill, very clean and very friendly!! Set along side of Maxwell State Lake, so peaceful and beautiful! I highly suggest visiting anytime! We will always support Battlehill!! Thank you for such an amazing place!!
Oct 12, 2024 · Sheryl SchaferDue to some issues with another park we were in a bind and searching for a place to camp last minute while here for our nieces graduation. The owner was super nice and helpful! The park is off the beaten path which added to its charm and let us relax during a busy weekend. The sites are large and the area was very clean! One of the best areas we have ever camped! If we ever find ourselves in this area again we will be sure to stop!
